The Punch reports that the body, a coalition of all indigenous youth groups and student groups in the South-west of Nigeria, said the committee to investigate the fitness level of the president should be made up of medical experts headed by Buhari’s own head doctor in libe with section 144 of the constitution.
The group said this at a press conference in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Friday, March 10 during the formal swearing in of the Oyo State Council Executive members.
Its national president Oladotun Hassan, said: “There are a lot of uncertainties surrounding the state of health of President Buhari and many Nigerians, particularly the over 70 per cent of the Yoruba people, who voted him into office, are even being denied information about the President’s state of health.
“As much as we wish him speedy recovery and good health to continue the good work he has started in the country, we want to say that the President must ensure he takes as much rest as he needs if he finds himself still unhealthy enough for the rigours of the office.
“The health of the President is more important to the nation. As such, we call on the National Assembly to set up a committee or panel to investigate the fitness and health status of the President, so that Nigerians will know the level of support to offer him.”
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria on Friday, March 10 after spending 49 days on vacation in the United Kingdom.
Further reports say the President might have to return to the UK in some weeks time to get even more treatment.

Sometimes the hardest thing about saving money is just getting started. It can be difficult to figure out simple ways to save money and how to use your savings to pursue your financial goals. This step-by-step guide to money-saving habits can help you develop a realistic savings plan.
1. Record your expenses
The first step to saving money is to figure out how much you spend. Keep track of all your expenses—that means every coffee, newspaper and snack you buy. Ideally, you can account for every penny. Once you have your data, organize the numbers by categories, such as gas, groceries and mortgage, and total each amount. Consider using your credit card or bank statements to help you with this. If you bank online, you may be able to filter your statements to easily break down your spending.
2. Make a budget
Once you have an idea of what you spend in a month, you can begin to organize your recorded expenses into a workable budget. Your budget should outline how your expenses measure up to your income—so you can plan your spending and limit overspending. In addition to your monthly expenses, be sure to factor in expenses that occur regularly but not every month, such as car maintenance. Find more information about creating a budget.
3. Plan on saving money
Now that you’ve made a budget, create a savings category within it. Try to put away 10–15 percent of your income as savings. If your expenses are so high that you can’t save that much, it might be time to cut back. To do so, identify non-essentials that you can spend less on, such as entertainment and dining out. We’ve put together ideas for saving money every day as well as cutting back on your fixed monthly expenses .
Tip: Considering savings a regular expense, similar to groceries, is a great way to reinforce good savings habits.
4. Choose something to save for
One of the best ways to save money is to set a goal. Start by thinking of what you might want to save for—anything from a down payment for a house to a vacation—then figure out how long it might take you to save for it. If you need help figuring out a time frame, try Bank of America’s savings goal calculator .
Here are some examples of short- and long-term goals:
Short-term (1–3 years)
Emergency fund (3–9 months of living expenses, just in case)
Vacation
Down payment for a car
Long-term (4+ years)
Retirement
Your child’s education
Down payment on a home or a remodeling project
*If you’re saving for retirement or your child’s education, consider putting that money into an investment account. While investments come with risks and can lose money, they also create the opportunity for compounded returns if you plan for an event far in advance. More details in step No. 6 below.
5. Decide on your priorities
After your expenses and income, your goals are likely to have the biggest impact on how you save money. Be sure to remember long-term goals—it’s important that planning for retirement doesn’t take a back seat to shorter-term needs. Prioritizing goals can give you a clear idea of where to start saving. For example, if you know you’re going to need to replace your car in the near future, you could start putting money away for one.
6. Pick the right tools
If you’re saving for short-term goals, consider using these FDIC-insured deposit accounts:
- Regular savings account
High-yield savings account, which often has a higher interest rate than a regular savings account - Bank money market savings account, which has a variable interest rate that could increase as your savings grow
- Certificate of deposit (CD), which locks in your money at a specific interest rate for a specific period of time
For long-term goals consider:
- FDIC-insured individual retirement accounts, which are tax-efficient savings accounts.
- Securities such as stocks or mutual funds. These investment products are available through. investment accounts with a broker-dealer. Remember that securities, such as stocks and mutual funds, are not insured by the FDIC, are not deposits or other obligations of a bank and are not guaranteed by a bank, and are subject to investment risks, including the possible loss of principal investment.
