Veteran comedian and filmmaker Moses Olaiya, popularly known as Baba Sala has passed on.
He died at the age of 82.
Ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, broke the sad news Tuesday night.
“We lost him. What a great loss. An icon is gone”, he wrote on his Instagram page.
The late comedian, who was in limelight for decades, had solicited for funds to further his treatment.
Baba Sala, disclosed his illness at a briefing held on his biography due for presentation on December 4, where he looked frail and spoke with difficulty.
“I need help. Nigerians should help me. I am not dead yet, they should not let me die suffering”, he said.
Baba Sala’s first son, Reverend Dele Adejumo, had said the octogenarian was not suffering from old age but lack of funds for medical treatment, adding that his investments had all been wrecked by poor management.
Adejumo said, “He has investments but they have all been wrecked by mismanagement. He also had a three-storey building in Mushin, Lagos which he had to sell to offset debt incurred when his work, Orun Mooru, was pirated.
“We still have some of his recorded works not in public yet but machines that will be used to transform them to an acceptable format are not easily available. We do not have the kind of money they are charging us.
“We have been told that baba needs a lot of money for medical treatment abroad. He is suffering from a stroke and other ailments.
“There are many people of his age who are not like this. We are trying our best as family members. We take him to the teaching hospital weekly but he needs proper medical attention.”
Significantly, Baba Sala started his career in show business as a Highlife musician, fronting in 1964 a group known as the Federal Rhythm Dandies where he tutored and guided the jùjú music maestro King Sunny Ade who was his lead guitar player.

There are some easy and yummy ways that will wake you up better than coffee in the morning.
Apples
Ever heard the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away?” Well, it turns out that apples can keep sleepiness away too. Packed with thirteen grams of natural sugar, apples are a great way to wake up — even better than coffee.
If you’re heading to an early morning lecture class and need your brain firing on all cylinders, be sure to pick up an apple on your way out.
Eggs
Protein, protein, protein. Not only will it make your body crazy muscular, it’ll bulk up your brain too. Eggs are bursting with essential nutrients and all the fancy stuff to keep your body charged longer.
Because of the healthy dose of omega 3’s, fat, and protein, eggs will keep you full longer, which really helps avoid that mid-class slump. So load up your plate with eggs — scrambled, fried, over easy, or in an omelette — and make your 8 AM simply egg-cellent.
Chocolate Milk
It’s chocolate, of course it’s a power food. Now I’m not saying to gobble down a whole bag of chocolate chips, but a healthy dose never hurt anyone. Aside from eat chocolate straight up, mixing it with something is a sure-fire way to kick start your morning.
Milk has been the poster child for healthy bones since forever. But, when we add chocolate, it gets even better. Protein helps your body to make important enzymes that send signals to your brain to wake up and get moving.
Chocolate should basically be its own food group. Not only is it good with everything, but it also provides nutrients that can help your body to feel more awake. Cocoa has natural caffeine, and will help to maintain blood sugar levels longer when paired with calcium-rich protein.
Plus, there are tons of things to mix in to maximize the awesomeness. Chocolate milk tastes great, is good for you, and boosts energy. Boo-yah.
Grapefruit
Did you know some smells can actually have a physical effect on your body? Now you’re probably thinking we’re going to tell you to wake up and smell the coffee, but you should really be waking up to smell the grapefruit.
According to The National Sleep Foundation, the smell of citrus can naturally make the body more alert, and it’s full of immune system boosting Vitamin C. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of this tart, tangy fruit, be sure to saunter by it and take a little sniff. Not sure how to cut one up? Check out this link: How To Cut a Grapefruit.
Oatmeal
There are a lot of rumors floating around the foodie-sphere about carbs in the morning. While it’s true that an overload of carbohydrates will leave your feeling sluggish, the right amount can go a long way in the morning.
The key, my friends, is to avoid simple carbs like waffles, pancakes, and muffins (I know, I know, those are the best breakfast foods). Save those heavy, sugary breakfast foods for weekends and choose a complex carb to start your morning grind.
Oats steal the show with their fabulous fiber, and their ability to keep you full longer and kick start your metabolism for the day.
Spices
I know, I know. Spices aren’t really a food. But when added to certain breakfast staples, they can take your dish from snooze to “Oh snap!”
Spices such as cinnamon, cumin, paprika, and of course red pepper send your metabolism into over drive, those spices triggering hormones in your body that wake you up immediately!
If you’re a fan of sweets in the morning, try cinnamon on a apple, in your oatmeal, or on top of toast with some peanut butter. If you’re more into savory dishes, try to sprinkle a little something spicy on your eggs in the morning.
Greek Yogurt
Ah yes, Greek yogurt. Showing up on “power food” lists everywhere, Greek yogurt has officially been named one badass mama-jamma. Greek yogurt is super important if you have a big exam or presentation because it will provide the protein and healthy bacteria that your body needs to bring it’s a game.
As an added bonus, Greek yogurt actually burns fat because it takes more energy to digest it than it does to eat it…. How’s that for badass?
Honey
Purer than white sugar, sweeter than brown sugar, and healthier than that creepy fake sweetener, honey takes the cake when it comes to sweetening your food. Honey has natural sugars that take energy to break down, so your body has to be awake and functioning to digest it.
If you need a boost to start your morning, don’t reach for the coffee pot, but instead for the little plastic bear full of honey. It is more effective than caffeine because it stays in your system longer, and it tastes great with toast or fruit.
Waking up is hard, we get it. But fear not! You now have the tools you need to wake up and get yourself going in the morning.

It appears that Wizkid is currently faced with troubles as regards putting out local content.
The song, Manya which is popularly believed to be owned by Weezy, was actually released as a product of Mutay of Legendary Beatz.
The video of the song was originally put out on the account of Starboy rather than Wizkid, but now the video is not longer on the Starboy youtube account but on Mutay’s YouTube account.
It is said that due to Wizkid’s international deal with Sony Music, there is limitation to the amount of local content Wizkid can release.
The most recent report that the video to Manya has been taken down from the Starboy YouTube account, could be a consequence of Wizkid not getting due approval to put out the song from his international associates.
The song was number one trending song before it was taken down, now if you search for the video, you wont find it on the Starboy Youtube account nor on Wizkid’s VEVO.

Though the management of Burna Boy, Spaceship Entertainment, has come out to deny his involvement in the robbery attack on another colleague, Mr. 2kay, things are still not clear.
According to Mr. 2kay’s manager, James Silas, everyone read the statement by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi. He said the armed robbers confessed that Burna Boy, through his manager, paid them to attack Mr. 2kay.
He told Sunday Scoop,
“The police commissioner has said it all. The matter is in the hands of the Nigerian police and there is nothing much we can do or say about it at this point. All the things the police said are true. We have no reasons to fabricate anything. The armed robbers said they were sent by Burna Boy.
“The industry is funny; so, we’ve have decided to handle the situation carefully. When the time is right, Mr. 2Kay will address the issue himself. But for now, we don’t want to be in the middle of all the drama. You can see that Mr. 2Kay has yet to speak about this issue.”
He, however, debunked claims that they sued the management of Eko Hotel and Suites, insisting that it made no sense because they didn’t plan the attack.
“I don’t think we have the right to sue the management of Eko Hotel, but they have been in touch with us. We saw the news; we don’t know where it came out from. They have not promised us anything and we are not expecting anything from them for now,” Silas stated.
