In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President, Mr Femi Adesina, the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, said the President was very cheerful and has not lost any bit of his sense of humour.
Okorocha, who is also the chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, added that the party delegation spent more than an hour with President Buhari over lunch.
He said the President was delighted to receive the delegation and asked each governor about affairs in his state. He also asked the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, about the state of the railways.
The governor stated that it was very clear from the discussions that President Buhari followed developments at home very closely.
Reacting to the negative things being said about him, Governor Okorocha said President Buhari “just laughed”, describing such reports as lies and sent his best wishes to Nigerians.
The governor further asked Nigerians to remain calm and that the President would be back as soon as the doctors give him the green light. “By our visit to London today (Sunday), the merchants of lies have been put out of business and Nigerians will not buy the garbage they have been selling. All those who look up to fake news can find a better use for their time,” Okorocha said in a telephone conversation.
State governors at the meeting include Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), and Yahaya Bello (Kogi); as well as the APC National Chairman, John Oyegun among other leaders of the party.

1. Mistakenly added too much salt? Just drop in one peeled potato.
The potato helps absorb the excess salt.
2. Angry over craked boiling eggs, add a pinch of salt to keep the shells from cracking.
3. Never put citrus fruits(Oranges, Lemons, limes, etc) or tomatoes in the fridge.
The low temperatures degrades the aroma and flavor of these fruits.
4. To clean iron cook-ware, avoid using detergents.
Alternatively, scrub them with salt and a clean dry paper towel.
5. When storing empty airtight containers, throw in a pinch of salt to avoid having that damp smell.
6. When making gravy (stews) and accidentally burn it, turn your mixture it into a fresh pan and continue.
Add a pinch of sugar, doing that takes out the burnt taste. P.S watch the qty of sugar tho.
7. Burned a pot of rice?
Place a slice of piece of white bread on top of the rice for 5-10 minutes to draw out the burned flavour. Be careful not to scrape the burned pieces off of the bottom of the pan when serving the rice.
8. Before you chop fresh red peppers, rub a little bit of vegetable oil into your hands and your skin won’t absorb the spiciness.
9. If you aren’t sure how fresh your eggs are, place them in about four inches of water.
Eggs that stay on the bottom are fresh. If only one end tips up, the egg is less fresh and should be used soon. If it floats, it’s past the fresh stage.
10. To banish ants from the kitchen, find out where they are coming in and cover the hole with petroleum jelly(Vaseline).
Ants won’t trek through the jelly. If they are coming under a door, draw a line on the floor with chalk. The little bugs also won’t cross a line of chalk.
11. Don’t store your bananas in a bunch or in a fruit bowl with other fruits.
Separate your bananas and place each in a different location. Bananas release gases which causes other fruits (including other bananas) to ripen quickly. Separating them will keep them fresh longer.
12. To keep potatoes from budding in the bag, put an apple in with them.
13. If you manage to have some leftover wine, cocktail drinks at the end of the evening, freeze it in ice cube trays for easy addition to sauces (white wine works wonders in sauces.)
14. After boiling pasta or potatoes, cool the water and use it to water your house plants.
The water contains nutrients that your plants will love.
15. When defrosting meat from the freezer, pour some vinegar over it.
Not only does it tenderize the meat; it will also bring down the freezing temperature of the meat and cause it to thaw quicker.
16. Always keep an aloe vera plant in your kitchen.
It’s invaluable when you scrape your arm or burn your finger. Just break off a leaf and rub the gel on the injury.
17. Too much fat or greese in your stew? Drop in an ice cube.
The ice attracts the fat, which you can then scoop out. This works wonders.
18. To reuse cooking oil without tasting whatever was cooked in the oil previously, while heating the oil, drop a small piece of fresh ginger.
It absorbs any flavors and odors.
19. If your milk always goes bad before you can finish it, try adding a pinch of salt to the carton when you first open it.
It stays fresh for a few more days.
20. If two drinking glasses become stuck together after stacking, it’s not impossible to separate them.
Just put ice in the inner glass and dunk the outer glass in warm water. The warm glass will expand and the cold glass will contract, making the glasses separate easily.

