The looks at New York Fashion Week are usually not what you’d call easy to pull off. Every once in a while, though, we’re blessed with a few...
It can seem like there’s a lot to know about good style, and there is, at least if you want to be enrolled in its master class. But looking sharper than 99% of other guys is actually fairly simple and merely requires knowing and doing little stuff right. The kind of stuff that can be encapsulated into short, easy-to-remember principles and adages.
Below you’ll find the best of the best of such tips: 22 tips that you can be doing, right now, to make yourself look sharper.
1. Throw out or give away anything you haven’t worn in over a year.
You get two “beloved old favorite” exemptions here, as well as formalwear. Ruthlessly pitch or donate the rest.
2. Get everything adjusted.
Well, okay, not everything. But most things: nice pants, shirts, and jackets should all go to the tailor for adjustments, unless they came custom-tailored already.
3. Spend more money on less pieces of clothing.
Quality lasts longer than quantity, and you look better in it.
4. Shop for a suit in person.
Even if you don’t need one. Just get the experience of comparing jacket styles, fabrics, and cuts.
5. There are more shoe colors than brown and black.
Colored leather and suede are fantastic shoe options. Get a little crazy with reds, blues, and grays. Don’t worry about matching a belt to each one — a black belt with gray shoes or a brown one with oxblood red is fine.
6. Trouser cuffs should “break” on the tops of your shoes.
That means they rest very lightly on the leather itself. You shouldn’t have a gap between your pants and your shoes.
7. Wear a pocket square.
Any time you’re wearing a jacket. No exceptions.
8. Buy something in a pattern that occurs nowhere else in your wardrobe.
9. Next time you go to put on jeans, grab a pair of slacks or chinos instead.
Then make the rest of the outfit work with them.
10. Belts or suspenders — pick one.
Never both at the same time.
11. Wear a necktie when you don’t have to.
Just for fun.
12. Watch any movie starring Cary Grant.
Now ask yourself: “What can I do to dress a little more like that?”
13. Gym shoes are for the gym.
Ditto athletic socks.
14. Wear a lightweight sweater under a sports jacket with some jeans.
Doesn’t that look good? Check out more tips on layering your clothes and rocking a sports jacket and jeans .
15. Get a pair of coloured trousers.
Something funky. Red, green, yellow, orange, whatever.
16. Go read a book on style.
Or a magazine. Or an article. Something about fashion. Old and out-of-date is okay, and even fun sometimes. Just get exposed to something new.
Check out our entire collection of style archives.
17. Match the colour of your socks to the colour of your trousers.
Most of the time. When you want to be daring, wear a bright, contrasting colour instead.
18. Have a removable top layer.
In hot weather, you can go with one shirt. The rest of the time, have at least two presentable layers on top. You never know when you’ll want to loan a lady your jacket/shirt/whatever.
19. Invest in a really nice suitcase and day bag.
Your luggage is part of your style. Learn about choosing the right bag for your trip.
20. Shop with a friend.
Sales people are paid to sell you things whether they look good or not. Take a friend who will tell you to your face when you look like an idiot.
21. Own a watch you can wear with a good business suit.
Handsome. Functional. Classic. It’s amazing how such a small accessory can greatly enhance how you look and feel.
Read up on our wristwatch primer.
22. Traditional light blue denim is a great colour for jeans
Get a dark indigo instead of light blue, or go with a different color entirely.
It can seem like there’s a lot to know about good style, and there is, at least if you want to be enrolled in its master class. But looking ...
Valentine’s Day is a big deal to a girl, so you’d better make sure that it’s a day to remember. If you haven’t got anything planned yet and you’re still struggling to come up with an idea, here’s some last minute ideas for 10 romantic things you can do for your girlfriend this Valentine’s day.
1. Book a room
Even if you’re not planning to go out of town, getting out the house will still make it an extra special day. Book a room in a hotel and reserve a table for dinner. Phone ahead and get some flowers and a box of chocolates, put in the room, and you have a relatively inexpensive and easy Valentines surprise, that will still be romantic.
2. Stay in and cook her dinner
Surprise her with your culinary expertise and rustle up something great for her in the kitchen. Lay the table with some roses and candles, because that’s just as important as the food to set the right the mood. She will love it that you went to all the trouble to cook her favourite meal and made that special evening to be so romantic.
3. Book a romantic weekend for two
Valentine’s Day is over a weekend this year and you’re still not too late to find somewhere to stay away for the weekend. Get online and find some last minute deals, you can always tell her you had it planned for ages!
