According to a study of Women’s Health Initiative, at least 1,5-2,5 hours of walking per week reduces the risk of female breast cancer by 18%, while a 10-hour dynamic physical activity per week, even more!

Why fight against excess weight and obesity?
Important! Obesity is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer, specialists claim, whereas adipose tissue produces oestrogen hormone in menopause, which in excess can be responsible for the development of some types of tumours of mammary glands. In addition, obesity leads to high levels of insulin in the blood, also associated with the increased incidence of breast cancer. At the same time, according to experts, the fat stored in the abdomen and waist area is more offensive in this sense than that from the hips or thighs.

Low calorie diet is anticancer!
Research has determined that the incidence of breast cancer is much lower in countries where a low-calorie diet prevails, including healthy fats. The results of the studies underline the anticancer effect of fruits and vegetables in the diet. Diet rich in fruits and green, yellow, red, and orange vegetables reduces the risk of malign tumours.

Breastfeeding prevents mammary gland cancer
According to experts, breastfeeding, particularly prolonged until the age of 1,5-2 years or more, reduces the risk of malign tumours of mammary glands.

Alcohol in large quantities is responsible for the occurrence of breast cancer
Alcohol consumption is associated with an increased risk of developing breast cancer, in proportion to the quantity used. Philanthropist and Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh who recently spoke about her failed marriage to her estranged husband, Oladunni Churchill has reacted to the new video released by a Ghana news site where it is claimed she pulled a gun at her husband, Oladunni Churchill by the Ghanaian Police while fighting during one of their visit to his estate in Ghana in 2015.
The mother of one took to Instagram to call her husband a fraudster, yahoo yahoo boy, alleged killer of their unborn child through domestic violence and finally asked the policeman to also investigate his 419 schemes.

She wrote:

She also shared a picture of her bruised and abused body which she claimed was from her abusive husband Churchill. “It has been brought to my attention my EX is spreading scandalous & baseless lies about me, he has even resorted to some very intimidating tactics in a bid to discredit me and my story,” she said.
She insisted that everything she said about their marriage was the truth and not a ploy to ruin his image. She continued in her statement that she went through those experiences, she survived and has become a better person today.
“I would like to inform my antagonists that I have no problem with fighting back,I have said the truth and I have pictures and videos to back my story. I will not hesitate to use them to vindicate myself.”
“That I have not shared these strong evidence2 date is borne out of respect that this man remains the father of my son.In the event that he will resort to lies in a bid to save face & further tarnish my image becomes unwarranted insult upon severe physical & mental injury.”
She added that her sole intentions were to help people and not smear anyone’s image. She ended with a warning directed to her husband, “…I strongly advice that you mrX be warned”

There is a lot of misinformation about sex, sexual health and sexually transmitted disease (STD). Perhaps, you have heard of the famous myth of getting an infection from a toilet seat or that the most commonly-infected group of people are the sex workers? Although some of these beliefs sound true, not all are supported by facts or are just plain myths. Of course, the only way to be 100 percent safe is by abstaining from any forms of sex (vaginal, anal or oral). However, if you are a sexually active individual, you need to be informed and know what’s true—and what’s not.

Here are some of the things that people commonly get wrong about sexually transmitted disease:
Myth: You can get herpes from a toilet seat.
Fact: Herpes is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact.
The herpes simplex virus (HPV) is transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact. Unless you and your partner had sex on a toilet seat, which is very unlikely, it’s impossible to catch an infection from the toilet According to Singapore health experts, transmission of the virus from a toilet seat falls under ‘generally impossible.’ So while you’re worrying whether the toilet is wet or dry to sit on, you can leave the worries of catching HPV behind.

Myth: A Pap test can serve as an STD test.
Fact: There are specific tests for STDs.
A Pap test is a test to specifically check a woman’s vagina or cervix for any presence of cancerous cells. While some STDs can be early signs of cancer and can be detected through fast STD test in Singapore, many do not and are often overlooked in this test. Some women assume that when they undergo a Pap test, they are also tested for STDs. To be sure, talk to your healthcare provider about STD testing and see what STD test he or she recommends for you.

