Africa’s Oscars took place yesterday 4th of March 2017, apart from the award ceremony, what most people looked out for at the AMVCA are the dresses.
It was a black tie event as most celebrities came out in black, from Mo Abudu , Chioma Apotha, Beverly Naya, Mercy Johnson and lots more strutted in dark coloers. You know what they say about colours? if you can’t decide on a right color go black.

Toni Tones, this look comes straight out of vogue, Elle and Essence magazine. she was on the best dressed list last year and she came to slay this year. This dress took 4 months to make and is completely hand made by Lagos Fashion designer Yemi Shoyemi. Toni Tones was the best dressed of the day.
Toyin Abraham. This is Toyin like you have never seen before. From the hair to her makeup to her dress fits perfectly. Nothing was out of place. Her stylist did a good job.
Beverly Naya, Beverly is a national treasure and she always finds a way to make people run to the gym and question the whole thick brouhaha.
Chioma Apotha, is one of Nollywood’s finest but never have we seen her match a dress with attitude like this.
Rita Dominic, that dress was perfectly made for her body and she rocked it like the classy lady that she is.
Nana Akudo, she looks very elegant in this beautiful dress. This dress has no comparison.
Kehinde Bankole, this black number did justice to her figure and beauty. Kehinde looks smashing, lovely outfit.
Mercy Johnson, this conservative black dress gave the actress and mother a more sophisticated look. Though she may not be showing any skin, she does look very classy.
