President Donald Trump railed against the “fake media” in a series of Twitter postings early on Friday, going as far as threatening to cancel daily news briefings at the White House, Punch reports.
A political firestorm has engulfed Washington since Trump’s sacking of FBI director James Comey, who was leading the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump election campaign and Russia.
Trump once again went after Comey, whom he had called a “showboat” and “grandstander” in an interview on Thursday.
“James Comey better hope that there are no “tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press” Trump threatened on Twitter.
The White House has offered contradicting explanations for Trump’s surprise firing of Comey on Tuesday, fueling accusations he was attempting to shut down the FBI probe.
In addition to blasting Comey, the president also took the opportunity to lash out at the press: “The fake media is working overtime today.
“As a very active president with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with perfect accuracy,” Trump said.
He wrote that “all future” White House briefings with reporters could be scrapped and replaced with written responses to questions.

Hijab even without being told is symbolical to women of the Islamic faith. It’s an “accessory” I should say that is wrapped from the head to the neck region of the body. The hijab can be in form of turbans too and is quite becoming a piece that non-Islamic women are appreciating.
Without much ado about hijabs, I particularly love what hijab fashion bloggers are doing with this trend. Here are few tips & tricks to looking good in a stylish hijab.
- There are factors that determine the type of fabric you should use on your head. Factors like weather, type of hair etc. For a sunny weather, it’s best to use silk or a light weight fabric.
- Hijabs should complement your outfits. Don’t just pick an hijab for the sake of picking. Let it blend with your outfit as well. Make it stylish and beautifully wrapped on your head.
- Try different fabrics from silk to prints, cotton to velvet etc. Go for loud colours when necessary but make sure it’s done modestly.
- If you have noticed, the longer the hijab, the better it’s well wrapped on the head and also long hijabs help in making different styles.

Emerging report reaching Post-Nigeria, has revealed that Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhamamdu Buhari, has designated himself as the Acting President, by intentionally inserting the clause “National Coordinator” referring to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, in Buhari’s letter to the Senate, before Mr President embarked on another medical vacation, last Sunday.
Sahara Reporters, reported that Kyari’s main goal in using the word “Coordinator”, tagged in the President’s letter to the National Assembly, was to retain considerable power and influence around his office and person, most especially when the President is not around.
It was also learnt that: ”Besides VP Osinbajo, Abba Kyari considers Ministers, such as Lai Mohammed, Babatunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi, Audu Ogbeh, Hadi Sirika, Malami, and Jumai Alhassan, as those he should cut off from the President”, a source said.
“He was so furious in January, when the President was away for 50 days, because all the Ministers whose access to Mr. President he had tried to curtail, started getting approvals and access with the Acting President, very promptly”, one source said.
Presidential sources further revealed that, Kyari has already asserted himself as the Acting President, by moving vital documents out of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s reach.
“On more than one occasion, Kyari, put himself up to assignments that should have gone to a Minister, if the President and his Vice were not available”, sources noted.
They cited a recent example of what happened last Sunday, when the 82 Chibok girls were released. Kyari, “took it upon himself to go and receive the girls, without informing the Women Affairs Minister, Jumai Alhassan, whose Ministry is responsible for everything pertaining to the Chibok girls, in the Buhari administration”, a government insider said.
An official source who attended the reception, also said Kyari side-lined the media team of the President, and carried out official functions meant for the Vice President, and other appointees of Buhari.
Regarding the reception for the freed Chibok girls, sources disclosed that the Information Minister, and the Women Affairs Minister, got wind of the event, and simply showed up to attend in spite of Kyari’s “standoffishness”.

He said the present situation showed that there was more work to be done to achieve patient safety in Nigeria and in Africa.

