According to a report on HNNAfrica, a blog owned by popular controversial media personality Kemi Olunloyo, allegations have been that popular Yoruba actress Iyabo Ojo uses juju to sleep with pastors. These claims were made by a church member of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt. This is the content of the post on HNNAfrica:
“#HNNInvestigates #AccessNollywood Good morning Madam KOO. My name is Ebiye Patience and I’m a dedicated member of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt. Our Pastor, David Ibiyiomie is shamelessy frolicking with yoruba prostitute Iyabo Ojo. All these prostitutes in the name of actresses. We learnt that he has been spending the church’s money on this girl and some other nollywood actresses to the point that Iyabo and Vivian Metchie had a nasty fight on him. After catching her in bed with a boy she picked from the club. She has used juju on our pastor. The range rover 2008 model she uses now used to be in our pastor garage before he dashed her. The Toyota corolla she claimed she bought her PA last year is one of the cars that her former minister ex boyfriend dumped her after church gave its members for christmas. This story was almost out last year but she paid off the press with cash and her body. She is a grade one harlot who picks little boys on the street to sleep with. Our pastor is gradually destroying Gods name as he is now a sugar daddy to iyabo ojo. Even though she paid press, I know madam KOO is one who can’t be bought by money and will do investigation and let the world know the truth. @IyaboOjofespris and @DayoAmusa visits all herbalists everywhere. Our pastor is even building a house for this girl as I speak. They should stop destroying Nollywood. Pls fish out this prostitutes. Pastor has a hidden house in PH that’s were he houses Iyabo anytime he wants to see her. She is also dating a series of men. Hustling between them all so that she can form big lifestyle with money gotten from them all. There is no herbalist that doesn’t know her. She pretends to be nice but inside, she is a snake. She has a shop off Allen but she sells nothing. You can send someone there to investigate. You’d meet no one. Its a cover up for her prostitution business. She should definitely be exposed. Every prostitute must be fished out. God bless you ma.
I have reached out to Iyabo Ojo on these allegations. No response yet.”
These could likely be a false accusation, although the actress has not responded to all these allegations to dispute them, all ears are on the wall to know the other side of this story. Many believe that it is just another controversial stunt to create a media frenzy around the Yoruba actress to drag her name in the mud.

According to the Guardian, Trump said he wasn’t “ranting and raving” during his press conference, and that was correct. The President was confidently unhinged as he spent more than an hour berating the press and boasting without any real basis that “there has never been a presidency that’s done so much in such a short period of time”.
The press conference, nominally called to announce the nomination of Alexander Acosta to be secretary of labour, represented the first opportunity for reporters to ask the president about a series of stories about his administration’s ties to Russia and Vladimir Putin. Trump responded by focusing on the real enemy – the media. In fact, at times, it felt that the press conference focused more on CNN correspondent Jim Acosta than Alexander Acosta (Trump even made sure to check with the CNN correspondent that the two weren’t related) as the president prosecuted his case against CNN. Often, Trump seemed to be in a time capsule, railing against Hillary Clinton and reusing entire paragraphs of rhetoric that he had once directed against her while campaigning for the White House.
The result was a spectacle that was sheer entertainment if not terribly presidential. It was more comical as Trump needled reporters and engaged in a brand of insult comedy that was familiar from the campaign trail. At times, reporters couldn’t help but laugh at the President’s jabs despite their best instincts, simply because Trump’s comments were just that wacky and bizarre.
At times, the interactions with reporters went beyond combative into a Twilight Zone. Trump told an Orthodox Jewish reporter who asked him about an upsurge in antisemitic incidents that he had asked “a very insulting question”. He later suggested to an African American reporter who had asked about whether Trump had consulted with the Congressional Black Caucus about his plan for inner cities that she should organize the meeting. “Tell you what, do you want to set up the meeting? Do you want to set up the meeting? Are they friends of yours?” the president asked the reporter about an influential bloc of congressmen.
Trump suggested that “drugs are becoming cheaper than candy bars”; insisted he only claimed falsely at the beginning of the press conference that he had won “the biggest electoral college win since Ronald Reagan” (in fact George HW Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama all won more electoral college votes) because he “was given bad information”; and opined in detail on CNN’s programming and ratings in its 10pm hour.