4. Take her on a starlight picnic
Depending on what the weather is like where you are, a picnic under the stars is a really romantic way to spend a Valentine’s evening. Pack a picnic hamper and blanket and drive somewhere out of time and spend a romantic time, all alone, in the open air (well, if it’s not too cold, of course).
5. Do something exciting
There’s no rule that says Valentine’s Day should be the traditional dinner for two. Why not book a reservation to a sporting activity or playing a sport. If you both enjoy physical activity, then it’s a great way to have fun together on Valentine’s Day.
6. Go to a Karaoke bar
If your girlfriend can sing, or thinks she can, then a fun night out at a karaoke bar, singing romantic duets together, will be a night to remember. Or, if one of you is too shy to sing in public, have a karaoke night at home. There are plenty of web sites that will provide you with the music and the lyrics, or just try to find them on youtube.
7. Have a movie night at home
Some girls would just love to have a night in with Pizza and a pile of romantic DVD’s to watch. Get everything ready, so she can just kick off her shoes and sit back and relax. Just make sure you pick the movies that she’s going to like, not just your favourites.
8. Check out the local live music
If the lady of your life likes her music, then take her to a local music venue or club. You won’t find the big names, but the smaller venues are much more intimate and the music is more real. You never know, you could be one of the first people to have seen the next mega band live.
9. Book a date at a spa
Pamper both you and your girlfriend with a date at a spa. You can book for the day or to stay over the weekend and share in the fun. Many spa resorts do fantastic couple packages, so hunt around and make that last minute reservation.
10. Don’t forget next year!
A word of advice: don’t leave it so late next Valentine’s Day! It’s a lot easier to get things organised if you put a note in your diary in advance of February 14 th. Imagine what would happen if you had forgotten it all together!
Stay happy, love and be loved!

Vanguard reports that the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) headed by Professor Itse Sagay are saddled with the responsibility.
The two offices, the report states, will reassess the 170-count charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) earlier initiated against the former governor who just returned from London.
“The federal government, through the AGF, PACAC and the EFCC, has commenced the process of reviewing the case-file.
“I can authoritatively tell you that the review will be holistic and thorough considering all that have taken place so far in the matter.
“There might be fresh angles that could possibly result in amendment of the already existing 170-count charge pending against Ibori.
“The AGF was earlier weighing the option of initiating an extradition process against him but fortunately he returned to the country voluntarily,” a source at the office of the AGF was quoted as saying.
The report however said none of the three government organisations responded to inquiries concerning the development.
The Benin division of the Court of Appeal had on May 15, 2014, ruled that Ibori could face money laundering charges in Nigeria upon completion of his 13-year jail term in London.
Ibori was accused of looting N40 billion from the coffers of Delta state as well as attempting to bribe Nuhu Ribadu, a former chairman of the EFCC, with $15 million in 2007 so as to help him stop further investigation into the money laundering allegations against him.

HIV definition is human immunodeficiency virus. This virus is perfectly capable of destroying T cells that work as protectors of our system. Therefore, HIV destroys our immune system and leave it unable to fight. Early signs of HIV can be various and depends on a person. Signs of HIV and Aids can be traced not only by doctors but even by patients. HIV and AIDS are commonly transmitted through:
Semen
Pre-seminal discharge
Anal discharge
Vaginal Discharge
Blood
The most common way to get the HIV is through the sexual behavior, exposures through infusion and injection. If there is a sign of HIV positive, then the person should immediately start curing procedures. Signs of HIV in a woman and signs of HIV in a man can be quite distinctive.
Fever
Fever is considered to be one of the critical signs and symptoms of HIV. If a patient experience a fever during 2-4 weeks constantly, then it`s likely the HIV. Still, Night sweats and fever is usually accompanied by infection-associated diseases. Fever is monitored on the early stages of HIV, and it`s a good sign, as your body still tries to resist. Fever is a natural response of our body to any disease, and if you get it, then you have chances to resist diseases. Still, it can be treated as primal symptoms of AIDS and HIV.
Night Sweats
If you can get enough sleep due to the abundant portion of the liquid in your bed and you are a cause of this liquid, then you should raise the alarm. It`s especially dangerous if you engaged in a sexual behavior a few nights earlier. HIV provides an enormous quantity of sweats which can drench your clothes and sheets – you just can`t sleep it through. People who got early stages of HIV and engaged in unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse with multiple partners reported about night sweats shortly after sex.