Myth: It’s impossible to catch an STD by getting a tattoo, since it’s not like having sex.
Fact: Blood-borne infections can transfer through needle sharing.
If your tattoo is the sticker type one, then there should be no risk for STDs. However, if it is the permanent one that entails the use of needles, then you’re at serious risk for HIV and other blood-borne infections like hepatitis B and C. To avoid any possibility of infection, make sure that the instruments used for tattooing have been sterilized and disinfected, especially the equipment used to pierce or cut the skin. Ask the staff at the tattoo parlor about their tools and precautionary measures. They should unambiguously disclose these information to you; if not, get inked somewhere else.
Myth: You can get HIV from mosquitoes.
Fact: While mosquitoes suck blood, they do not transfer blood-borne infections.
HIV and other blood-borne infections are not transmitted by mosquitoes. Singapore researches about HIV and STDs have shown no evidence about transmission of diseases from mosquitoes or any other insects—even in places where there are higher cases of STDs and large population of mosquitoes.

Myth: Only prostitutes get infected with STDs.
Fact: STDs do not discriminate.
Rich and poor people can get STDs. Athletes and mathematicians can also get infected. CEOs and ordinary employees can also catch them. Even a virgin who is having sex for the first time can get infected. The only people who are safe from STDs are those who have not had any kind of sexual contact in their lives. What can you do to stay safe? Use condom every time you’re having sex, and get screened regularly.

Myth: You will know it if your partner has STD.
Fact: Most of the time, there’s no sign that a person is infected.
Even your partner cannot detect presence of STD in his system unless he submits himself for an STD testing. STDs do not always show symptoms, and it is possible to spread the virus without experiencing an outbreak. If left untreated, infections can cause serious reproductive problems, like infertility or pelvic inflammatory disease, and may cause difficulty in getting pregnant or during the pregnancy stage.

Myth: Anal or oral sex is the way to go to avoid STDs.
Fact: As long as there’s sex (vaginal, oral, or anal), there’s risk for STDs.
The bacteria and viruses that cause STDs can infect the body by entering through microscopic cuts and tears in the genital, rectum, and mouth. Some infections, like genital warts and herpes, can be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact with a sore or an infected area. Whether it is oral or anal sex, it is safer to use a dental dam or condom to avoid direct skin-to-skin contact. If you can’t handle the taste of latex, there are flavoured condoms specifically made for added pleasure during oral sex.

Myth: Once you catch an STD, you will get immune to it.
Fact: It is possible to get infected more than just once.
Viral infections, like HIV and herpes, stay in your system once you get them; while bacterial infections, like gonorrhoea and chlamydia, can be cured with antibiotics. However, it is possible to catch them again if you get in contact with an infected person. Using condoms or other barrier method will keep you safe from contracting an STD, as well as undergoing regular STD screening for early detection and better chances of cure.

Myth: As long as you’re STD-free, your partner does not need to get checked.
Fact: If your partner has had partner(s) before you, he should get checked.
Who wants to waste all their efforts from going through regular STD testing, keeping themselves as healthy as possible, and then ending up catching an infection from a partner anyway? The best you can do is to get tested together. This may not be your idea of romantic date, but nothing says ‘I care’ better than trying to protect your beloved from a potentially fatal illness.
There are more myths out there about STDs, and the ones we have stated above are just a few and the most common of them. The most important point here is to get an STD test regularly. While these illnesses may cause embarrassment for many of us, it is more important to remember that many of these infections can be life-threatening if left unattended. If detected and treated early, damages are minimized and infertility issues (or even death) can be avoided.

Sometimes the hardest thing about saving money is just getting started. It can be difficult to figure out simple ways to save money and how to use your savings to pursue your financial goals. This step-by-step guide to money-saving habits can help you develop a realistic savings plan.

1. Record your expenses
The first step to saving money is to figure out how much you spend. Keep track of all your expenses—that means every coffee, newspaper and snack you buy. Ideally, you can account for every penny. Once you have your data, organize the numbers by categories, such as gas, groceries and mortgage, and total each amount. Consider using your credit card or bank statements to help you with this. If you bank online, you may be able to filter your statements to easily break down your spending.

2. Make a budget
Once you have an idea of what you spend in a month, you can begin to organize your recorded expenses into a workable budget. Your budget should outline how your expenses measure up to your income—so you can plan your spending and limit overspending. 3. Plan on saving money
Now that you’ve made a budget, create a savings category within it. Try to put away 10–15 percent of your income as savings. If your expenses are so high that you can’t save that much, it might be time to cut back. To do so, identify non-essentials that you can spend less on, such as entertainment and dining out. 4. Choose something to save for
One of the best ways to save money is to set a goal. Start by thinking of what you might want to save for—anything from a down payment for a house to a vacation—then figure out how long it might take you to save for it. *If you’re saving for retirement or your child’s education, consider putting that money into an investment account. 5. Decide on your priorities
After your expenses and income, your goals are likely to have the biggest impact on how you save money. Be sure to remember long-term goals—it’s important that planning for retirement doesn’t take a back seat to shorter-term needs. Prioritizing goals can give you a clear idea of where to start saving. For example, if you know you’re going to need to replace your car in the near future, you could start putting money away for one.

