Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, have concluded plans to adopt the former Governor of Kano State and serving Senator, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as a replacement for President Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of 2019, Post-Nigeria gathered from the News Telegraph report.

Recall, that Kwankwaso came second place in the All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries, in 2015, while former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, came behind him in the 3rd position.

The decision was as a result of the failing health of Buhari, who is currently now out of the country, for a follow-up medical consultation, in faraway United Kingdom, UK.

However, there is palpable tension in the North, who fears that the region might find itself in the same boat as they did, in the lead up to the death of former President, Umaru Yar’Adua, in 2010.

It was gathered from highly placed sources, that it was the 2019 Presidential debate that prompted the meeting between Obasanjo, Babangida, and Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Minna, recently.

A source said that one name that was accepted as the likely successor in 2019, is Kwankwaso.

An APC chieftain said: “They may have settled for Kwankwaso, because of certain factors. Part of the reasons, is that more than any other Politician in the North, Kwankwaso is seen as commanding a large followership in Kano and most States of the North-West.’’

He is also said to be preferred by Obasanjo, who is rumoured to be doing everything he could, to ensure that Atiku Abubakar, his former Vice, does not get the ticket of the Presidency in 2019, in any major political party.

A source close to Atiku, disclosed that the former Vice President did not factor the Osinbajo, Tinubu angle to his calculations, when he started crisscrossing the country, in preparation for 2019.

The source said: “Asiwaju and Atiku were on the same chapter, up till the time Buhari traveled in January. But the way the media was hyping Osinbajo in acting capacity, made Atiku to wonder if Tinubu was preparing Osinbajo up for 2019. I must be frank with you, since that time, Atiku has been viewing them with suspicion.

“There is no open war really, but the trust is not much between them. Atiku feels that his ambition may be truncated by the Osinbajo/Tinubu move.”

It was further gathered, that some Northern leaders are also tinkering with the possibility of resolving the crisis in the PDP early enough, as an emergency vehicle, should the calculations for a Northern President not sail on the APC ship, in 2019.

Sources said that what happened in 2015, where the North jettisoned political differences to usher in Buhari, might be an option in 2019, if matters get to that level.

3. You are going to have to be a bit flexible

That may mean that you won’t get exactly the shade that you were hoping for when you first dye your hair, so be prepared to be a bit flexible on that one.

4. Hair colouring may change the texture of your hair
If you already love the way that your hair feels, you need to be aware that dying your hair is likely to change the texture of your hair. As a general rule, going darker will leave your hair feeling silkier, while going lighter will make your hair fuller and coarser.

5. You might find out that hair dyes can irritate your skin
Some of the ingredients in hair dyes, especially darker shades, can irritate the skin and cause a burning sensation and redness on the skin. Severe allergic reactions to hair dyes are rare, but if you have never dyed your hair before, a small patch test is a good idea, before you cover your whole scalp with a dye.

6. Going light again is very difficult
Although when you dye your hair, you won’t have to live with it for the rest of your life, you should be aware that, if you dye your hair darker, going back to a lighter shade is not all that easy to do. It’s not impossible, but it is very difficult to do properly and it is also very tough on your hair. If you keep on changing the colour of your hair, you will damage your hair and it could become unmanageable.

7. You’ll need to think about your brows too
If you are making a drastic change of colour, from blonde to black, for example, you may need to think about colouring your brows too.
You can use makeup to do that, or you can have your brows dyed. Your brows should ideally be one or two shades lighter than your hair colour. If you do decide to colour your brows permanently, get it done professionally. It is too risky dying your eyebrows yourself, because they are so close to your eyes.

8. You will need to change your makeup
You will probably find that you need to buy new shades of makeup to go with your new hair colour and that can take some time, because you’ll probably find that you have to experiment for a while until you find the shades that compliment your new hair. Even things like hair bands and hair clips may have to be changed as well.

9. Be prepared for the high maintenance
Dyed hair usually needs more conditioning and caring for and, depending on the shade that you have chosen, you might need to buy shampoo that is designed especially for coloured hair. If you dye your hair blonde, for example, you might need to use purple tinted shampoo to stop your hair colour turning brassy.