And there was an abundance of hard news. He insisted that “we had a very smooth rollout of the travel ban” despite all evidence and
announced a new executive order on the topic was coming next week. He assailed all reports on his aide’s ties to Russia as “a ruse” and “fake” while conceding that the cascade of leaks on the subject was real. He said he had fired his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn , because “he didn’t tell our vice-president properly” about his calls with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak but insisted that there was nothing improper about making the calls. “I would have directed him to do it if he wasn’t doing it, because that’s his job.” And he hedged on Barack Obama’s controversial Daca program for undocumented immigrants who entered the country as children.
During the election campaign, Trump would routinely make half a dozen statements at a single rally that might prove fatal to any other candidate. It was hard for the media to focus on a single issue then, when Trump was still an outsider and an underdog.
Today, some might focus on Trump’s statements on Russia or his attacks on the media. Others might focus on his outright lies and bizarre claims. But there can only be one takeaway from the press conference – Trump may have become President, but he will never be presidential. It has only been 27 days since the President took office. There are still at least three years and 11 months left to go, and it is never going to be normal.
Trump Spent His First Solo Press Conference Berating the Press and Dodging any Serious Questions

Beauty mistakes can be really annoying, especially, when you are in a hurry and you don’t have time to fix them. Today, I will share with you some easy and quick beauty solutions to fix some of the most typical and common beauty mistakes:
1) How to remove deodorant stains?
If you decided to wear a black dress and, suddenly, you discover that you, accidentally, left white deodorant stains right where everyone can see them…Don’t worry. To fix it, avoid rubbing it with water, because you don’t want to hit the world wet, right? Instead, just use your synthetic tights or simple baby wipes, rub the stained place with your tights (or baby wipes), and the deodorant stains are gone!
2) Lip color on your teeth
If you love wearing bright lipstick, you probably know that, sometimes, it loves to leave stains on your front teeth, which can be very embarrassing, especially, if you are actively trying to charm someone. To avoid this unwanted disaster, do this: after you’ve applied your lipstick, stick your index finger into your mouth, close your lips tightly around the finger and slowly pull your finger out of the mouth. You will see that the excess of lipstick will stick to your finger, leaving you confident and fearless regarding teeth stains. You can also swipe a very thin layer of Vaseline across your front teeth, so that lipstick won’t be able to adhere.
3) Shiny face fix
If you easily get shiny and, suddenly, you discover that you’ve ran out of blotting papers, don’t worry. Here is the solution: you can fix this problem by blotting your face with a toilet paper or toilet seat cover (sounds gross, but it works), it will help absorb excess oil saving you from the embarrassment.
4) How to get rid of frizzy hair?
Frizzy hair is a typical beauty mistake, which many ladies try to fix using water, but this solution can live your hair wet instead of frizzy; we don’t want that, right? Instead, take a pea-sized amount of body lotion, rub your hands together and work it into your frizzy locks, concentrating only on frizzies and flyaways, giving them weight; make sure to avoid the roots, we don’t want greasiness!
5) Broken nail fix…
Broken nail can not only be painful, but it can also be annoyingly caught on things. If you are somewhere away from home and you broke your nail, ask someone for a matchbox and file your nail on the rough side of it to smooth out rough nails.
6) Blush overload
If you’ve applied too much blush, while finishing up your makeup, don’t worry. Here is the fix: if it’s a powder blush, then dust some of your face powder over it to diffuse the bright tone; if you overloaded your cheeks with a cream blush, then you can tone it down using a light amount of liquid foundation on a sponge. If you’ve applied too much bronzer or eyeshadow, you can fix it the same way.
7) Too much perfume
We, girls, love perfume, this is why, often, we exaggerate with it’s intensity. If you’ve applied too much perfume and you don’t have time to shower, try removing the heavy scent using baby wipes or neutralize it by dabbing the perfumed area with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol. The problem with self-esteem is that it’s incredibly damaging. It can make us lose out on jobs, friendships, relationships, and so on and so on. In short, low self-esteem can take over our life, causing us to not make good on our potential.
If you’re looking to become a stronger, more confident person today, let’s take a look at these 10 secrets on how to improve self-esteem that you need to know all about. And yes, they’re for YOU!
1. Don’t Make Excuses
Confident people, though, don’t make excuses. They rise to challenges and take responsibility for their mistakes. If they’re late for work, they don’t make up a story about how they got “struck by lightning.” They admit their faults.
