Veteran musician, Eedris Abdulkareem, recently tongue-lashed D’banj, calling him “stupid” to have left Don Jazzy. In the said video, Eedris took some of his younger colleagues to the cleaners while saying D’banj “lacked talent and all he has is ‘razzmatazz’”.
Saturday Beats caught up with the Kokomaster recently and he bared his mind on Eedris’ outburst. He told Saturday Beats that he felt Eedris could have handled the matter in a better way.
The Kokomaster said, “At first, I did not see the video where Eedris spoke about me and initially, I thought it was something else till people sent me the video. I have seen different videos of him talking about different artistes that are young enough to be his kids.
I would have thought that if he was such a role model, there were better ways he could pass his message across but I have nothing against him. I have nothing more to say about him. I feel people just have different ways of expressing themselves.”

According to the Nigerian Voice, Controversial former U.S attorney-general Bruce Fein has urged the United Nations Security Council, under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter to designate Nnamdi Kanu as an “internationally protected person” as defined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes Against Internationally Protected Persons, Including Diplomatic Agents.
Article I of the Convention defines an “internationally protected person as “A Head of State, including any member of a collegial body performing the functions of a Head of State under the constitution of the State concerned, a Head of Government or a Minister of Foreign Affairs, whenever such person is in a foreign state ….”
“The acts and utterances of IPOB were acts and utterances of terrorists, said the federal government after the organization was proscribed, but Fein in a fresh appeal to the world body said that Nnamdi Kanu, qualifies as a ‘Head of State.’
“In sum, Nnamdi Kanu, qualifies as a “Head of State” under the Convention. He is one of a group of IPOB leaders who perform the core government function in the South East region of Nigeria of protecting the physical safety of innocent civilian Biafrans from predation or murder by Hausa-Fulani terrorists. He is subject de facto to Nigerian martial law. He possesses lesser rights than a foreign diplomat in Nigeria. Mr. Kanu is a de facto foreigner in Nigeria and a Head of State in de facto foreign territory in the South East within the meaning of the Convention.”
“The United Nations Security Council, through a resolution or otherwise, should designate Mr. Kanu as an internationally protected person. His status falls within the jurisdiction of the Security Council under Chapter VII of the Charter because the Nigerian Government’s threatened force or violence against him threatens international peace and security in West Africa and elsewhere.”
“As an internationally protected person, Mr. Kanu falls within the protections of the Convention. Under Article 4, all parties are required to undertake measures to deter the Government of Nigeria from criminal action against him by an embargo on arms sales, financial sanctions, or otherwise. The United States has specifically criminalized the assault, harm, murder or manslaughter of internationally protected persons in 18 U.S.C. ¶¶ 112 and 1116.”
“In fact, IPOB is a peaceful political group led in part by Mr. Kanu that seeks restructuring of Nigeria in conformity with time-honored principles of self-determination, he alleged.
“The United States Government has denied that IPOB is a terrorist organization. It is not listed as such under United States law. No nation seriously considers IPOB to be anything other than a peaceful political group representing the political interests of a substantial part of Nigeria’s fifty million Biafrans.”
Fein is a scholar for the American Enterprise Institute, which is closely connected to AIPAC, a main lobby for Israeli interests. Fein’s business associations largely consist of foreign governments and large oil conglomerates, all of which seem to be strange bed fellows for a “constitutional lawyer” of the United States, Per Second News gathered.
Investigations shows that Mr Fein is currently a lead lawyer at the Lichfield Group a law firm that holds many global partnerships in addition to its political and media consulting. On its own website it alludes to directing or managing global concerns, including assisting foreign governments to influence the United States Congress.
In recent years, Fein has had his ethics called to question over a money laundering scandal involving the Turkish Coalition Of America (TCA) and Republican Representative Jean Schmidt from Ohio. This prompted a House Ethics Committee hearing in August of 2011. Although Fein was representing Schmidt, a U.S Congressman, he had been in collaboration with the TCA and the Turkish lobby for sometime. Its not hard to think there may have been a conflict of interest.
