As most of us women start to get older, we start to pay more attention to our skin by coming up with a skincare regimen and investing in products to keep us looking younger for longer. Most of the attention is geared towards our faces, but our décolletage – or the chest area – can be one of the first places where the early signs of ageing start to show.
This is also a zone that many people neglect until it’s too late. Here are ways that you can show your décolletage some love so that it will stay looking youthful and wrinkle-free.
Apply SPF
As we all know by now, wearing SPF daily is crucial when it comes to delaying the signs of ageing. Applying sunscreen daily should be prioritised as part of your skincare routine, and your chest should get a liberal layer as well. A foundation with SPF is not enough – invest in sunscreen with the highest protection factor to prevent ageing on the delicate skin on your chest.
Sleep smart
Ever heard of ‘sleep wrinkles’? Unfortunately they are real and can affect the chests of women who do most of their sleeping on their side. This is because of the sagging caused by gravity. Training yourself to sleep on your back by creating a wall of cushions or pillows on either side of you can help to prevent you from rolling over during the night.
Clean thoroughly
A lot of people do not clean this area properly, and this can lead to buildup that weighs down and discolours the skin. Standing under the shower is not enough – invest in a brush or electronic cleaning device so that you can give your décolletage a deep clean to remove dirt and to exfoliate and unblock pores. This area should be treated just as you would treat your face.
Upgrade your products
Think that using your regular old body lotion is enough to keep the skin on your chest looking firm and fabulous? Think again. Skincare doesn’t stop at the neck, and to stop this area from ageing prematurely you need to either invest in a cream that is formulated specifically for this area or, at the very least, extend the same products you use on your face downwards.
Tone as you go
While you are applying your products is also a great time to do some stretches that can help to keep the neck and chest area toned. When you are rubbing in cream, tilt your head back, relax your upper body, and open and close your jaw with your mouth tensed. This helps to strengthen the cords in your neck and keeps your skin more supple.

Russian President Vladimir Putin chastized a reporter asking if he was “disappointed” with President Donald Trump, noting that the two men are not married.
“Your question sounds very naive,” Putin said, according to The Moscow Times. “He is not my bride, neither am I his bride or groom.”
The Russian leader was speaking at the BRICS summit in China.
The US intelligence community has stated that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, seemingly in an attempt to get Trump elected.
However, Putin has since been critical of Trump. At the same press conference, the Russian president attacked the US’ approach to North Korea, saying threats of military action could trigger “a global catastrophe.”

What is Mushroom?
Mushrooms, though classified as vegetables in the food world, are not technically plants. They belong to the fungi kingdom and although they are not vegetables, mushrooms provide several important nutrients.
Mushroom comes in a wide range of varieties that belong to two distinct types: cultivated and wild.
On a more practical level, many mushrooms and fungi can be poisonous or hallucinogenic. If foraging in the forest, it’s important to know what you’re looking for.
Health Benefits of Mushroom
Mushroom help prevent chronic disease due to the presence of antioxidants and beneficial dietary fibers such as chitin and beta-glucans
Blood Pressure: Studies of various types of mushrooms, including shitake and maitake mushrooms, have shown them to be high in potassium content. Potassium acts as a vasodilator, relaxing tension in blood vessels and therefore reducing blood pressure. High blood pressure is connected to a number of deadly conditions, particularly heart attacks and strokes. Potassium also increases cognitive function, because increased blood and oxygen flow to the brain stimulates neural activity. Studies have shown that increased levels of potassium improve memory and knowledge retention.
Bone Health: Mushrooms are a rich source of calcium, which is an essential nutrient in the formation and strength of bones. A steady supply of calcium in the diet can reduce your chances of developing conditions like osteoporosis, and can also reduce joint pain and general lack of mobility that is associated with bone degradation.
Anemia: Anemic patients are characterized by having low levels of iron in their blood, resulting in fatigue, headaches, reduced neural function, and digestive issues. Mushrooms are a good source of iron, and over 90% of the nutritive iron value can be absorbed by the body, which promotes the formation of red blood cells and keeps people healthy and functioning at their full potential.
Uses of Mushroom
Treatment of Acne Mushrooms are high in Vitamin D. This has healing properties when topically applied to acne lesions. Thus, mushroom extracts are often used in skin care products meant for treating acne.
Skin Protection: Skin problems are mostly caused by inflammation and excessive free radical activity. Mushrooms contain antioxidants as well as compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties. Topical use of these natural compounds promotes healing and fights inflammation. Mushroom extracts are often used in skin products for treating skin conditions like eczema, rosacea, and acne.
Mushroom contains copper which is beneficial for your hair as it facilitates the absorption of iron from food. It is involved in the production of melanin, a pigment that imparts color to your hair. Mushrooms also contain high levels of iron. Copper and iron work together promoting healthy and strong hair.
Nutritional value of Mushroom
Mushrooms contain just as high an antioxidant capacity as carrots, tomatoes, green and red peppers, pumpkins, green beans, and zucchini
Mushrooms are rich in B vitamins such as riboflavin, folate, thiamine, pantothenic acid, and niacin.
They are also the only vegan, non-fortified dietary source of vitamin D. Mushrooms also provide several minerals that may be difficult to obtain in the diet, such as selenium, potassium, copper, iron, and phosphorus. (Spillednews)