2. Learn From Mistakes
If you’ve got low self-esteem, one more mistake or failure could be enough to cause you to lock yourself in your room FOREVER. You know that failure is a really, really bad thing and is a sign of weakness. You know that only people like you fail.
But, actually, this is all wrong! Seriously! Failure is actually a chance to grow and learn. If you make a mistake, you should see it as a chance to improve. So our next tip on how to improve your self-esteem is to understand that obstacles are challenges, but they help us to learn and get better. All the winners in life have failed at some point, but they have used failures as springboards to improve their skill set.
3. Never Compare
Another important tip on how to improve your self-esteem is to never compare yourself to others.
We know how it is. You’re sat on a bench in the city feeling pretty good about yourself. Your hair looks nice today, and your new shoes fit really well. You strike a pose.
But then a girl comes and sits next down to you. You’re in awe because you think she’s better looking than you. Her hair is healthier than your hair, and her designer shoes outshine yours. Drat! Now you feel small, ridiculous and you just want to lock yourself in a room. Why did she have to come and sit next to you?!
Confident people don’t do this. They don’t compare themselves to others. They focus on themselves only and realise that everyone is different, and that everyone’s tastes are subjective.
4. Stand Up Straight
How you stand can affect your confidence. If you storm through crowds, head lowered and your back hunched over, you won’t feel confident at all. Moreover, you’re giving out the impression that you’re hiding away, because you’re frightened of being spotted.
If you get your posture right, you will feel more confident instantly. Stand up straight, walk slowly, and strike a superwoman pose. This is your town – embrace it!
5. Switch Focus
People with low self-esteem tend to be caught up in themselves. They think about their blemishes, their personality, their faults and their mistakes. As well as wasting a heap of time, this just makes your situation much worse.
Switching your attention onto a hobby is a great way to forget all about your self-esteem issues.
6. Prepare
Another good tip on how to improve your self-esteem is to prepare for different situations in advance.
Ever gone for a job interview and been a bag of nerves? Job interviews are scary, so there’s no shame in being nervous.
You could make your situation a lot easier, though, if you do what confident people do and prepare.
Before you go for an interview, practice with a friend. Read a few articles about the process. Get clued up on what you need to say. In short, build up your knowledge to build up your confidence.
The same goes with anything. If you want to start dating, read a book about how to do it with confidence.
7. Realise How Great And Talented You Are
Strangely enough, people who have low self-esteem today had quite a lot of it when they were younger. When they were younger, it may have been that they were good at mathematics at school, or perhaps they were on the netball team. Perhaps they even played in the school orchestra.
Today, though, all that has gone. As such, it’s easy to get down whenever you think about past glories and the talents you once had. It’s time to start focusing on the present, and the talents you have today – as well as the the talents you can still develop.
8. Stop Dwelling On Frustrations And Disappointments
Another tip on how to improve your self-esteem is to stop dwelling on negativity, frustrations and disappointments. Feeling blue because you don’t have as much money as you wanted by now? Perhaps you still don’t have your dream car or dream house?
Unrealistic expectations can lead to low self-esteem. Many of us would rather be debt-free by the time we’re 30, and we’d just love to own our house. But life just doesn’t always happen like this. Most people, indeed, do have money issues going into their thirties – it’s just the way it is.
It’s time to shift your focus from your frustrations and disappointments to positive attitude and firm belief that you can achieve your goals and dreams. Be firm, know that you can do it, and go for it. Your self-esteem will thank you.
9. Go For It
Confident people never put things off. If a potentially explosive email needs sending, they go right ahead and send it. If a friend is waiting for a callback, they go right ahead and call them up. If the house needs cleaning … you get the picture.
Our next tip on how to improve your self-esteem is to stop putting things off. If you’ve been aiming to eat a healthy meal this week, now is the time to eat it! Don’t think about things – just do them.
10. Dress Up!
Walking around town in dowdy, ill-fitting clothes is a great way to feel incredibly down in the dumps. It’s time to start dressing up, even if you’re only heading out to buy groceries. You’ll feel much more presentable, successful and confident. (Source: Beauty and Tips)

If you are a man and you don’t own any of these six types of shoes, you need to go shopping immediately! They are very important to have as a man. As fashion seasons come and go, the style conscious gent will quietly audit his wardrobe to identify any required updates – a key piece here, a fresh palette there.