On May 12, 2017, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) received formal notification from the World Health Organization of an outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

As part of Nigeria’s immediate response, the Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, issued a statement over the weekend highlighting the need for citizens not to panic given the level of risk of possible transmission of the virus from the Central African country, DRC, to Nigeria. In his statement he stated, “Nigerians are urged not to panic as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control is equipped to secure the health of citizens. The agency has for a while now, been strengthening states capacities to detect, manage and respond to haemorrhagic fevers including Lassa fever.”

Following this directive, the NCDC convened an emergency meeting with representatives from the Department of Public Health and Port Health Services of the Federal Ministry of Health, World Health Organisation (WHO), The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), US-Centers for Disease Control, the African Field Epidemiology Network and the University of Maryland Baltimore to guide the country’s preparedness activities.

At the meeting chaired by the Chief Executive Officer of the NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, an Ebola Preparedness Working Group (EPWG) was set up to lead on the coordination of the immediate risk assessment of the situation in the DRC and coordinate the strengthening of prevention and preparedness for any potential introduction of the virus into Nigeria.

The risk of introduction of the Ebola virus into Nigeria is considered to be highest through its air and land borders. Therefore, Port Health Authorities have been advised to intensify existing screening procedures at all ports of entry with first responder teams being put on alert. In addition, there will be an increased focus on reinforcing principles of infection prevention and control to all healthcare workers across the country.

Nigeria’s response to Ebola in 2014 was recognised globally for its speed and efficiency. NCDC and its partners will leverage this successful in its preparedness to prevent, detect and respond to the unlikely situation of the introduction of the virus to Nigeria.

WHO and other NCDC partners are committed to continued support to the country in its efforts to ensure its health security is protected.

In the coming weeks, the NCDC led Ebola Preparedness Working Group will provide regular updates as necessary on the outbreak in the DRC and provide information on how to protect ourselves and our country from Ebola.

President Donald Trump appeared to confirm a Washington Post report that he disclosed highly classified intelligence with Russian officials, writing on Twitter Tuesday morning that he “wanted to share with Russia.”

“As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety,” Trump tweeted. “Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.”

Current and former anonymous US officials told The Post that Trump’s disclosures to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak jeopardized a key source of intelligence about the Islamic State terror group, as the source had not given the US permission to share the intelligence with Russia.

Trump “revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies,” one official told The Post.

Trump’s statement seems to contradict previous White House denials of The Post’s story.

White House officials Monday night pushed back against the report, with Deputy National Security Adviser Dina Powell saying bluntly the “story is false.”

National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster — who was part of the meeting with the Russian officials — also came out against the report.

“There is nothing that the president takes more seriously than the security of the American people,” McMaster said in a televised statement. “The story that came out tonight as reported is false.”

“I was in the room, it didn’t happen,” McMaster said.

Russia also denied reports that Trump revealed classified information, according to the Associated Press. Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, described the reports on Facebook as “yet another fake.”

As Trump notes in his tweet, the president does have the right to declassify information and share classified information.

Estranged nanny of Tony Dikeh’s son, Mrs. Mgbechi Enyinnaya, has accused the Nollywood actress of subjecting her to all forms of emotional and psychological abuse while working for her.
The 56-year-old native of Imo State, who opened up on what really transpired between them in a chat with journalists in Lagos on Sunday after a video showing her being questioned by Dikeh in company of others went viral on the internet over the weekend, said that contrary to claims by the actress of showing her love by regularly gifting her money for her children, she had never done so.
Though Enyinnaya acknowledged that Dikeh had on a number of occasions given her clothes for two of her children, she dismissed most of what Tonto said, in a disclaimer over the weekend, as false.
She said, “Throughout the period I worked for Tonto, she always assaulted me verbally. At the slightest opportunity, she would rain abuses on me and tell that she would scatter me if I wasn’t careful.
I lived in that house with her despite all the constant harassment because of her son, King. I loved the boy like my own child and it was because of him that I stayed long with her. She has never given me money to give to my children.

She also explained that the only thing her boss did was to give her some of the clothes she wanted to distribute to motherless babies homes to give to her children.

She said, “Tonto said that she had taken me to 15 countries, let her show the world my passport and the copy of the visas she claimed to had obtained for me.
The only place we went outside Nigeria together was Ghana and it was her husband, Churchill, that took us there. The video she posted online was not the complete version. All the things I said, they did not show it.”
She also added that the video only showed where she and others were intimidating her; that they never allowed her to talk. She insisted the Tonto should tell the world the truth, “I worked for her diligently and had never conspired with anyone to tarnish her image.” She concluded.