Sibel Edmonds, a well-known FBI whistleblower had this to say about Fein’s character:
“With Bruce Fein you have exactly the opposite stand. He has been a crusty foreign lobbyist making millions of dollars peddling his foreign bosses’ interests and influence in Congress and government agencies. For Fein it has never mattered who the foreign client or what their agenda. He does not care whether his foreign clients are criminals or terrorists or dictators. As long as they pay him handsomely he’ll sell their agenda and interest no matter what they may be.”
Reports in the U.S alleged that, it was Fein who authored the very first articles to impeach former U.S. President Barack Obama, later introduced by Representative Walter Jones of North Carolina.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission were at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, on Tuesday, to serve the embattled lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye, the petition by his constituents to recall him.
The officials, however, met Melaye’s office (Room 2.13, New Building, Senate Wing) locked. Our correspondent sighted his aides, who could have received the notice on his behalf, around the Senate chamber.
Four ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bags, believed to be containing the recall documents and court papers, were sighted at the door to the office. While some of the INEC officials waited at Melaye’s door, others took positions at various entrances between the office and the Senate chamber.
While the officials waited, Melaye was in the chamber for the day’s plenary. The senator, however, hurriedly left the chamber at about 1.45pm, while the session was ongoing, rushed into a waiting car at the main entrance of the complex – the closest to the chamber – and drove off.
Some of the officials around the chamber failed in their bid to meet up with Melaye. In a WhatsApp message to our correspondent later, Melaye said, “Appeal properly entered and all records of proceedings at the lower court transferred to the Court of Appeal. Nail on INEC.”
The senator accompanied the message with a photograph of his notice of appeal filed on September 15, 2017, at the Court of Appeal to set aside the judgment of the Federal High Court delivered on September 11, 2017.
Melaye had, at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, said the 90-day deadline set for INEC by Section 69b of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) had expired. He said, “The 90-day period, as provided for in the constitution for conducting the referendum (after our verification), elapsed by effluxion of time on the 23rd day of September 2017.
“The time, as provided for in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having elapsed by effluxion of time, I, Senator Dino Melaye, cannot and shall not under any circumstance, aid and abet INEC to further desecrate and infringe on the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which I have sworn to defend.”

According to a report by Guardian, Donald Trump on Tuesday accused North Korea of torturing a captive US student “beyond belief,” spurning pleas from allies and foes in east Asia to tone down his warlike rhetoric.
For the first time, Trump publicly accused Pyongyang of abusing the late 22-year-old Otto Warmbier, an allegation likely to heighten tensions between the two nuclear powers.
Last June the Ohio native was sent home in a coma after more than a year in prison in North Korea. He died a few days later.
Aides say Trump was personally shocked and angered by Warmbier’s death, and that the government suspects mistreatment.
But the US president had stopped short of publicly accusing the regime of torture, a move that would raise expectations of a tough response, raise tensions and could complicate any future releases.
Since June, the United States and North Korea have traded military moves and bombastic insults in a stand-off over Kim Jong-Un’s nuclear and ballistic weapons programs.
After seeing Warmbier’s parents on television Tuesday morning, Trump cast previous concerns aside.
“Otto was tortured beyond belief by North Korea,” he said in an early morning tweet.
The missive came just hours after South Korea — whose densely-populated capital Seoul is located just 35 miles from the demilitarized zone dividing the Korean peninsula — asked its US ally to take the heat out of the situation.
Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha visited Washington to warn it was imperative to “prevent further escalation of tensions or any kind of accidental military clashes which can quickly go out of control.”
Similarly, China, the North’s neighbor and only major ally, warned Tuesday that any conflict would have “no winners.”
Foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said rhetorical sparring “will only increase the risk of confrontation and reduce the room for policy maneuver.”