But he should also have a good look down below, no, further down. Shoes are the foundation of every outfit, the anchor, if you will. Wearing the latest selvedge denim or wide-leg trousers amounts to precisely naught if it’s all undone with a pair of old, mouldy footwear. Allow us to break down the six essential shoes to seek out right now.
The sports shoe
Nowadays the ‘I-could-exercise-at-any-moment’ look is everywhere. As versatility is key, a sports shoe should happily do double duty at a café counter or a weights bench. If you’re still rocking chunky, fussy trainers with more neon than a Las Vegas casino update to lightweight, breathable tech fabrics with minimalist style. Nike’s Air Zoom Pegasus 33 Shield iD has all this plus the added bonus of letting you completely customise the colours of every element, right down to personalised text…say, your name or “catch me”.
The summer shoe
Thongs have pretty much been adopted as Australian national dress ever since we collectively decided that cork-brimmed hats were no longer a thing. Look, we’ve all got a pair of pluggers in the cupboard, but if they’re your summer go-to, it’s high time to upgrade. Espadrilles are a brilliant substitute, injecting a more European style sensibility without sacrificing anything in the way of comfort with a light, cool, pliable construction. Soludos has a rather natty smoking slipper version, bang on trend with embroidered motifs including an array of food truck snacks (think tacos and hotdogs) and, our favourite, a colourful French bulldog design.
The weekend shoe
For those off-duty days when casual cool is the order of the day, a classic, lo-rise white trainer hits all the right notes and provides a sharp counterpart to the sports shoe (namely that you wouldn’t contemplate scuffing them up through any form of exercise). A leather design in plain white is hard to beat right now. Or, at least, it was until Saint Laurent dropped its Court Classic star-applique kicks. Calling upon a key theme running through the label’s SS17 collection, these beauties elevate the humble tennis sneaker with a galaxy of silver stars garnishing the uppers, elevating the minimalist trainer trend with a certain celestial swagger.
The office shoe
If you’re harbouring pointed – or square – toed work shoes in the wardrobe, seek a style revision immediately. Likewise, if you’ve become wedded to the derby or Oxford lace up, it’s time to consider a shift away from those safe and sensible choices and look for a modern update. Like any business attire, the office shoe should exude a sense of confident discretion. Enter the monk strap. The clean, lace-free shape features masculine buckle detailing that adds a little more wow and is a little more ‘now’ than plainer alternatives. The monk is trending, so it can be found at all price points from Aquila to Gucci.
The dress shoe
When you head out after dark and need to look smart, it’s not enough to simply repurpose the office shoe. Even if no one else notices, you’ll feel like you’re dressing for work. Go for something special like John Lobb or Berluti, footwear that offers a touch of dandy sophistication, namely the evening loafer. To set it apart from its daytime counterpart it should have a heel and leather sole, with uppers in a dark, suitably luxurious textile such as patent leather or velvet. Certainly, this is a look that makes a statement, one that says “I’m prepared to take risks, yet I’m a classicist”. Step things up a notch with a feature tassel or hardware.
The boot
It’s all about the Chelsea boot right now and it’s not hard to see why. The signature, elasticised panel makes them easy enough to slip on while also contributing to a fuss-free aesthetic that offers up enviable versatility –they look just as great under denim or chinos as they do with a sharp suit. International labels are offering up their own versions ( Common Projects’ sand-coloured suede number is particularly slick), but for a go-anywhere-with-anything pair, you can’t go past homegrown luxury boot maker, R.M. Williams . ( Source: Executive style)

Chocolate has a very special place in our hearts. We love to eat it, drink it, cook with it and even use it for facials. There are plenty of myths and legends around this wonderful product.
Let’s talk about some interesting facts. Why chocolate is so amazing? Are there any reasons why this sweet ‘candy’ can be beneficial to our health?
In this article I will talk mostly about ‘real chocolate’ which is dark one, and which contains cocoa from 70% and higher.
Did you know that chocolate is good for your teeth?
It has antibacterial properties and can prevent the formation of caries (especially a very dark chocolate containing big percentage of cocoa). It contains fluorine which strengthens the teeth and protects them from decay. The bigger is percentage of cocoa in the chocolate, the stronger it’s health’ benefits become. For example, chocolate containing 99% of cocoa can even fight the bacteria.