According to a report by The Eagle Online, the Federal High Court in Abuja has been asked to nullify the 2015 presidential election largely won by the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.

The request was based on the ground of violation of campaign expenses limit during the polls by parties.

The court was also asked to order President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to quit office.

So also was the court asked to dissolve the Federal Executive Council.

The argument was that the election which led to its formation was not competent in the face of the law.

In a legal action instituted in Abuja by Hope Democratic Party, the APC and PDP were said to have breached sections 3, 14, 15, 30 and 139 of the 1999 Constitution and sections 91 and 92 of the Electoral Act 2010 on the N1 billion campaign expenses limit.

The court action, with reference No. FHC/ACT/CS/405/2017, was instituted by Barrister Udegbunam Emmanuel on behalf of the plaintiff, which claimed to be one of the registered political parties in the country.

The defendants are APC, President Buhari, Independent National Electoral Commission, PDP and Prof. Osinbajo as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th defendants respectively

The case was predicated on the on the recently released findings and report of the Independent National Electoral Commission on the 2015 general election review, which reportedly indicted APC and PDP for exceeding the N1 billion campaign expenses and showed specifically that APC expended about N500 billion and PDP almost N1 trillion on the poll.

The plaintiff asked the Court to determine whether by virtue of sections 3,14,15,30 and 139 of the 1999 constitution and sections 91 and 92 of the Electoral Act 2010, the May 29, 2015 inauguration of a four -year tenure government under President Buhari cannot be abridged, questioned and dissolved following the reported revelation of the INEC that the 2015 presidential election based on which the government is constituted is predicated on violations of the laws limiting presidential campaign expenses not above or beyond N1 billion.

The court was also asked to determine whether by virtue of the provisions of the law conferred on the court under section 6(6), 14, 15 and 139 of the 1999 constitution and section 90 of the Electoral Act 2010, the Presidential Election of 2015 based on proven illegalities established by INEC is not liable to be investigated and probed and for the court to dissolve based on the breach of the provisions of the law.

The HDP therefore sought court declaration that by virtue of the 1st, 2nd and 4th defendants reported violation of the law on campaign expenses limit, the inauguration of the APC Federal Government under Buhari was unlawful and dissolvable.

The party also applied for an express order of the court abridging the four-year tenure of the APC-led government under Buhari and dissolving the Federal Executive Council to make way for early fresh election.

In the alternative, the party said by the doctrine of necessity, the court should order immediate constitution of an all-inclusive government of national unity to be headed by its presidential candidate in the 2015 election, Chief Albert Ambrose Owuru, being the most progressive, revolutionary and visionary candidate at the election pending the conduct another election by INEC.

The HDP also sought another order of the court to bar the APC and PDP from participating and presenting candidates at such re-scheduled future presidential election.

No date has yet been fixed for hearing of the suit.