The US Congress is poised to approve tough new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea this week after reaching a compromise deal, which the White House indicated Sunday it could support, Guardian reports.
In mid-June, the Senate overwhelmingly passed tough sanctions on Moscow and Tehran, but the text stalled in the House of Representatives, until agreement was reached on Saturday.
The House is now set to vote Tuesday on a bill that targets Russia — for its alleged meddling in the 2016 presidential election and its annexation of Crimea — as well as Iran and North Korea, for its recent ballistic missile tests.
Initially, Trump resisted the legislation, which would prevent him from unilaterally easing penalties against Moscow in the future — effectively placing him under Congress’s watch.
But faced with near-total consensus among Republican and Democratic lawmakers, the White House blinked.
“We support where the legislation is now, and will continue to work with the House and Senate to put those tough sanctions in place on Russia until the situation in Ukraine is fully resolved,” new White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told ABC’s “This Week” news program.
“The original piece of legislation was poorly written,” she added.
Her boss, communications director Anthony Scaramucci, said it was still up to Trump whether or not to sign the measure into law.
“My guess is that he’s going to make that decision shortly,” Scaramucci told CNN, introducing a bit more doubt as to Trump’s intentions.
Even if Trump were to oppose the measure, Congress could overturn it with a two-thirds majority of both houses.
“If he vetoes the bill, we will override his veto,” Democratic Senator Ben Cardin told Fox News Sunday.
Once the House approves the compromise bill, the Senate will vote again, likely before the summer recess begins in August.
In Europe, the unilateral move by the US Congress does not sit well.
A spokeswoman for the European Commission said the draft legislation appeared to be “driven primarily by domestic considerations.”
“Sanctions are at their most effective when they are coordinated. Currently our sanctions regimes are coordinated,” she added, expressing concern that any new US measures could have “unintended consequences.”
House Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy alluded to those concerns, saying the text, which has not yet been made public, would “help bolster the energy security of our European allies by maintaining their access to key energy resources outside of Russia.”

For the past few weeks, Nigeria has been pelted by rain. In the penultimate week, it fell for the whole week, leaving many parts of Lagos metropolis flooded. Some states experienced the havoc caused by flooding.
After the relatively long spell of uncomfortable dry weather, which made adults and children alike break out in heat rash, the coming of the rainy season was welcome by the majority of the people. The initial excitement has given way to anxiety as a gale of ailments associated with the rainy season begins to buffet children, teenagers and adults.
The fact is that the rainy season has the tendency to reduce the immunity of the body and expose it attack by a myriad of diseases commonly associated with the season. The most common illnesses are related to the respiratory system, water and food borne diseases, which require that utmost care be taken to avoid them or management adequately when they occur. Common rainy season illnesses include cough and catarrh, food-borne infection, water-borne infection and cholera.
Cough and catarrh
Catarrh is an ailment that usually results when the immune system reacts to an infection or irritation.
When this occurs, the immune system sends white blood cells (WBCs) to the source of the infection or irritation. The WBCs then release molecules that cause the mucous membranes to swell and produce mucus. As the infection progresses or the irritant is not eliminated, and the production of mucus continues, the person may begin to feel an urge to cough. The cough may either be dry or productive (that is produces phlegm).
Remedies for cold
The remedy for the situation is to Increase the intake of Vitamin C either in natural form or as food supplement. This will help you drive away the cold virus faster. Vitamin C will activate your antibodies and reduce the severity of the cold, undoubtedly.
Further, you should not enter air conditioned room with wet hair and damp cloths. In case you were caught and beaten by rain, please take a hot protect you from bath soon after you get home. Taking a bath would protect you from many infections. Increase intake of hot drinks like a cup of hot milk, tea tea and hot pepper soup. Taking hot tea or pepper soup would protect you from catching cold or save you from any kind of infection that can occur due to sudden change in the temperature of your body.
Drinking extra fluids will help make mucus light, drain your sinuses, and relieve a stuffy nose. Water, broth, and sports drinks are good choices. Hot herbal tea will also warm your airways, helping to relieve congestion.
Cleanliness is very important during rainy season. Even if you catch a cold, you should clean your hands regularly and use a sanitizer always after that. Very importantly, if you are showing symptoms of cold, please sneeze into a handkerchief or tissue paper, to avoid spreading the infection, especially in a closed space such as an office. Politely move away from somebody who has cold and sneezing decorum. You can also politely tell the person to sneeze into a handkerchief.
Drink plenty of warm water or tea with honey as this will help to drain toxins from your body. A pinch each of long pepper powder and rock salt mixed in warm water reduces cough.