7. Make saving automatic
Almost all banks offer automated transfers between your checking and savings accounts. You can choose when, how much and where to transfer money to, or even split your direct deposit between your checking and savings accounts. Automated transfers are a great way to save money since you don’t have to think about it and it generally reduces the temptation to spend the money instead.
8. Watch your savings grow
Check your progress every month. Not only will this help you stick to your personal savings plan but it also helps you identify and fix problems quickly. These simple ways to save money may even inspire you to save more and hit your goals faster.

We’re all suckers for a good lip balm or mascara, but we also tend to be suckers for the wild beauty myths that run rampant throughout our lives. We hear about them on Twitter, from our moms and through the media, but some beauty myths are just that: Myths. Here, we break down 10 beauty myths we all fall for, and why you should think twice the next time you take on a myth as a rule.
1. Shaving will make your body hair grow back thicker. While you may think that your hair grows back thicker each time you shave, this is not the case. Much to our pleasant surprise, the hair just appears shorter and a bit more stubbly, making it seem thicker than it really is in between shaves.
2. Pumping your mascara brush makes for better application. Although you think you’re picking up more product, more air is being let into the mascara tube, making your mascara dry out sooner than it should. This leads to dry, flaky lashes and bacteria in the mascara tube. Instead, swirl the mascara wand inside the tube to pick up more product.
3. If you only use hot tools on your hair once in a while, you don’t need heat protectant spray. During the summer, we have more reservations than usual about using heat styling tools on our hair. Regardless of how often you use heat styling tools on your hair, you should be using a heat protectant spray each time.
4. There’s no way to prevent yellowing nails. While we know that consistently painting nails can eventually lead them to a yellow tint, there are a few ways to prevent and treat them. First, be sure to use a base coat before applying colored nail polish. Next, choose a top coat with UVA/UVB protection, helping to shield your nails from the sun. Also, use baking soda as a secret weapon to bring your nails back to life after heavy application of polish and when a yellow tint begins to appear.
5. Once your blush shatters after dropping it, it’s done. Hang on to that shattered makeup, ladies. All you need to do is pour rubbing alcohol into the broken compact or container and gently mix until the makeup turns to a clay consistency. Wait for the product to dry and you are set with makeup that’s good as new!
6. Wearing makeup every day is bad for your skin. While wearing tons of makeup can be cumbersome for the skin on your face, wearing makeup consistently won’t actually make your skin worse. Granted, a day with no makeup feels great, but the real culprit of skin damage is not consistently washing your makeup off (this means leaving makeup on overnight).
7. Your shampoo familiarizes itself to your hair and no longer performs. While it’s great to change up the hair products you use every once in a while, it’s not absolutely necessary. If your hair is feeling flat, dry or damaged after continued use of one specific shampoo, don’t blame the shampoo! Usually, the problem is due to product build up from hairsprays, serums, oils and more. If this happens, try a clarifying shampoo once per week and continue on with your regularly scheduled shampooing.
8. Certain hair products can eliminate split ends. While they are inevitable, we cannot eliminate them completely. Oils and serums are notorious for improving the situation that we call split ends, but the real remedy for split ends is a haircut.
9. Filing your nails can be done in any direction. Always file your nails in the same direction, allowing your nails to grow faster and longer. Filing from both directions on one nail can lead to breakage and peeling.
10. There’s no way to avoid getting lipstick on your teeth. Before you run out the door and start your day, there’s one trick that you’ll never be able to do without. Make an “O” shape with your mouth, and stick your pointer finger directly in the middle of the “O,” then pull out. The lipstick on the inside of your lips will come off on your finger, leaving your teeth free from lipstick’s harm.(Source: Women’s Health)

Bill Clinton, the former US president, has warned that America, Britain and other parts of the world are embroiled in an “identity crisis” as nationalist movements carve divisions within borders, the Guardian reports.
Clinton was making his first major public appearance on Thursday since his wife Hillary’s shock election defeat by Donald Trump, which robbed him of a widely trailed return to the White House.
Appearing relaxed and in good humour, the 42nd president spoke at the launch of a biography of Yitzhak Rabin, the late prime minister of Israel,
at the Brookings Institution thinktank in Washington. He made no reference to Trump or the bruising election but suggested that the rise of nationalism echoes the turmoil in Israel that led to the 1995 assassination of Rabin.