Sore throat
A sore throat can be treated as another early sign of HIV. Fewer is also likely to accompany patient with HIV. A sore throat was indicated as a primary symptom for 74% of infected patients. You may experience pain while swallowing water or food and even your saliva. Your sore throat and fever can last for two weeks and be also accompanied with mouth ulcers. Therefore, if you got a sore throat for such a long time – d not hesitate to ask help from a doctor.
Swollen Lymph Nodes
Immune cells of our body are spread amongst all cells of our organism. The main location for its distribution is the lymph nodes. Where can you find these lymph nodes? Check your groin area, armpits, and neck. The main task of the HIV is weakening your immune system; it includes identifying your immunity-boosting parts and illuminating them. If you got the swelling lymph parts of the body, then you might need to ask help from a doctor. More than 60% of HIV-positive people report that they get swollen lymph Nodes. They are painful to touch, and they can`t appear and disappear from time to time. It means that if you get swollen nodes for two to four weeks, then it`s serious.
Seborrheic Dermatitis and Rashes
According to the study published in Acta Dermatovenerol in Croatia in 2008, one of the earliest symptoms of HIV is Seborrheic dermatitis on the chest, face, and scalp. The presence of Seborrheic Dermatitis is registered in 80% of HIV-positive patients. The early symptoms of HIV are the appearance of flack, itchy, inflamed red skin on the face, scalp, and chest. It`s also reported that in some cases early symptoms of HIV in men can be red and inflamed skin around the private area. Early symptoms of HIV in women is also connected with inflammation in private areas.
Joint Pain and Muscle Pain
It`s true that these symptoms are registered throughout a great variety of diseases. Nevertheless, they can also be a key element to the early signs of HIV. American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons name muscle pain and joint pain as one of the primal symptoms of HIV.
Fatigue
If you experience a lack of energy or feel exhaustion for a long period without good night sleep, then you have a possibility to get other early symptoms of HIV. Journal Clinical Nursing named fatigue as one of the core element for HIV symptoms. Around 15% of HIV patients experience fatigue as a primal sign of HIV. Exhaustion and fatigue can severely affect a patient on the ability to perform tasks. It can also affect the mental clarity of actions.
Headaches
One of the early signs of HIV is a headache. It severely damages a patient`s ability to perform day-to-day tasks. Primary headaches, like tension-type headaches and migraines occurring for more than two weeks, can be clear signs of HIV in the initial stage. Secondary headaches, like headaches from meningitis or sinus headaches, are associated with HIV in the later studies of development. Around 45% of HIV-positive patients experience headaches.
Vomiting and Nausea
According to the study provided by the International Journal of AIDS in 2008, vomiting and nausea are two common symptoms of HIV. HIV infection targets immune system, it means that our body will try to respond naturally to this type of disease and try to lure it out of the organism. If you experience nausea, then it`s a clear signal that your body is under attack and you should do something about that.
Diarrhea
Diarrhea is a disorder of the gastrointestinal tract which is caused by fungal, bacterial and viral infection. HIV attacks our immune system, and severely damaged cells are not able to give a proper respond to any disease.
In general – all HIV symptoms found in men are not quite different from HIV symptoms found in women. HIV symptoms can vary from a patient to patient. Two HIV-positive men can experience totally different types of symptoms. General symptoms of HIV in men include:
Advanced infection. Due to a highly weakened immune system, the body is extremely susceptible to a large number of illnesses.
Acute illness. Around 70% of male patients notice acute illness. If it occurs, the probability to get it increases in post infection period of 1-2 weeks.
Asymptomatic period: it`s a long period, where a man experiences no symptom of a disease.
Early symptoms of HIV in women
Initial symptoms of HIV can be easily missed. If it`s pretty noticeable, any person can still misunderstand them with common diseases. Therefore, a woman treats the HIV as the common flu and do not ask help from a doctor. The common signs of HIV for women is not differentiated from men:
Night sweats
Fatigue
Nausea
Vomiting
Joint pain
Muscle soreness
Skin rashes
Sore throat
Fever
Swollen lymph nodes
A woman who is sexually active and has various sex partners is recommended to get tested for HIV once in a few months. Testing remains the most certain way to get the clear information whether you have HIV.