ABUJA —A top aide of President Muhammadu Buhari is in trouble over the role he allegedly played prior to the departure of the president to the United Kingdom for medical treatment, last week, Vanguard reports.
There were indications, last night, that the aide, who has already courted many controversies for the Presidency, might be probed for the latest action and other scandals he had been enmeshed in since being put in the key post in the Presidency.
A top government source told Vanguard, last night, that the latest offence that got Buhari very upset, was the attempt by the said aide to breach the clear provisions of the Constitution regarding the transfer of power to the Vice President ahead of Buhari’s departure, last week, for his medical follow-up in the United Kingdom.
The source explained that although the President had upon his last visit to the U.K. personally told Nigerians that he would after his 49-day stay in London soon return there for a follow-up, the said official deliberately refused to share the information with other key aides of the president like the NSA, media aides and even the Office of the Vice President.
It was learned that it was not until the day of departure of Buhari that he himself kept asking about the whereabouts of his Vice that his aides who were around, hurriedly put a call to Osinbajo to urgently meet with the number one citizen.
It was gathered that Buhari also personally put a call to the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulazia Yari Abubakar, to meet him at the Villa before his departure.
“The president actually insisted on calling the top government officials to come over to his residence that night to meet with him before his departure to ensure that there was clear understanding that he was travelling and wanted every relevant official of the administration to know about his trip and to demonstrate his full compliance with the laws of Nigeria.
“Mr. President did not want to be dictated to by the said official, who had earlier suggested to him that the transfer of power to the Vice President should be limited, while he should be empowered by the President to act as a liaison between the Presidency and the National Assembly, during Buhari’s absence.”
The source said last night, “In fact, the man in question had actually drafted a letter meant for the president’s signature two days to Buhari’s departure stating that “the powers of the Acting President be limited” while he ( the aide in question) be authorized to coordinate things in a “broad sense until Buhari returns”.
“In the letter drafted by the controversial official for Buhari to sign, the officer also suggested that Osinbajo be restrained from taking any action on the Economy, Foreign Currency operations and the Central Bank of Nigeria among other strategic agencies of the government pending the return of Buhari.”
“Mr. President however shocked the aide largely believed to have won his heart by promptly rejecting the suggestions by taking the unprecedented bold step to personally meet with his Vice and the NASS leaders and brief them on the transfer of power to his Vice before leaving Nigeria for the U.K.
“It was at the meeting that Buhari pointedly asked Osinbajo to take full control of the administration and to have a free hand to run the system untill his return to Nigeria, something that rattled the powerful aide, who is said to be rooting for the creation of a cabal in the Presidency for his pecuniary interest,” the source said.
Top Government sources hinted last night that the President himself might have started losing confidence in the said aide when he constituted the panel which probed the suspended Secretary to give Government of the Federation, SGF,and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, without involving the beleaguered aide.
“On that particular occasion, unlike before, Buhari personally drafted the statement in conjunction with his media aides announcing the suspension of the two men and the composition of a panel to probe them without the knowledge of the aide in question.
“It was after announcement by the President that most other aides got to know about the suspension of Ayo Oke and David Babachir. This explains why even the embattled SGF himself ironically “which Presidency?” when confronted by State House reporters after the news was broken.

Early Life & Education
Jason Chukwuma Njoku was born 11 December 1980 and raised in Deptford, South-East London, and raised by his mother alone alongside his four brothers and sisters. He attended school in London, then moved to a village in Nigeria from the age of 12 – 15. After he returned from Nigeria, he attended college to complete his A Levels, before securing a place at The University of Manchester where he read Chemistry. He graduated in 2004 with a 2:1 and launched Brash Magazine, a student publication which ran for two years, before it closed in 2005.

Career
When Jason Njoku graduated from his UK-based university in 2005, he was filled with high hopes of entrepreneurial success but after his business endeavors failed to take off for years, Njoku had no option but to move back to his mother’s house in London in Deptford.
It was here that he came up with the idea of starting a Nollywood distribution business having studied the industry from afar, he flew out to Lagos, thanks to the financial help of his best friend Bastian Gotter, a fellow University of Manchester graduate, and started purchasing the online licences of Nollywood movies.
He worked from a two bedroom apartment in Festac, Lagos, and struck a deal with YouTube in Germany to be the official Channel partner for Nollywood company.
In 2010, Njoku and Gotter launched NollywoodLove, a YouTube channel, which was profitable within two months of launch. That same year, thanks to a prominent article by Sarah Lacy who worked at the time for Tech Crunch, NollywoodLove caught the attention of US-based Venture Capital fund Tiger Global, early investors in Facebook, who were interested in expanding their reach in emerging markets.
Series A investment of $3m was secured from Tiger Global in 2010 and the company launched a stand-alone video-on-demand movie platform, iROKOtv, on 1 December 2011. The site drew in viewers from 178 countries around the world. Njoku and Gotter have since gone on to raise an additional $22M from international VCs, with inclusion from Investment AB Kinnevik and RISE Capital and have used the investment to build an extensive film catalogue of 5,000 movies, launch offices in Lagos, New York and London and invest in improving the company’s technology resource.
In August 2013, alongside his business partners Bastian Gotter and Mary Remmy Njoku, Njoku launched a $2m investment vehicle for Lagos-based Internet start-ups called Spark. The company initially invested in 11 companies, including a Drinks distribution company called Drinks.ng, a real-estate / property online letting agency called ToLet.com.ng, and a Hotel room booking site, called Hotels.ng, which has gone on to raise $1.2m in VC investment from EchoVC Pan-Africa Fund and Omidyar Network. In 2015, Jason Njoku in a blog post officially announced they’re letting go of 4 startups considered failed businesses. The 4 startups were Bus.com.ng (an online bus ticketing service ), Insured.ng (an insurance comparison platform), Giddimint.com.ng (an online fashion store) and Christians.ng, an online dating platform for Christians.
In 2015, Njoku decided to focus the company’s attention on an Android mobile app, rather than a streaming platform in order to combat broadband infrastructure problems that Africa poses.