Friend of our heart.
Yes, it’s true, chocolate is the friend of our health and of our heart! It contains polyphenols and antioxidants that protect our heart. Cocoa contains ‘good fats’ which have favourable affect on our blood cholesterol levels. Dark chocolate contains substances which protect blood vessel’s walls and this way it helps to reduce the risks of cardiovascular diseases.
Helper of youth?
Dark chocolate contains a lot of antioxidants, as well as vitamins, such as vitamins A, B, C, D, E (as well as many others) which are very beneficial for our health and youth. For example, the vitamin E helps to slow down the rate of cell’s ageing and oxidation.
Chocolate lifts up one’s mood.
It stimulates endorphin production, which gives us the feeling of pleasure.
Chocolate contains phenylethylamine which can lift up our mood, magnesium which can assist in fighting stress and help feel better and it also contains small amount of cannabinoids (substances from the same family as marijuana contains), but in chocolate the amount of them is very small, therefore, chocolate can’t give us a drug effect, but it can really improve our mood.
Unusual facial.
Chocolate can be used very efficiently as a facial mask. It’s recommended for people with dry skin, because this mask is very nourishing. To prepare the mask, take 50 grams of dark chocolate (containing 70% of cocoa or higher) and melt it. When this chocolate mass begins to cool down till the room temperature – add one table spoon of olive oil, mix it all up and apply on your face. (It’s important to pay attention to the temperature of this substance, it should be cooled down till the room temperature before you apply it on your face). After 10-15 min, rinse your face thoroughly.
“Choco-mask” will nourish your skin with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. After couple of times of doing this mask the skin becomes more firm, fresh looking and soft. If you have a very fair skin – the chocolate mask can give you slightly bronzed look (be aware of it).
Precautions before using any chocolate facials:
1) It’s not recommended to apply chocolate mask on a hyper sensitive skin, because it can cause allergic skin reactions. Also don’t use this mask if you are allergic to chocolate.
2) It’s not recommended to use chocolate facial if you have very oily skin type, because this mask is very nourishing.
3) When doing chocolate mask, use only pure dark chocolate without add-ons nor flavors; the chocolate should contain, at least, 70% of cocoa or more.
4) Apply chocolate mask only on clean skin.
5) If your skin is very fair, pay attention that chocolate mask can leave slightly darker, sometimes patchy, non-uniform bronzed colour.
Burst of energy.
Chocolate also contains tonic substance, which is very similar to caffeine, it gently stimulates the cardiovascular and nervous systems, causing a burst of energy, but it’s effect is much weaker than that of caffeine, and therefore it’s harmless.
Studies show that people who love and eat chocolate on a regular basis feel happier and almost never suffer from depression.
So, the conclusion is that dark chocolate, being a big exception from all other sweets, is very beneficial to our general wellbeing and health. According to some sources, chocolate also helps boost our immune system and, therefore, prevents a lot of illnesses. Of course, moderation is the key in everything.

To be taken seriously by your employer, it’s important to dress appropriately to the workplace. Whether you like it or not, the way you look plays a role in your success in the modern workplace. “The problem with appearance is that it translates to performance,” says Nicole Williams, a career expert at LinkedIn. “Even if your boss doesn’t think that they’re thinking any less of you, they will subconsciously think it. “When you don’t fit in, you’re not as accepted and welcomed.”
And at some point, this could hurt your chances of getting a promotion. In today’s workplace, where casual wear is becoming increasingly popular, it can be tricky to understand the rules of appearance. We talked to career and etiquette experts to get a better idea.
Below are 20 rules every professional should follow:
GENERAL TIPS
1. Understand what’s appropriate in your industry
“Everyone draws their lines differently,” says etiquette coach Barbara Pachter. “For example, you may be able to wear shorts, but not cut-offs. If your company has a dress code, follow it.”
2. Make sure your clothes fit
It may sound obvious, but many get it wrong. “If your clothes are too big or too small, they are not going to look good. Ensuring a proper fit applies to everything you are wearing,” says Pachter. “One interviewer said he was distracted by a man’s short tie.”
3. Wear glasses that fit
Make sure your glasses fit properly and aren’t sliding down your nose. You don’t want to be playing with them all the time, says Pachter. “This becomes distracting.”