A post by a twitter user has gone viral as he claims that President Buhari who is in UK for medical check up is actually in a coma in a private ward after an unsuccessful surgery was conducted on him. He further relayed that the President is not in his residence at the Nigeria high commission, that he is incapacitated and didn’t write any letter. All these information was given to him by his cousin who also worked in the same hospital the President was being treated.
There have been no confirmation to this new information by the Federal Government but this has indeed brought a new light in the situation of things. Hopefully it is a rumour and the President is indeed hail and hearty, although the possibility of this information should not be disregarded.
Meanwhile, the Twitter user that shared this message is no where to be found. His account has been deactivated which has even caused more frenzy on social media. Nigerians are all waiting for the Federal Government to dispute this new information or better still, shed more light on it.

How to Keep Your Makeup Up-to-Date?
An old tube of mascara. An off-colored foundation. An out-of-style eyeshadow palette. Every woman’s makeup bag, probably, has one or two (or three) products that she just can’t seem to throw away. It’s time to take out your trash cans, though, because makeup has an expiration date! While many products contain preservatives that kill common bacteria, they can’t fight it fast enough, when make-up is exposed to air and, thus, leaving your face unprotected from airborne bacteria. And, of course, makeup that sits around for years won’t provide the same coverage or color, as it once did. For these reasons, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of makeup expiration dates that will help you keep your bag clean and your skin clear.
1. Mascara shelf life
Throw it away every three months
Mascara is, perhaps, the biggest offender, when it comes to germs, because it’s tube is very often opened, closed and exposed to airborne bacteria. Because the mascara wand works so closely with the eyes, it’s also prone to holding onto the bacteria that can cause eye’s itchiness, redness or even conjunctivitis. If you’ve, somehow, got an eye irritation, you should stop using eye makeup until you’re completely cleared of the virus.
2. Foundation expiration date
Throw it away every one to two years, depending on the product’s base
The life of foundation can vary, depending on it’s formula: liquid or powder; oil-based formulas, for example, tend to break down faster, than their more solid counterparts. Regardless, it’s important to throw your foundation away, once it starts to separate, change colors, smell different or thicken.
3. How long to keep an eyeliner?
Throw it away every three months to two years
Like mascara, gel- and liquid-based eyeliners should be replaced every three months, considering how much they’re in contact with your eyes. However, pencil liners can be used for up to two years, as long as they’re regularly sharpened and refreshed.
4. Lipstick, Lip Gloss and Lip Liner
Throw it away every two years
Lipsticks and glosses make it easy for wearers to know when it’s time to toss them. While the sticks dry out, glosses become stickier than usual. Lip liners, however, last two or more years, if they’re regularly sharpened.
5. Perfume’s shelf life
Throw it away every two or three years (but, sometimes, your perfume can last even longer…therefore, check the expiration date on the bottle)
It’s hard to believe that perfume bottles aren’t forever lasting home products , as their dainty shapes look so good on display. As the time goes by, your perfume’s odor might change. Therefore, it’s best to store your perfumes in a cool, dark place, in order to keep the scents fresh for as long as possible.
6. Nail polish expiration date
Throw it away every year
Nail polish thickens with time, so it’s, usually, pretty easy to tell when it’s time to toss. Increase your favorite shade’s shelf life by storing it in a cool, dry place or by adding a touch of nail polish thinner.
7. Body Lotion
Throw it away every two years
Body lotions’ in jars shelf life tend to expire faster, than that of lotions in bottles with pumps, as the latter protects its contents from any contact with airborne bacteria. Either way, lotion, typically, shows that it’s expired by changing its color or scent.
Well, now you are armed with the knowledge on how long you should keep your makeup and cosmetic products. This understanding will not only help you preserve your skin in its healthy condition, but also save you money, because you won’t buy unnecessary goods, before finishing your previously opened ones. Of course, these aren’t the only beauty products that have a set shelf life; you should also keep record of your other cosmetics and makeup expiration dates, such as your eyeshadows, bronzers, hair products, sunscreens, face washes, etc.

Femi Branch is a Nigerian poet, playwright, film actor, director and producer. Femi Branch took to Instagram to reveal how God saved his life after he was bedridden for two years.
The born actor wrote; ‘And probably cos he knew my love for shoes, the enemy tried to take my feet away in December 2011. For two years I couldn’t walk, I had to be carried to bathe, to ease myself and all what not. I saw almost all I had just to get by since I couldn’t work. But God who sits on high and directs the affairs of men, who loved me way more than my enemies could fathom, laughed them to scorn! I not only discovered the efficacy of prayers but also discovered just how many ‘True Friends’ I had. And two horrible accidents later, not only am I walking again today, but to the glory of the most High, I walk in style. As a woman, keeping your vagina healthy and sweet is important your sexual organs are very valuable and must be well cared for. Our sex organs are very valuable and must be well cared for.