There are different skin types that require different and specific measures of care for them to have the shine and glow we desire. While almost everyone knows the basics of skin care including Moisturising daily, protection from the sun, not smoking and drinking plenty of water, but not all of us know the finer points for different types of skin.
Every type has its own specific requirements to look it’s best and here are the easy ways you can care for four different types of skin.
Dry Skin
Because you have dry skin, your tiny pores are usually difficult to spot, and is less elastic. This may sometimes make it appear red, creased, rough, or flaky especially when it dries out in the afternoon. It may also look this way when yo grow older or more weathered in the sun.
Dry skin is sensitive to a lot of perfumed and as such, it is better to use gentle products. This includes soap, detergents, and skincare products. Also avoid drying yourself out too much in piping hot showers. Be on the lookout for products that are rich in ointments and creams rather than those that come as thinner lotions. Also keep and eye out for words like ‘mild’ and ‘gentle’ rather than ‘acid’ and ‘sulphate’.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin is close to dry skin but is different in that it is red and itchy. The best thing you can do for your grooming routine if you suffer from sensitivity is to try to determine the source of the irritation and eliminate it. There is a good chance that it is one of your skincare products that is responsible for your sensitivity.
You can experiment with new products marked ‘skin-friendly’ or ‘sensitive’, or those that are devoid of fragrance and alcohol on the ingredients list. Sensitivity is different for each person but removing scented soaps and skincare products from your grooming lost is a good way to ensuring your skin is well taken care of.
Oily Skin
People with this type of body covering have large pores, visible blackheads and a glistening forehead. It usually begins in adolescence and can remain till adulthood, especially when the weather is hot and sticky. Men who have oily skin should always be on the lookout for any product that is labelled “noncomedogenic” (meaning it doesn’t clog your pores).
If you’re affected by pimples, avoid popping them and scarring your face. Instead, fight breakouts with a full face cream containing bacteria-destroying benzoyl peroxide instead of a spot treatment. You should also possess a cleanser with pore-cleansing salicylic acid on its label and any other product that contains sulphur to help absorb the excess sebum.
Normal Skin
People with normal skin type are are are some of the most lucky. This type is not to oily, neither is it too dry. This makes it the most ideal type. If you have this skin type, you are blessed with no imperfections or visible pores, either, and this makes your body glow positively.
If you have normal skin, it is ideal for you to just stick with the basics of care. Get plenty of sleep, because that’s when the skin regenerates, drink lots of water and moisturise daily. There’s no need for you to be too fussy with the kind of products you use because your body is pretty resilient to whatever you throw at it.