6. Pick the right tools
If you’re saving for short-term goals, consider using these FDIC-insured deposit accounts:

Regular savings account
High-yield savings account, which often has a higher interest rate than a regular savings account
Bank money market savings account, which has a variable interest rate that could increase as your savings grow
Certificate of deposit (CD), which locks in your money at a specific interest rate for a specific period of time

For long-term goals consider:

FDIC-insured individual retirement accounts, which are tax-efficient savings accounts.
Securities such as stocks or mutual funds. These investment products are available through. investment accounts with a broker-dealer. 7. Make saving automatic
Almost all banks offer automated transfers between your checking and savings accounts. You can choose when, how much and where to transfer money to, or even split your direct deposit between your checking and savings accounts. Automated transfers are a great way to save money since you don’t have to think about it and it generally reduces the temptation to spend the money instead.

We hear about them on Twitter, from our moms and through the media, but some beauty myths are just that: Myths. Here, we break down 10 beauty myths we all fall for, and why you should think twice the next time you take on a myth as a rule.
1. Shaving will make your body hair grow back thicker. While you may think that your hair grows back thicker each time you shave, this is not the case. Much to our pleasant surprise, the hair just appears shorter and a bit more stubbly, making it seem thicker than it really is in between shaves.

2. Pumping your mascara brush makes for better application. Although you think you’re picking up more product, more air is being let into the mascara tube, making your mascara dry out sooner than it should. This leads to dry, flaky lashes and bacteria in the mascara tube. Instead, swirl the mascara wand inside the tube to pick up more product.

3. If you only use hot tools on your hair once in a while, you don’t need heat protectant spray. During the summer, we have more reservations than usual about using heat styling tools on our hair. Regardless of how often you use heat styling tools on your hair, you should be using a heat protectant spray each time.

4. There’s no way to prevent yellowing nails. While we know that consistently painting nails can eventually lead them to a yellow tint, there are a few ways to prevent and treat them. First, be sure to use a base coat before applying colored nail polish. Next, choose a top coat with UVA/UVB protection, helping to shield your nails from the sun. Also, use baking soda as a secret weapon to bring your nails back to life after heavy application of polish and when a yellow tint begins to appear.

5. Once your blush shatters after dropping it, it’s done. Hang on to that shattered makeup, ladies. All you need to do is pour rubbing alcohol into the broken compact or container and gently mix until the makeup turns to a clay consistency. Wait for the product to dry and you are set with makeup that’s good as new!

6. Wearing makeup every day is bad for your skin. While wearing tons of makeup can be cumbersome for the skin on your face, wearing makeup consistently won’t actually make your skin worse. Granted, a day with no makeup feels great, but the real culprit of skin damage is not consistently washing your makeup off (this means leaving makeup on overnight).

7. Your shampoo familiarizes itself to your hair and no longer performs. While it’s great to change up the hair products you use every once in a while, it’s not absolutely necessary. If your hair is feeling flat, dry or damaged after continued use of one specific shampoo, don’t blame the shampoo! Usually, the problem is due to product build up from hairsprays, serums, oils and more. If this happens, try a clarifying shampoo once per week and continue on with your regularly scheduled shampooing.

8. Certain hair products can eliminate split ends. While they are inevitable, we cannot eliminate them completely. Oils and serums are notorious for improving the situation that we call split ends, but the real remedy for split ends is a haircut.

9. Filing your nails can be done in any direction. Always file your nails in the same direction, allowing your nails to grow faster and longer. Filing from both directions on one nail can lead to breakage and peeling.

10. There’s no way to avoid getting lipstick on your teeth. Before you run out the door and start your day, there’s one trick that you’ll never be able to do without. Make an “O” shape with your mouth, and stick your pointer finger directly in the middle of the “O,” then pull out. The lipstick on the inside of your lips will come off on your finger, leaving your teeth free from lipstick’s harm.(Source: Women’s Health)