4. Dry your hair
Never leave your house with wet hair, warns Williams. It makes you look like you don’t have your life together, which translates to not having your career together.
5. Pay attention to your bag
You don’t want your personal things jutting out of your purse or briefcase. Keep your bag clean on the inside, especially if it doesn’t have a zipper, which allows others to catch a glimpse inside from time to time. Williams also advises professionals not to wear knapsacks because it looks “too collegiate”.
6. Don’t wear strong perfume or cologne
“Anything that anyone else can smell is not good,” says Williams. To get an idea of whether someone can smell you or not, ask someone you trust.
7. Wear well-kept, polished shoes
“One recruiter told me the first thing he notices about a candidate is his or her shoes,” says Pachter. “Make sure your shoes are polished and in good condition.”
8. Pay attention to your watch
“When I ask the participants in my etiquette classes to name the one accessory that they notice most on both men and women, the watch is the most common answer,” Pachter says.
9. Wear rich colours to portray authority
“Pay attention to your colour choices,” Pachter says. “Darker colours usually convey a stronger impression than lighter ones.” If you’re giving a presentation, make sure the colour you’re wearing doesn’t blend in with the background behind you.
10. Avoid neon colours and overly flashy clothes
“Both men and women have to be cautious with bright colours,” Patcher says. Clothes that are too flashy can be distracting and the visual equivalent of shouting.
FOR WOMEN
11. Don’t be too sexy
Not only is wearing inappropriate clothing distracting, it can also give off an inaccurate impression. Avoid too-short hemlines, too-tall heels, plunging necklines, and exposed under garments. “A lot of women are oversexualized in the office,” says Williams. “You can wear a V-neck shirt, but make sure you keep your legs covered. People end up discrediting themselves by looking too provocative.” Pachter agrees: “What do you want to be remembered for? What you wore or what you said?”
12. Wearing nude pantyhose is hip
Ever since Kate Middleton started wearing pantyhose in public, it quickly became stylish again. “It gives you a more finished look,” Pachter says.
13. Get regular pedicures
Williams tells us one of her biggest pet peeves is when women wear open-toed shoes without getting pedicures. “If you’re going to show your toes, make sure your toes are well-groomed,” she says.
14. Don’t over-accessorise
Accessories are meant to complement your outfit, not overpower it. “I once met a woman who had a ring on every finger,” Pachter says. “You couldn’t look at anything else.”
15. Your jewellery shouldn’t make noise
It’s really distracting when someone’s dangly bangles make noises when they move their arms, says Williams.
FOR MEN
16. Avoid ankle socks with slacks
When you cross your legs and the pants slightly lift up, no skin should be showing, says Pachter. Your socks need to be an appropriate length.
17. Facial hair shouldn’t overwhelm your face
No matter how much you want to grow a full, bushy beard, it just might not work for you. Think about it like a haircut — not every cut is going to look good on every person, says Adam P. Causgrove, CEO of The American Moustache Institute. How do you know what style will look good on you? Determine what kind of face shape and features you have. Then find others with similar features who are already sporting moustaches and beards, and experiment with their cut and style.
18. Grow facial hair on a weekend or vacation
You want to look like you’ve grown hair on purpose instead of just being lazy and not shaving, says Causgrove. Williams advises using a weekend or vacation time to grow beards out, because “spotty beards make men look like 18-year-olds.”
19. Trim your beard
Facial hair needs to be kept trim and tidy to maintain a professional look. Causgrove advises doing some research on the proper device. Electric razors can be good for short, trimmed beards, and scissors are better for moustaches, he says.
20. A goatee is rarely a good idea
Any hair that’s under your lower lip that isn’t a beard is not a good idea, says Pachter. “Do you want to be the only person [with it]? It may work for you, it may work against you, but you need to make that decision for yourself,” she warns.

American Intelligence officials have long since concluded that Russia interfered in our election to help Donald Trump, but now the other giant Russian boot has dropped. The New York Times reports tonight that American intelligence and law enforcement officials have confirmed that members of Trump’s campaign for the presidency (as well as Trump associates) had contact with Russian intelligence officers during the presidential campaign.