“In the microcosm of the Middle East he prefigured the battle that is now raging across the world, that you see in America, you see in the Brexit vote, you see in the Philippine election, you see in the debates being held in the Netherlands and France, all over, where people who claim to want the nation state are actually trying to have a pan-national movement to institutionalise separatism and division within national borders all over the world,” Clinton said.
“And nothing strikes people as unusual about that, in thinking that that loyalty is more important than the loyalty to the traditions, the rules, the laws, the development of your own nation. This is a global deal. It’s like we’re all having an identity crisis at once – and it is the inevitable consequence of the economic and social changes which have occurred at increasingly rapid pace.”
Rabin’s rise to become prime minister for the second time, putting some old adversaries in government, offering Israelis assurance that they could vote on a final peace deal and trying to reconcile conflicts within the country has lessons for the present, Clinton added.
“It is worth remembering that what happened 20 years ago is a microcosm of what is coming full bloom across the world today and these things are going to have to be worked out. He believed in the end we’d be better off sharing the future.”
In what could be construed as a dig at Trump, the former president said: “I think if you believe that climate change is real, if you believe that technology will give terrorists more options to kill people and basically delegitimise the whole idea of the nation state, then the idea of institutionalised internal conflict in nation after nation after nation is not the wisest strategy to pursue.”
Clinton, who campaigned for his wife across the country and recounted her story at the Democratic national convention only to suffer crushing disappointment in November, observed that people often “have found more political success and met the deep psychic needs people have had to feel that their identity requires them to be juxtaposed against someone else”.
He challenged the audience: “It always comes down to two things – are we going to live in an us and them world, or a world that we live in together? If you got that, in every age and time, the challenges we face can be resolved in a way to keep us going forward instead of taking us to the edge of destruction.”
Last year’s election featured moments that shocked even veteran observers when at the second presidential debate Trump paraded women who have previously accused Clinton of sexual abuse. On Thursday the Democrat decried an erosion of standards and said: “We have to find a way to bring simple, personal decency and trust back to our politics.”
He called the day of Rabin’s assassination – by an extremist Jew after Rabin had signed the Oslo peace accords with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat – as maybe his worst day in the White House. “I remain convinced that had he lived we would have achieved a comprehensive agreement with the Palestinians by 1998 and we’d be living in a different world today.”

Intense workouts and moderate exercises as walking have important health benefits.
Here are the main benefits of walking:
1. It stimulates heart activity, walking represents the training your heart needs in order to function optimally and to keep in shape. A 30-minute daily walking reduces the risk of heart attack in the same manner as an intense exercise program.
2. It maintains muscle tone. Walking increases your intake of nutrients and oxygen to the muscle level.
3. It improves blood circulation in the legs and prevents varicose veins.
4. Other benefits of walking include increasing the level of HDL (“good” cholesterol) and indirectly protecting your heart and circulatory system.
5. It improves the values of your blood pressure.
6. Walking stimulates the oxygenation of the tissues by the intensification of breathing.
7. It slows down the blood clots while maintaining its fluidity and thus protecting from thrombotic disorders or heart attacks.
8. It enhances the immune system by increasing the secretion of endorphins. The body will be better prepared to fight the infections.
9. When referring to the benefits of walking, it also involves your mental health: walking stimulates good mood and mental relaxation through endorphins secreted while walking. Along with other physiological factors, a 30-minute daily walking has conspicuously improved the mood of those with major depressive disorders.
10. Walking lowers the risk of cancer mortality. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows that those who have daily 3-kilometre walks have a risk of cancer mortality by two and a half times lower than those who do not.
11. It prevents diabetes, a 30-minute daily walking helps the muscles to become more sensitive to insulin and balances the blood glucose level.
12. It helps losing weight, within an hour walking you burn between 200 and 600 calories, depending on the pace.
13. Walking maintains stamina, physical activities nourish the brain and stimulate the production of neurons. Research has shown that in the case of persons over 50 years old, walking prevents memory issues.
14. The benefits of walking are really amazing. It significantly reduces the risk of brain attack: a study that has tracked more than 30000 people aged between 29 and 69, for a decade, has revealed that women who walk at least 35 minutes a day have a lower risk of brain attack, compared to those who don’t.
15. It maintains strong bones.

United States of America embassy in Nigeria yesterday denied claims that some Nigerians with valid travel documents were denied entry into the U.S and sent back on the next available flight, The Guardian reports.