Personal Life
Jason Njoku married Nollywood film star and producer Mary Remmy Njoku in Festac, Lagos on 18 August 2012, in front of friends, colleagues and Nollywood celebrities. They welcomed their first son, Jason Obinna Njoku on 30 July 2013 and a second child, Nwakaego Annabel Njoku, was born on 24 August 2015.

Awards & Recognition
In July 2012, Jason was cited by Forbes Africa as one of the ‘Ten Young African Millionaires to Watch’.
On 29 August 2013, Njoku was named as the CNBC All Africa Business Awards Young Leader of the Year for West Africa.
He has also been named as one of Fast Company’s Top 1000 Most Creative People in Business.
He also won the Future Awards Africa as Entrepreneur of the Year.

Every one knows being overweight is very bad for one’s health — that much, we’re all aware of. But recent studies have found that being too thin comes with its own set of serious risks and disadvantages. So if you are underweight, you might want to explore its health risks and get insights on how to add a few kilograms to achieve a healthy weight and thereby a healthier you!

How do you know if you’re underweight?

You can find out if you are underweight using a simple calculation to determine your body mass index(BMI). This can be easily done by dividing your weight (in kilograms) by your height (in metres squared) as indicated below:

BMI (kg/m²) = Weight in kilograms ÷ Height in metres²\

As a matter of fact, BMI is used as a screening tool to identify whether you are underweight, overweight or at a healthy weight. Quite simply, a BMI value less than 18.5 means that you are underweight.

There are many serious health risks to being underweight, mainly:

Infertility: Underweight women primarily have problems with their ability to stay fertile. In fact being underweight causes a disturbance in the hormones which leads to ovulatory dysfunction and thus infertility.

Anemia: Because of a low food intake, underweight women could become anemic, thereby reducing the ability of their blood to carry oxygen to body cells. This can eventually lead to a variety of symptoms including fatigue, dizziness, pale complexion, reduced concentration and lethargy.

Osteoporosis: The risk of osteoporosis is higher for underweight women because of less than optimal intake of calcium which results in lower bone density. This problem is more predominant in teenagers, because they are at a stage when they experience the maximum depositition of calcium in their bones. And being underweight might disrupt this mechanism, resulting in lower deposits of minerals in their bones thereby increasing the risk of developing osteoporosis.

Amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual cycles): This is also more prevalent in underweight teens because they might have a disturbance in their hormones, a decrease in their fat deposits, combined with anxiety that might lead to loss of their menstrual cycle.

Lowered Immune System: The immune system is like a guard at the gate, ensuring that foreign and abnormal cells do not pass. This system needs fuel to take on invading infections, and unless an underweight person is eating very carefully, he or she could easily starve this disease defense guard. That means that very thin people are at extra risk for getting sick during cold and flu season.

Internal Organs Become Prone To Injury: Low bodyfat means that ur internal organs are not safe. Yes, it is one of the functions of fat, protecting internal organs from physical injury. So, get ur fat % measured.

Prone To Headaches: Since the brain is made up of fats, These fats are provided to it by the liver. If there are no fat cells in your body, your liver cannot supply the fat cells to the brain and you often get headaches because you brain does not get enough fat cells to use.

What you can do for a healthy increase in weight?

The simplest way is to have 3 meals a day along with 2-3 snacks. Make sure to include different food groups in your diet to achieve a healthy and balanced intake.

Additionally, you should stay away from soft drinks and sugary foods. Instead switch to foods that are high in nutrition such as smoothies, dried fruits and nuts.If you are an underweight teen, you could also have a snack at bedtime because growth hormones are highest during early sleep.

And don’t forget to exercise and increase your physical activity. This might help boost your metabolism and stimulate your appetite!

Remember that genetics plays an important role in determining our shapes and figures! However, this doesn’t mean that you should give up and stop trying to achieve a healthy weight. In fact it means that you should try a little harder to maintain a healthy body.

You can always consult with a dietitian to determine your healthy weight range and work out a meal plan created to suit your specific needs.