As reported by GQ, the intercepts alarmed American intelligence and law enforcement agencies, in part because of the amount of contact that was occurring while Mr. Trump was speaking glowingly about the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin. At one point last summer, Mr. Trump said at a campaign event that he hoped Russian intelligence services had stolen Hillary Clinton’s emails and would make them public.
The officials said the intercepted communications were not limited to Trump campaign officials, and included other associates of Mr. Trump. On the Russian side, the contacts also included members of the Russian government outside of the intelligence services, the officials said. All of the current and former officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because the continuing investigation is classified.
Now the officials have said that so far there’s been no evidence that these calls were about manipulating the American election. We know that Russia hacked the DNC and John Podesta’s emails in what proved to be a successful effort to sway our election. Donald Trump’s campaign aides and close associates were in frequent contact with Russian government officials. One campaign aide who was allegedly in contact with Russia was Trump’s pre-Steve Bannon campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who gave the Times one of the least convincing denials anyone could imagine.
“This is absurd,” he said. “I have no idea what this is referring to. I have never knowingly spoken to Russian intelligence officers, and I have never been involved with anything to do with the Russian government or the Putin administration or any other issues under investigation today.”
Mr. Manafort added, “It’s not like these people wear badges that say, ‘I’m a Russian intelligence officer.’”
So Paul Manafort’s defense is basically, Who’s to say who is or who isn’t a Russian intelligence officer ? This may end up being the biggest political scandal in the history of the republic.
American Intelligence officials have long since concluded that Russia interfered in our election to help Donald Trump, but now the other gia...
The first step on the road to financial freedom is to eliminate debt . The second is to save for emergencies. Your emergency fund acts as self-insurance, cushioning you from small disasters.
Life is full of unexpected surprises, many of which cost money — a thief smashes the windshield of your car, your son gets sick, your water heater overflows. When people live paycheck to paycheck without any savings, they’re at the mercy of these small crises. Sometimes a tiny problem becomes a huge one because the victim didn’t prepare for possible trouble.
That’s where the emergency fund comes in. By setting aside a particular amount of mobey to cope with life’s slings and arrows, you alleviate worry that a flat tire or a broken bone might prevent you from doing the things you need to do. And once you’ve saved even more, you might find that you sleep more soundly at night.
Studies show that those without emergency savings are more likely to accumulate debt. An emergency fund is like cheap insurance. If you have a cash cushion, your financial plans can’t be derailed by a single unexpected event — unless it’s huge.
The opportunity fund
But not everything unexpected is bad. Sometimes life brings us lucky breaks — but these opportunities can still cost money. That’s why it makes sense to also keep a chunk of cash in an “opportunity fund.”
I first learned about opportunity funds from reading about billionaires and business owners. These savvy savers often set aside money specifically to take advantage of unexpected opportunities.
I once read an interview with Mark Cuban , for example, in which he described how a person should handle a windfall. “First, I pay off all my credit card debt and evaluate paying off any other debt I have,” he said. “What I have left I put in the bank.”
Why? “Because then it’s available for when I get a good opportunity. Every five years or so there is a bubble bursting or amazing deals available because of a change in the economy.”
Jim Wang (from the small-business blog microblogger.com) is a strong proponent of opportunity funds. “Missing out on an opportunity is often as bad as being struck by an unexpected expense,” Wang wrote for U.S. News last autumn. “In reality, both funds are important if you want to be financially responsible.”
Although I don’t strictly keep an opportunity fund the way I keep an emergency fund, I do keep enough cash on hand to take advantage of lucky breaks. For example:
When a friend wanted investors for his business, I had money to contribute. I’ve earned a handsome return because I could afford to take a risk.
When I spotted a great deal on a last-minute Alaskan cruise, I was able to book a fun (and relatively cheap) vacation.
When I found a deeply discounted display model at the local warehouse store, I was able to purchase a top-rated television at a bargain price.
Your opportunity fund doesn’t need to be as accessible as your emergency fund, so it’s OK to put the money in mutual funds or certificates of deposit . The fund will start small. But as your financial situation improves, you can contribute more and more to the account. In time, your opportunity fund will become large enough that you can do some truly amazing things — like take time off for a round-the-world trip with your best friend, or quit your job to start your own business, or buy that classic car you’ve always wanted.