Washington, USA– President Trump is expected to appoint a commission on Thursday to study his unproven allegations of voter fraud in last year’s presidential election, as he continues to grapple with the fallout from his abrupt and controversial firing of FBI Director James Comey, USA Today reports.
Vice President Mike Pence and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach will be chairman and vice-chairman of the commission, which is expected to be composed largely of state and local election officials from both parties, officials said:
“The Commission will review policies and practices that enhance or undermine the American people’s confidence in the integrity of Federal elections – including improper registrations, improper voting, fraudulent registrations, fraudulent voting, and voting suppression,” the White House said in a statement.
Trump, who lost the popular vote to Democrat Hillary Clinton by nearly 2.9 million votes, has claimed that last year’s election included up to 3 to 5 million fraudulent voters – but there is no evidence to back this assertion.
Trump plans to sign an executive order creating the commission as Democrats and other critics accuse him of firing Comey to obstruct an ongoing investigation into possible collusion between Trump campaign associates and Russians who tried to influence last year’s election.
The president is planning a visit to the FBI headquarters in the coming days to calm the waters, administration officials said. But the unexpected announcement of the new commission – which was not on Trump’s public schedule for the day – might be seen as a way to distract from the firestorm unleashed by the Comey firing earlier this week.
Meanwhile, federal and state election officials from both parties have disputed Trump’s claims of massive voter fraud. They say there have been few, if any, incidents of people voting when they were not registered – or voting by people who were not American citizens.
“Every election is going to have issues, but I don’t think that three to five million people voting illegally was one of those issues,” said Thomas Hicks, chairman of the federal Election Assistance Commission said in January in USA TODAY .
Election officials have said they worry Trump’s claims could shake the faith of voters, particularly at a time when the FBI and Congress are investigating whether Russia interfered in last year’s presidential election.
For his part, Trump has stood by his claim.
“We’ll see after the committee,” Trump told Time magazine in March.
Trump had originally been expected to sign the executive order creating the voter commission in late January, but it has been consistently been put off.
Already, voting rights advocates are blasting Thursday’s expected order.
“In no uncertain terms we condemn the launch of this so-called Presidential Commission on Election Integrity,’’ Kristen Clarke, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, said in a statement. “President Trump is trying to create a distraction from actual threats to our democracy, such as ongoing voter suppression and Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.’’
Voting rights advocates say the administration should focus on making access to the polls easier instead of unfounded claims of voter fraud. They argue some lawmakers are using the claim to ramp up more restrictive election laws.
States, mostly controlled by Republican legislatures, have adopted more election laws, including voter ID, in recent years. Supporters say they help protect against voter fraud.
Trump’s order get support from some Republican lawmakers, who have welcomed a federal investigation into allegations of voter fraud.
“Safeguarding our democracy requires fair and accurate elections,” Rep. Gregg Harper, R-Miss., chairman of the House Administration Committee, which has jurisdiction over federal elections, said earlier this year.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has said the controversy over the current status of Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is a mere distraction.
Mohammed, said this while addressing State House journalists after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by Osinbajo.
Recall that Senate President, Bukola Saraki on tuesday during plenary read a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari informing the legislature of his medical vacation in the United Kingdom.
However, the letter was criticized by one of the lawmakers, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who argued that the letter was ambigous and thereby should be disregarded.
According to Senator, “Whenever the President transmits to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives a written declaration that he is proceeding on vacation or that he is unable to discharge the functions of his office, until he transmits to them the written declaration to the contrary, such function shall be discharged by the Vice-President as Acting President.
“Mr. President, I don’t think in our Constitution we have anything like ‘coordinating president’ or ‘coordinating vice president.’ It is either you are vice president or you are acting president and any letter (on transfer of power) should be unambiguous and very clear. So, I am saying that this letter really does not convey anything because ‘coordinating’ has no space or any place in our Constitution.”
Saraki, who presided over the plenary, however, ruled Ohuabunwa out of order.
According to the minister: “It’s a needless controversy, it’s just a distraction, the operating sentence is that in compliance of section 145(1), any other word used is not relevant.”
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has said the controversy over the current status of Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is ...
France, the land of style, fashion and some of the best cosmetics, has also given us the image of the effortlessly perfect French woman. Always impeccably dressed and made up, with flawless skin and hair, this image has caused a lot of envy. So, how do they do it? Of course, not all French women are this perfect – no nationality can boast all-perfect women or men – but there are some tips and tricks that are special to the ladies in France and help them maintain their good looks. According to beautyandtips.com, here are some of them:
1. Abundance of water
First one of important French beauty secrets is abundant hydration. Yes, we all know that hydration from within is essential for healthy, glowing skin and hair, but do we drink as much water as necessary? The French do. And they don’t just drink it, they also spray it on their faces. We’re talking about mineral water, of course, from the famed hot springs of France. Many cosmetics makers put mineral water in their products too.
2. Tradition
Girls grow up in France being taught grandma’s and mum’s beauty routine, so they develop as beauty-conscious and health-conscious individuals, which can only be beneficial, if done in moderation. “This was grandma’s favourite face mask…”, “Grandma always used to wash her face before she went to bed”, this sort of thing tends to stick.
3. Makeup rule of ‘less is best’
The French rule for doing makeup is ‘less is more’. It’s more important that you have healthy skin, albeit freckled, than acne-stricken skin hidden under a tonne of makeup. French ladies prefer the natural way, so they really tend to stop at the basics, when using makeup. A couple of coats of mascara and some lipstick is the usual choice.
4. Bedtime beauty routine
Having said that, we need noting that whatever little makeup they use, French women make sure they never go to bed without removing it and washing their face. However, using water on the face is also done in moderation – washing it too often, even with plain water and no soaps, tends to dry the skin eventually.
5. No hair driers
In France hair driers are not the most popular consumer electronics. Leaving the hair to dry naturally, without even brushing it, while it’s wet, is another one of popular French beauty secrets, and there’s a good reason for it. Blowdrying does more than you need, it makes the hair too dry and brittle, and you don’t want that. Just let it dry in its own time.
6. Twice a week
Speaking of hair, we need to say something about washing routines. Forget about shampoo every day, in France they do it twice a week, in order to retain the nourishing oils that the scalp releases into the hair. Disgusting? Au contraire! This is the healthy way to keep your hair strong and shiny, and, yes, clean.
7. No staring at the sun
Another one of important French beauty secrets is to avoid direct sun exposure. Vitamin D is all very good but direct exposure to the sun is not. French ladies know how harmful the sun rays can be and they do everything they can to avoid them, even if it means carrying an umbrella in the middle of a bright summer day. Knowing that it’s these sun rays that are culprit number one for premature skin ageing, they do have a point, no?
8. Gym? No, thanks!
Unlike other cultures, the French are not so obsessed with the image of the perfectly fit body. Many of them find gyms utterly boring, which is why they are not flocking there in their hundreds. Yet this doesn’t mean that they don’t exercise, they just do it as part of other activities. Walking, for example is a common way of keeping themselves fit, as well as getting from one place to another, of course.
9. Homemade masks
Natural, homemade masks is a big part of French beauty secrets. Some say that every girl in Paris has her own beauty routine for which she uses the contents of her fridge and kitchen cupboards. These routines are often a continuation of the family tradition we mentioned earlier, of grandma’s masks. Honey, fruit, egg yolks, olive oil and vinegar are commonly used ingredients for facial and hair masks. There are also region-specific ones such as lavender or seaweed.
10. Cold shower
Cold shower is another one of French beauty secrets. Cold water can significantly improve your blood circulation, so after the usual routine with warm water, French girls like to turn the cold tap on. Then follows some rigorous wiping with the towel to add to the refreshing effect of cold water. This routine energizes not just the body but the mind as well and can be better than any amount of coffee in the morning.
11. Accessorise
The right accessories can turn one single dress into several outfits. French women know how important accessorising is, and having a taste for it allows them to keep their clothes for longer, rather than changing their wardrobe every season, because, you know, that dress is no longer in.
12. Perfume is important
Perfume plays a very important role in French beauty secrets. The perfume is part of who you are. Forget makeup; your favourite fragrance can do wonders for your self-confidence. This is, of course, supported by high-quality skin care, because, admittedly, you can only afford to go minimal with the make up if your skin looks OK. So, drink water, wear perfume and take good care of your skin to look French.
France, the land of style, fashion and some of the best cosmetics, has also given us the image of the effortlessly perfect French woman. Alw...