So, as a woman, keeping your vagina healthy and sweet is important.
Here are 7 simple tips to help you do just that:
Wash your vagina as often as possible. Vaginal odour is one of the worst problems a woman can face. To prevent this, wash at least twice a day with a gentle, unscented soap. Make sure you wash the pubic hair around the vagina. They usually retain sweat and dirt which in turn can create foul odour.
Give your vagina a regular haircut or shave. Some people crave a hairy vagina, but keeping too much vaginal hair is not so wise.
Truth is, the shorter the vaginal hair, the lower the chances of odour and infections. Women who have the time to constantly clean up may not have a problem with this. This is not always so if your hygiene standards are high. But shorter is cleaner and better.
Let our vagina breathe with the right lingerie. Use the right lingerie which will allow air around your vagina because, leaving the area damp leaves you open to a bacterial invasion. Cotton underwear is preferably to nylon and other airless fabric.
Get medical help once you notice an infection. It is not wise to watch a vaginal infection develop. Once you notice an itch, strange colouration of vaginal (menstrual) emissions, strange feelings or noticeable signs of infections — say foul odour, rashes or boils, head to the hospital. The danger of leaving infections untreated goes beyond odours. Your fertility as woman is also at risk.
Change your underwear regularly. A woman should never wear an underwear item for more than a day. Vaginal secretions make it totally unhealthy, damp and a ready ground for bacteria to multiply. This is even more important during menstruation.
No perfumes around the vagina. If you have odour around the vagina, spraying perfume will not help you. Perfume will make matters worse by causing a PH imbalance which is not good. So the best option is to up your hygiene.
Make your vagina taste sweet with good food. It has been proven that what you eat affects the taste of your vaginal juices. So eat the right kind of fruits, especially those high in natural sugar— oranges, apples, mangoes etc. They have a positive effect on vaginal taste, same as with yoghurt and honey. On the other hand, avoid fruits and vegetables that give bad breath — like onions, garlic. They have an equally negative effect on vaginal taste, just like alcohol, coffee and spicy food.
A bonus tip is to use baby wipes instead of the usual tissue paper after a visit to the toilet.
As a woman, keeping your vagina healthy and sweet is important your sexual organs are very valuable and must be well cared for. Our sex orga...
According to Leadership, a source disclosed on Wednesday, February 8, that except there would be any last minute change, all is set for President Buhari’s return.
The source, a senior official in the presidency, who spoke in confidence with newsmen, simply said: “Barring any last minute change, we are expecting the president back this weekend, probably on Saturday.”
It was also gathered that the president had on Tuesday this week cancelled an interview with a foreign media organisation, but may possibly grant an interview in London before the weekend.
Another source in the presidency also said that President Buhari “had already packed his bags to leave on Sunday but was advised by his doctors to wait and get results of some tests he conducted before leaving that country.”
“I can confidently tell you that Mr. President might still be there (in London) because he has to succumb to the superior knowledge of physicians who conducted medical checks on him, but his mind is in Nigeria,” he added.
On rumours that he is incapacitated, the source who preferred not to be named in print because he is not in a position to officially speak on the matter said, “What else do you expect from people? If it were to be other past presidents who go on vacation or medical checkup without official notification, there wouldn’t have been room for such rumour.
“But this is a president who is determined to remain transparent in whatever he does in office. Don’t forget that this is not the first time His Excellency is embarking on a vacation outside the shores of the country.”
Naij.com had earlier reported that the special adviser on media and publicity to the president, Mr Femi Adesina, had on Tuesday said the president may return to Nigeria sooner than expected.
President Buhari had on Sunday written to the National Assembly, informing lawmakers of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed observed yesterday that it was ridiculous for anyone to compare President Buhari’s health condition with that of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
Mohammed who spoke after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa was joined by the ministers of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh and Trade & Investment, Okechukwu Enemelah. His position came two days after Osinbajo had replied those insisting on knowing the health status of the president, that only the president could disclose the status of his health.
Echoing the acting president’s position, the information minister insisted that the president was hale and hearty, just as he assured that Buhari was well and that he was absolutely in no danger.