Buying freedom
Over the past year, I’ve spoken with dozens of people who have achieved financial independence. These folks have accumulated enough capital that they’re no longer compelled to work for an income (although some choose to work for other motives). Many have remarked that money hasn’t bought them happiness; rather, it’s bought them freedom. When an opportunity arises, they can afford to take advantage of the situation.
This is an important point. Financial freedom isn’t an absolute thing. It’s not like you either have it or you don’t. Financial freedom exists on a continuum.
When you eliminate your debt, you increase your financial freedom.
When you build emergency savings, you increase your financial freedom.
When you boost your savings rate (whether by increasing income or decreasing expenses — or both), you increase your financial freedom.
And so on.
As you progress along the continuum of financial freedom from “enslaved by debt” to “financially independent,” you achieve certain milestones. For instance, you eventually reach a point where you have “Screw-It Money,” a cash cushion large enough that you you could quit your job, if you wanted.
The opportunity fund is another key component of financial freedom.

If you are new to exercising, or trying to improve the effectiveness of your routine, it can be tricky to work out which exercises really do work and which ones do not. You can always find some new-fangled exercise that will tie you up in knots, but the simplest and the most basic ones are often the best. Here are ten of those exercises what are guaranteed to get you major results.
1. Walking
Let’s get back to basics! However fit, or unfit, you are anyone can benefit’s from a brisk walk. You don’t need any equipment, you don’t even need to raise a sweat, but it will still raise your heart rate and burn off some calories. Step up the pace a bit when you walk and walk more often, then you will see major results without even really trying.
2. Squats
Squats are a really effective way of toning legs and your calves and they will tighten up your core too. If you don’t already, build some squats into your daily workout routine and you will be able to feel and see the difference they make. When you do squats, keep your back straight and your arms out in front of you for the maximum effect.
3. Push-ups
You can’t beat the old fashioned push-ups for toning your core and building up your arm muscles, and you don’t need any special equipment or weights. Push-ups are far more of an all-round exercise than you might have thought. They will strengthen your chest muscles, shape your triceps and your shoulders, and they help to tone your entire core too. They’re also a great way to burn off some calories, so try to repeat as many times as you can.
4. Dips
Whether you use a chair, a table, your bed, or you do them on the flow, dips will tone your arms and strengthen your back really effectively. Just sit with your arms at your sides and then lower yourself down and pull yourself up again. If you want to try floor dips, sit with your knees bent and your arms behind you and then lift yourself off the floor.
5. Planks
Planks are not at all complicated, but they will firm up your abs, and strengthen your core and arms. Start by getting yourself down in the push-up position, then bend your elbows and hold your weight on your forearms. Suck in your tummy and hold yourself out straight for as long as you can. The trick to getting the most of planks is to keep your back as straight as possible.
6. Lunges
Lunges are another of those classic exercises that are so effective. They tone up your legs, tighten up your backside, and they work off a few calories too. The trick with lunges is to make sure that you keep your back straight, your chin up, and your eyes looking forward. You should be looking at doing twenty lunges on each leg, but, like all these exercises, start off with what you feel comfortable with and then work your way up.
7. Leg raises
Leg raises will give you major results on your abs fast. Lay flat on your back with your hands at your side and, if you can manage it, raise both legs, keeping straight, until they are pointing at the ceiling. Raising both legs at the same time is tough, so if you struggle with that, try raising one leg at a time and alternating between the two. Just remember to keep those legs straight.
8. Crunches
Crunches are the best exercise for flat abs, but be careful how you do them, or you could hurt your back or neck. Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and place your hands behind your head, but not clasped together. Tilt your chin forward and lift your neck and shoulders off the floor. Hold that position for a moment and then let yourself gently back down to the floor.
9. Kneeling leg lift
This is a great exercise for toning your rear and strengthening your hamstrings. Kneel on the floor with your hands flat on the ground. Lift one leg out behind you so that it makes an “L” shape. Lower your leg down again and repeat with the other leg. Repeat raising alternate legs as many times as you can. Your target for this exercise is 40 times for each leg.
10. Mountain climbers
Mountain climbers are an effective, all-round body workout that will have a major impact on a range of different muscle groups and it’s especially good for the abs. Get yourself into the push-up position, with your arms extended. Lift one leg up and raise your knee up towards your chest, then return to the starting position and repeat the exercise with the other leg. Then, continue alternating legs for as many repetitions as you can manage.
Stay happy!