US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, visiting India, stressed that Washington wants a diplomatic solution to the North Korean nuclear crisis.
“We maintain the capability to deter North Korea’s most dangerous threats but also to back up our diplomats in a manner that keeps this as long as possible in the diplomatic realm,” he said in New Delhi after talks with his Indian counterpart.
Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un traded barbs in the wake of the North’s sixth nuclear bomb and multiple missile tests.
Pyongyang says it needs the weapons to defend itself against the threat of a US invasion.
Alarm over Pyongyang’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs dominated the gathering of world leaders at the United Nations, amid fears the heated rhetoric could accidentally trigger a war.
In his UN address last week, Trump delivered the blunt threat to “totally destroy” North Korea if provoked, deriding leader Kim Jong-un as “Rocket Man”.
Kim hit back with a personal attack of his own, branding Trump “mentally deranged” and a “dotard” and warning he would “pay dearly”.
The North’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho on Monday called a press conference to hit back at a US bomber mission near the North’s coastline and a slew of bombastic warnings from the American president.
Taking umbrage at Trump’s weekend tweet that North Korea’s leadership “won’t be around much longer” if it keeps up its threats, Ri told reporters the international community hoped that a “war of words” would “not turn into real actions”.
“However, last weekend, Trump claimed our leadership would not be around much longer,” said Ri, who attended this year’s UN General Assembly session. “He declared a war on our country.”
The White House said Ri’s interpretation of Trump’s saber-rattling as “absurd”.
Fears of a clash were sharpened after US bombers flew off the coast of North Korea on Saturday — going further north of the demilitarized zone than any US aircraft has flown this century.
“Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to take counter-measures including the right to shoot down US strategic bombers even when they are not yet inside the airspace border of our country,” Ri said.
“The question of who won’t be around much longer will be answered then.”
A Pentagon spokesman stressed the bombers flew in international airspace and had every right to do so.
South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) said that while Pyongyang did not appear to have picked up the presence of the US warplanes over the weekend, it had since bolstered its coastal defenses.
“North Korea relocated its warplanes and strengthened defenses along the east coast,” said Lee Cheol-Woo, the chief of the National Assembly’s intelligence committee.

Nollywood actress Doris Simeon has revealed that men, these days, are shying away from their responsibilities as husbands. She said this in a recent interview with ThisDay.
When asked whether she thinks being a single mother is now fashionable in Nollywood, she said: “Single motherhood is not peculiar to Nollywood. If you go to the banking sector, there are single mothers there; in the military, in law firms and other fields, there are single mothers. It is not our fault; it’s just that men no longer want to play their role as husbands. I am not a supporter of single parenthood: every man or woman has the right to live their life the way they choose.”
“It’s just by God’s grace that I am acting and producing. Emotional trauma is not what I will encourage anybody to pass through. God created every woman for a man. So marriage is good,” she concluded.

The United States wants a diplomatic solution to the escalating nuclear crisis with North Korea, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Tuesday, toning down the shrill rhetoric between the two countries.
“We maintain the capability to deter North Korea’s most dangerous threats but also to back up our diplomats in a manner that keeps this as long as possible in the diplomatic realm,” he said in New Delhi after talks with his Indian counterpart.
“That is our goal, to solve this diplomatically, and I believe that President Trump has been very clear on this issue,” the US defence chief said.
President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un have become embroiled in a bitter war of words after the North detonated its sixth nuclear bomb and test-fired intercontinental missiles — saying it needs to defend itself against the threat of a US invasion.
Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons ambitions — including a suggestion last week that it could test an H-bomb over the Pacific — has increased international fears of conflict.
Alarm over Pyongyang’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes dominated this year’s gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly.
Mattis said the United States was continuing to put pressure on the North’s leadership through diplomatic channels.
“We continue to maintain the diplomatically-led effort in the United Nations. You have seen unanimous United Nations Security Council resolutions passed that have increased the pressure, economic pressure and diplomatic pressure, on the North,” he said.
