Emerging report reaching Post-Nigeria, has revealed that Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhamamdu Buhari, has designated himself as the Acting President, by intentionally inserting the clause “National Coordinator” referring to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, in Buhari’s letter to the Senate, before Mr President embarked on another medical vacation, last Sunday.

Sahara Reporters, reported that Kyari’s main goal in using the word “Coordinator”, tagged in the President’s letter to the National Assembly, was to retain considerable power and influence around his office and person, most especially when the President is not around.

It was also learnt that: ”Besides VP Osinbajo, Abba Kyari considers Ministers, such as Lai Mohammed, Babatunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi, Audu Ogbeh, Hadi Sirika, Malami, and Jumai Alhassan, as those he should cut off from the President”, a source said.

“He was so furious in January, when the President was away for 50 days, because all the Ministers whose access to Mr. President he had tried to curtail, started getting approvals and access with the Acting President, very promptly”, one source said.

Presidential sources further revealed that, Kyari has already asserted himself as the Acting President, by moving vital documents out of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s reach.

“On more than one occasion, Kyari, put himself up to assignments that should have gone to a Minister, if the President and his Vice were not available”, sources noted.

They cited a recent example of what happened last Sunday, when the 82 Chibok girls were released. Kyari, “took it upon himself to go and receive the girls, without informing the Women Affairs Minister, Jumai Alhassan, whose Ministry is responsible for everything pertaining to the Chibok girls, in the Buhari administration”, a government insider said.

An official source who attended the reception, also said Kyari side-lined the media team of the President, and carried out official functions meant for the Vice President, and other appointees of Buhari.

Regarding the reception for the freed Chibok girls, sources disclosed that the Information Minister, and the Women Affairs Minister, got wind of the event, and simply showed up to attend in spite of Kyari’s “standoffishness”.

Washington, USA– President Trump is expected to appoint a commission on Thursday to study his unproven allegations of voter fraud in last year’s presidential election, as he continues to grapple with the fallout from his abrupt and controversial firing of FBI Director James Comey, USA Today reports.
Vice President Mike Pence and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach will be chairman and vice-chairman of the commission, which is expected to be composed largely of state and local election officials from both parties, officials said:

“The Commission will review policies and practices that enhance or undermine the American people’s confidence in the integrity of Federal elections – including improper registrations, improper voting, fraudulent registrations, fraudulent voting, and voting suppression,” the White House said in a statement.
Trump, who lost the popular vote to Democrat Hillary Clinton by nearly 2.9 million votes, has claimed that last year’s election included up to 3 to 5 million fraudulent voters – but there is no evidence to back this assertion.
Trump plans to sign an executive order creating the commission as Democrats and other critics accuse him of firing Comey to obstruct an ongoing investigation into possible collusion between Trump campaign associates and Russians who tried to influence last year’s election.
The president is planning a visit to the FBI headquarters in the coming days to calm the waters, administration officials said. But the unexpected announcement of the new commission – which was not on Trump’s public schedule for the day – might be seen as a way to distract from the firestorm unleashed by the Comey firing earlier this week.
Meanwhile, federal and state election officials from both parties have disputed Trump’s claims of massive voter fraud. They say there have been few, if any, incidents of people voting when they were not registered – or voting by people who were not American citizens.
“Every election is going to have issues, but I don’t think that three to five million people voting illegally was one of those issues,” said Thomas Hicks, chairman of the federal Election Assistance Commission said in January in USA TODAY .
Election officials have said they worry Trump’s claims could shake the faith of voters, particularly at a time when the FBI and Congress are investigating whether Russia interfered in last year’s presidential election.
For his part, Trump has stood by his claim.
“We’ll see after the committee,” Trump told Time magazine in March.
Trump had originally been expected to sign the executive order creating the voter commission in late January, but it has been consistently been put off.
Already, voting rights advocates are blasting Thursday’s expected order.
“In no uncertain terms we condemn the launch of this so-called Presidential Commission on Election Integrity,’’ Kristen Clarke, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, said in a statement. “President Trump is trying to create a distraction from actual threats to our democracy, such as ongoing voter suppression and Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.’’
Voting rights advocates say the administration should focus on making access to the polls easier instead of unfounded claims of voter fraud. They argue some lawmakers are using the claim to ramp up more restrictive election laws.
States, mostly controlled by Republican legislatures, have adopted more election laws, including voter ID, in recent years. Supporters say they help protect against voter fraud.
Trump’s order get support from some Republican lawmakers, who have welcomed a federal investigation into allegations of voter fraud.
“Safeguarding our democracy requires fair and accurate elections,” Rep. Gregg Harper, R-Miss., chairman of the House Administration Committee, which has jurisdiction over federal elections, said earlier this year.