According to a report by Post Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari, has told Nigerians that he handed over to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, because he was confident that the Law Professor would run the government smoothly in his indefinite absence.
In a tweet via his twitter handle, @MBuhari, Buhari said: “As I noted earlier, I have absolute confidence that government will continue to run smoothly, while I’m away. God bless the Federal Republic.”
Buhari’s Allies, noted that for the fact that the President did not use the words “Acting President’’ in his letter to the Senate, did not mean that Osinbajo is not in charge of the nation.
Meanwhile, Osinbajo has waded into the controversy caused by the wordings of Buhari’s letter to the National Assembly.
Responding to a question on the issue on Twitter, Osinbajo said the President did hand over power to him.
Recall, that the President embarked on a medical trip to the United Kingdom on Sunday, and he transmitted a letter to the National Assembly, informing it of his indefinite absence.
In the letter read out on the floor of the Senate, on Tuesday, Buhari said the Vice President would, “coordinate the activities of the government” in his absence.
This was different from a letter the President sent to the National Assembly earlier, when he embarked on a similar trip to the UK, in January.
At the time, he wrote that the Vice President would, “perform the duties of my office”, while he was away.
The wordings of the President’s recent letter has generated much debate, with critics accusing Buhari of deliberately undermining his Vice, for political reasons allegedly.
Tweeting via @benamaigwo, one Bernard Amaiguo had asked: “Mr. Vice President, why did Mr President refuse to hand over the affairs of the country to you?”
In his response, Osinbajo said the President did transfer power to him.
