Nigerian singer Tillaman, the son of the Alaafin of Oyo, exited Aquila Records last year, it was rumoured that he left because he was not getting good treatment at the record company.
Born Adeyemi Adetona, Tillaman has decided to clear the air. He told Sunday Scoop that he left Aquila Records because he wanted to do things in his own way.
He explained, “My contract with Aquila Records expired and I felt the need to start my own record label. There are a lot of things I cannot do as an artiste under a record label, but I can do more if I own my company. My music journey has grown to a level that I want to have control over the materials I put out at all times.”
While admitting that working with Shina Peller was a wonderful experience, he stated that nothing lasts forever.
He insisted, “Change is something we cannot stop; we have to learn to grow. I didn’t have any problem with”

Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke who in an interview spoke about his much talked about relationship with Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari.
Few years back, the two stars were said to be in a serious relationship, but Jim told Punch that nothing went down between down.
He explained, “Things didn’t get messy as people thought. Two people met in the entertainment industry and there was a reality show at a time that kept us together.
“So, we did a smart thing anybody who found himself or herself in such situation would have done. And when the entertainment was over, we moved on to our normal lives.
“For anyone who thought anything extraordinary happened, it was a live show except that it played into our personal lives too. I got what I wanted, which was followership and I appreciate the audience for watching.
“She understood what she was coming into and I understood as well. We got the mileage we both wanted and we moved on with our lives. Five years down the lane, people are still talking about it.”

Researchers have uncovered widespread evidence of a link between traditional Chinese herbal remedies and liver cancer across Asia, a study said Wednesday.
The findings suggest stronger measures are needed to prevent people from consuming chemicals called aristolochic acids (AA), which are derived from the woody vines of the Aristolochia plant family, said the report in the journal Science Translational Medicine.
The acids can be found in some traditional Chinese medicines that are given during childbirth, to prevent parasites and promote healing.
Researchers tested 98 liver tumors that were stored at hospitals in Taiwan, and found that 78 percent contained mutation patterns that indicated the cancers “were likely due to contact with the chemicals,” said the study.
Since these acids cause “a well-defined mutational signature,” researchers also looked at 89 samples of liver cancer in China, and found that 47 percent showed a link to this traditional medicine component.
In Vietnam, five out of 26 tumors studied were a match (19 percent), along with five out of nine from other countries in Southeast Asia (56 percent).
The link to traditional Chinese medicine was far less common in North America (five percent of 209 liver cancers studied) and 1.7 percent of the 230 looked at from Europe.
Taiwan banned in 2003 some herbal preparations using the plants after it was discovered that aristolochic acids could cause kidney failure and urinary tract cancers.
However, there is no outright ban in China or Taiwan, and “only specific plants, rather than any plant and product containing AA or its derivatives, are regulated,” making it hard for consumers to avoid them, said the report.
Researchers found that the prevalence of AA-associated mutations in liver cancers in Taiwan did not drop after the ban was implemented.
This could be because it would take more time for a drop in cancers to be noticeable in the data, as was the case with tobacco-related cancers after smoking was revealed to cause lung tumors.
Or it could be that people continue to be exposed to these acids through other products and herbal mixtures that still contain them.A

According to Daily Trust, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday hit back at his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, for alleging that his administration had failed in governance. Through his spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina, he dismissed Jonathan’s assertion that for more than two years the All Progressives Congress had been in power, it had not recorded any achievement, and that the party had continued to feed Nigerians with lies and had deployed hi-tech propaganda to cover up its misrule.
The former leader had Thursday while receiving a chairmanship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, Tunde Adeniran, said those who criticised his administration for leaving fuel price at N87 per litre were quiet now that Buhari had hiked it to N143.
Jonathan stated: “When the price of crude oil was going for over seventy something dollars per barrel, we brought down the pump price of fuel to N87. Now that the global price of crude oil goes for $53, the pump price is N143. Those who attacked us did not say anything because they have seen it.”
But via Twitter yesterday, President Buhari’s spokesman stated that trust made the difference between both incidents which were recalled by Jonathan.
According to Adesina, Nigerians held their peace when the present administration increased the fuel price to N145 per litre because of the trust they have in Buhari unlike when they shut down the nation in January 2012 when Jonathan’s government increased it from N65 to N141.
“When petrol went to N145 under PMB, Nigerians held their peace, unlike when they shut the country in 2012. The difference is trust. Simple,” the presidential spokesman tweeted.