It also stated that Nigeria was not in any way affected by the Executive Order on Immigration. While dismissing the allegation of refusal of entry into its country as untrue, the U.S urged Nigerians with valid visas, who intend to visit the country to feel free to do so and not postpone or cancel their planned trips.
The statement by the Information Office of the Embassy of the United States of America in Abuja, read in part: “The U.S. Embassy in Abuja wishes to clarify that there is no reason for Nigerians with valid visas to postpone or cancel their travel to the United States.
“Nigeria is not named in the Executive Order on Immigration issued on March 6, and there is no prohibition against Nigerian lawful permanent residents or persons with a valid visa or other U.S. government authorisation from entering the United States.”
Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Matters, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, had on Monday, advised Nigerians without urgent reasons to shelve their visits to the U.S pending a clearer immigration policy.
She had hinged her advice on the reports received by her office to the effect that some Nigerians with valid travel documents were denied entry into the U. S.
This was however, refuted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, on Tuesday that “We have absolutely no report whatsoever from the U.S. that our people are being turned back from the U.S. or any of our consulate or any Nigerian that any of our people are turned back.”
Meanwhile, the Italian government has deported 37 Nigerians over immigration-related offences. The deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA), Lagos, on Tuesday night. The deportees, who were all males, were brought back in a chartered aircraft with registration number OM-IEX.
Spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the development yesterday.

Every woman dreams of having graceful arms without cellulite especially when you cannot hide them under clothing with long sleeves.
Catherine Chirioglo, Unica Sport instructor, has put together different exercises to get beautiful and graceful arms. To perform the exercises for arms you need two dumbbells 1 or 2 kg. If you do not have dumbbells, replace them with two 500 ml bottles of water.
Sculpted Arms
1. Start the exercise in orthostatic position with legs shoulder-width apart, knees bent to reduce the tension in your back. Flex the arms forward, so that to form an angle of 90 degrees between the arm and forearm.
2. From this position, extend your arms parallel to the ground and return to starting position.
Perform the exercise 20 times. These movements involve your back muscles and arms. Keep torso and legs fixed during the exercise. Inspire through the nose to relax and exhale through the mouth while contracting the muscles.
Arms Without Cellulite
1. Start the exercise in orthostatic position with legs shoulder-width apart. Flex the knees to reduce the tension in the back. Place both hands near the trunk.
2. From this position, raise a hand up, then bend it in the back so the elbow toward the ceiling.
Then extend it again and return to starting position.
You will feel the triceps muscle. Repeat the exercise 15 times and rest. Then repeat also 15 times with the other hand. Control your breathing. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Firm Arms
1. Start the exercise in orthostatic position with legs shoulder-width apart and flex knees at shoulder level, to diminish the load of the back. Raise your arms above your head.
2. In this position inhale through the nose, and while exhaling flex arms forward so that your elbows are pointing up. Then return to starting position.
Perform 20 repetitions with one hand, then with the other. If the effort is too big for you, take a break and then continue. This exercise trains the triceps muscle.
Toned Arms
1. Start the exercise in orthostatic position with legs shoulder-width apart and bent knees, to diminish the load in the back. Keep the right hand up and the other near the trunk.
2. In this position inhale through the nose, and while exhaling simultaneously flex both hands: the upper hand goes back and the lower hand, flexes the chest. Then return to starting position.
Perform the exercises for arms 10 times, and then change hands and repeat 10 times again. The exercise trains biceps and triceps muscles. Keep legs and torso fixed during the exercise.
Graceful Arms
1. Start the exercise in orthostatic position with legs shoulder-width apart. Flex knees at shoulder level to reduce the load in your back. Keep the arms bent laterally at 90 degrees.
2. From this position, raise your arms parallel to the ground and return to starting position.
Repeat the exercise 30 times and rest. You will feel the arms muscles. During the exercise, keep the trunk fixed and abdomen tensed. Control your breathing. Inhale through the nose when muscles are relaxed and exhale through the mouth at their contraction
Thin Arms
1. Start the exercise in orthostatic position with legs shoulder-width apart. Flex the knees at shoulder level to diminish the load in the back. Extend arms sideways, parallel to the ground with the palms facing upwards.
2. From this position, bend one hand, and then the other. Keep your elbows at the same level with the shoulders and abs contracted.
Alternate 20 times. These exercises for arms are aimed to train biceps.
These exercises for arms are especially useful for women who have thin arms with hanging skin.