Also, vitamin C may cut down on how long your cold lasts and how bad you feel. And some studies show that probiotics may help prevent colds.
Food borne infection
Infection from foods has been known to increase during rainy season. Such infection can cause vomiting, dysentery and diarrhea. If it is possible, avoid eating out, especially if you are not too sure of the hygiene status of the facility. Even at home, meals should be prepared with full precaution and there is the added necessity to maintain health and hygiene throughout the house.
Therefore, wash all food materials thoroughly with clean water and cook very well and long enough to kill germs. You should drink boiled water that has cooled down appropriately, where it is not possibl to drink bottled water as a regular practice.
The rainy season is also a good reason to adopt Ayurvedic remedies such increasing the consumption of fresh ginger, which is either generously added to stews, rice, pap, taken as tea without sugar or milk.
Cook rice with crushed ginger and salt. Add pomegranate juice when the gruel is warm.
This gruel rehydrates the body, supplies energy and soothes inflamed walls of intestine and controls bowel movements.
Cholera
Cholera is an infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated. It is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae. The bacterium is usually found in food or water contaminated by faeces from a person with the infection.
When a person consumes the contaminated food or water, the bacteria release a toxin in the intestines that produces severe diarrhea. It is not likely you will catch cholera just from casual contact with an infected person.
Cholera symptoms: Symptoms of cholera can begin as soon as a few hours or as long as five days after infection. Often, symptoms are mild. But sometimes they are very serious. About one in 20 people infected have severe watery diarrhea accompanied by vomiting, which can quickly lead to dehydration. Although many infected people may have minimal or no symptoms, they can still contribute to spread of the infection.
Signs and symptoms of dehydration include: rapid heart rate, loss of skin elasticity (the ability to return to original position quickly if pinched), dry mucous membranes, including the inside of the mouth, throat, nose, and eyelids; low blood pressure, thirst and muscle cramps. If not treated, dehydration can lead to shock and death in a matter of hours.

President Donald Trump has lashed out on Twitter again to complain about the special counsel investigating possible ties between his 2016 campaign and Russia, Today reports.
Mr Trump, who beat Democrat Hillary Clinton in last year’s presidential election, questioned why his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, and special counsel Robert Mueller were not investigating former FBI director James Comey or Mrs Clinton, for her email practices while Secretary of State.
The President, who sent out a barrage of tweets on Saturday on a wide range of subjects, wrote: “So many people are asking why isn’t the A.G.or Special Counsel looking at the many Hillary Clinton or Comey crimes 33,000 emails deleted…”
He also wrote: “My son Donald openly gave his e-mails to the media & the authorities whereas Crooked Hillary Clinton deleted (& acid washed) her 33,000 e-mails!”
The FBI decided last year not to recommend criminal charges against Mrs Clinton for her email practices.
Mr Trump fired Mr Comey in May.
Mr Sessions had been Mr Trump’s first supporter in the Senate before he was appointed Attorney General.
However, he has recently become a lightning rod for the President’s fury over the investigation into allegations of Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
On Friday the US Senate Judiciary Committee said Mr Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr and Mr Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort had agreed to negotiate whether to be interviewed by the panel in its Russia investigation.
The Washington Post reported on Thursday that Mr Trump had inquired about his authority to issue pardons to aides, family members and perhaps himself as Mr Mueller’s Russia investigation widens.
The President highlighted his power to pardon in the series of tweets on Saturday that focused his anger over leaks to the media.
He wrote: “While all agree the U.S. President has the complete power to pardon, why think of that when only crime so far is LEAKS against us. FAKE NEWS”.
Mr Trump also hit out at Republican senators who have been unable to agree on a way forward to repeal and replace former President Barack Obama’s healthcare law, the Affordable Care Act, which has become known as Obamacare and which Trump vowed to abolish as president.
“The Republican Senators must step up to the plate and, after 7 years, vote to Repeal and Replace. Next, Tax Reform and Infrastructure. WIN!” he tweeted.
In yet another furious posting, Mr Trump said the New York Times had a “sick agenda” regarding national security and that the newspaper “foiled” a US strike on Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi who is believed to have been killed months ago.
Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said on Friday that he thinks Baghdadi is still alive.
Mr Trump tweeted: “The Failing New York Times foiled U.S. attempt to kill the single most wanted terrorist, Al-Baghdadi. Their sick agenda over National Security.”
Mr Trump’s tweets came after he appointed Anthony Scaramucci as his new White House Director of Communications and demoted Sean Spicer from the post which triggered his resignation.
Mr Trump was in Norfolk, Virginia on Saturday to attend the commissioning ceremony for an aircraft carrier, the Gerald R. Ford.

Former YBNL artiste, Xino, has taken a bold swipe at his former boss, Olamide, aka ‘Baddoo’, calling him an immature and inexperienced record label CEO who needs to up his ante on the business aspect of music and artiste management.
In chat with Showtime, he picketed Olamide for lacking managerial experience, saying, it was one of the reasons he parted ways with YBNL. “YBNL management and other labels in Nigeria need to adopt an entrepreneurial system that focuses on artiste development because there is zero fan base in Nigeria.
Once any new sensation comes out we all switch to that one. Olamide and other CEOs need to grow up business-wise. Beyonce’s husband, Jayz, is an undisputed boss because he understands this concept and creates acts that last to create others too”, he blurted out.
The fearless singer later corrected the impression that his music career is dying because he left the Olamide’s record label, YBNL.
“I’m engaging in other money-making options, music is just an option and one that I love very much; I never asked to be signed on to YBNL, so I’m not bothered as much. But for the sake of those who dig my songs I’m coming with something soon, something cooking with Kiddominant is dropping soon”, he revealed.