Ufuoma Ejenobor is a Nollywood actress who came into the entertainment scene when she emerged as the first runner up at the annually held Miss Nigeria beauty pageant.

Early Life & Education
Ejenobor was born on the 23rd April, 1981 in Benin City to Nigerian parents who hail from Delta State in Nigeria. She moved from Benin City to Jos, where she spent the better part of her toddler years, and later to Lagos, where she has lived for the greater part of her life and still resides till date. At the age of seven, her father coined a pet name for her: ISIO (which means “star” in Urhobo). She was so named after the star actress of the TELEFEST programme put together by NTA Benin, The Pot of Life.
She went through Alama Private School Jos, Plateau state, Tunwase Nursery and primary school Ikeja, Lagos and finally Molly International Nursery and primary Ajao Estate for her nursery and primary education. She then attended Federal Government College Odogbolu Ogun state for her secondary education.
Ufuoma later bagged a degree in French language from the University of Lagos where she partook in a Federal Government scholarship holiday programme. She also has certificates and diplomas from Alliance Française and NIIT. She holds a master’s degree in Public and International Affairs, also from the University of Lagos.
In 2011, She attended New York Film Academy in Los Angeles for an acting course and later on a film making course from Dov Simen’s Hollywood Film Institute. In 2013, she obtained a certificate in Human resource management from the London Business School.
In Summer 2015, she was part of the Relativity Education program from Nigeria, owned by Relativity Media in Beverly Hills.

Career
In 2000, the actress launched her career in photography modelling before moving to fashion runway and then competing in beauty pageants. By 2002, she had participated in two mini-pageants, won the Miss Ebony beauty pageant and partaken in her first national pageant: Miss Commonwealth(Vanessa Ekeke), where she won the Miss Congeniality prize. Later the same year, she emerged 1st runner up in the queen Afrik beauty pageant.
In 2004 she contested in the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant, where she emerged first runner up nut this did not deter her from winning the crown at Miss Earth Nigeria and representing the country at the Miss Earth International pageant in the Philippines. She eventually left this career path behind her to focus more on her acting.
She made her acting debut with Zeb Ejiro’s The President Must Not Die in 2004 and by May 2005, she played her first lead role in Life and Death, her third movie after The President Must Not Die and Guy on the Line.

Personal life
Ejenobor got married on 23 April 2010 to Steven McDermott. She officially changed her name to Ufuoma McDermott on May 23, 2014 at a Lagos high court. Ufuoma and Steven McDermott have two children: son Isio Jared (born 10 October 2012) and daughter Kesiena Alize (born 8 August 2015).

We all know that smoking is bad for you, and smoking in pregnant women can be especially dangerous as it affects the health of their children. However, a recent study explains a new risk; maternal smoking can lead to severe mental illness in children.

A study now published online in JAMA Psychiatry has found that children of mothers who smoke during pregnancy raise the risk of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other serious mental health conditions in their offspring. Results revealed children exposed to moderate and high levels of smoking during pregnancy had greater severe mental illness rates than children who weren’t exposed. These results remained even when sibling comparison ruled out the possibility of genetic and environmental influences.

The study didn’t prove that smoking caused severe mental illness in offspring, the researchers said in a recent press release. “Rather, these results suggest that much of the observed population-level association can be explained by measured and unmeasured factors shared by siblings,” the article concludes.

For the study, the team of researchers, led by by Patrick D. Quinn, Ph.D., of Indiana University, Bloomington, analyzed data for nearly 1.7 million people born in Sweden to understand the differences between children born to mothers who smoked during pregnancy and those born to mothers who did not not smoke. While results suggested that maternal smoking during pregnancy did significantly raise the risk of mental health conditions in offspring later on in life, the team admitted that it may be too early to conclude that one action without a doubt led to the other.

This is not the first time that schizophrenia has been linked to maternal smoking during pregnancy. In 2016, reseachers from Colombia University Medical Center found that smoking during pregnancy causes changes to the fetus’ DNA that lead to mental health issues later in life such as increased risk of schizophrenia.

“To our knowledge, this is the first biomarker-based study to show a relationship between fetal nicotine exposure and schizophrenia,” said Dr. Alan Brown, senior author and Mailman School professor of epidemiology and professor of clinical psychiatry at CUMC, in a press release. “We employed a nationwide sample with the highest number of schizophrenia cases to date in a study of this type.”
