A pornstar who goes by the name Stormy Daniels is suing United States President Donald Trump, Punch reports.
Daniels whose real name is Stephanie Clifford is seeking a court order to void a non-disclosure agreement between her and Trump.
Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti revealed this on his Twitter, writing:
Earlier today, we filed this complaint seeking a ct order voiding the alleged “hush” agreement between our client S. Clifford aka Stormy Daniels and Donald Trump. https://t.co/upa9u10MqR
— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) March 7, 2018
The agreement is void, they said, “because, among other things, Mr Trump never signed.”
Daniels had an intimate relationship with Trump from 2006 to 2007, the document also said, and had intended to make the affair public.
Trump, with help from his lawyer, Michael Cohen, however attempted to “silence Ms Clifford as part of an effort to avoid her telling the truth, thus helping to ensure he won the presidential election.”
An NDA was made, the document said, with the sum of $130,000 to be made as payment to Daniels.
Daniels and Trump were to sign the NDA under the pseudonyms Peggy Peterson and David Dennison, but while Daniels and Cohen did sign, the U.S. President never did, thus voiding the contract.
Cohen had also made public, the sum paid, which also suggested the non-disclosure agreement had been broken.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it will begin to distribute permanent voter’s cards (PVC) in May, Punch reports.
Godswill Obioma, the Ebonyi State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner revealed this in Abakaliki on Wednesday.
People who registered between 2018 and 2019 will receive their cards in the month of May, Obioma said.
Obioma also urge those who have not registered to receive their card to do so. He said:
“We have concluded arrangements for the distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards to their owners and the exercise begins by mid-May and will involve those who registered between 2017 and 2018.
We have begun early to plan for the 2019 elections and I want to assure you that we will do our best to eliminate factors that will compromise outcome, credibility and integrity of the elections.
Let me use the opportunity to urge officers who have not registered to register and those wishing to do card transfer to visit any INEC office for the update.”

World’s athletics body IAAF is asking that the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) return $150,000 paid to it by mistake, Guardianreports.
The body pays $15,000 annually to member federations, but for the year 2017, $150,000 was mistakenly paid to AFN.
IAAF accountants reportedly discovered the error and asked that the sum be returned, and therein lies the trouble: the money is nowhere to be found.
AFN Vice President, Olamide George, speaking to Guardian, said the board of the AFN has no knowledge of any sum received.
The sum was probably received by the past administration, he said, or by the AFN secretary who was installed by sports minister Solomon Dalung. He said:
I think the money came just when we were taking over from the past administration.
But the truth is that it is only the AFN secretary who knows how he received the IAAF money.
If the money was paid into AFN account, it could have gone through the Treasury Single Account (TSA). I am sure the secretary used his personal account to collect the money from IAAF, which I think is wrong.
The secretary was transferred from AFN before, but the sports minister (Solomon Dalung) brought him back. They should tell Nigerians what happened to the IAAF money.
I cannot be part of AFN board and all sorts of things are happening behind the scene. We must not fold our hands until IAAF sanctions Nigeria because of this issue.
The AFN Technical Director, Sunday Adeleye, also spoke with Guardian, saying the sum has not been paid into the AFN account. He said:
I can tell you categorically that since we came on board, no single money has been paid into the AFN account.
So, it will be difficult for me to speak on this IAAF $150,000 grants.

In a CNN report by Stephanie Busari and Torera Idowu, 5 brave Nigerian women have come forward to share how they, too, were sexually assaulted.
Brenda Uphopho, Eurel Nwafor, Chichi Ogbonnaya, Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi, and Omodasola Omibeku, all brave, all beautiful, share their #MeToo stories, unafraid.
Like is often said but rarely shared personally, Omibeku, Ogbonnaya, and Uphopho were raped when they were children.
Goes without saying that the rape was carried out by trusted people: a man who worked for the family, a respected man in church, a distant relative who stayed with the family.
Nwafor and Osowobi had their experience much later in life, one at her place of work, and the other while volunteering at a local election as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
Of course, for some of them, rape happened more than once. Uphopho shared that after the second time, she was afraid to tell anyone what had happened to her.
“I just felt if I was going to tell anybody … they would ask me … ‘What did you wear? What were you doing there? How did you end up alone with this person?” she said.
These are the things our women go through. This is the reality for a lot of Nigerian women.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Saturday went to the cinema with his kids to see Marvel blockbuster “Black Panther.”
He also paid tickets for everyone present in the cinema to see the movie.
Atiku, on his Medium, wrote about the lessons he learnt from the movie.
In the post titled “Black Panther — A good film with many lessons for Nigeria,” the president listed various things he learned.
Read his story below:
Black Panther — A good film with many lessons for Nigeria
Over the weekend, I joined my children to watch the much talked about ‘Black Panther’. It was a good film, and I was happy they took me to see it. However, I came out of the movie theatre a little upset. When the first scenes came up, and I saw “Sambisa Forest” I was unhappy that the only reference the film makers could have for Nigeria was a negative one, but I was later encouraged by the thought of Africans solving African problems. That is a good thing, the kinds of things we used to do. For young people who may not remember, Nigerian civil servants and indeed most able citizens used to contribute money every month to support the struggle against Apartheid in South Africa. Nigeria was the single stabilizing force across West Africa. Helping to restore peace in Liberia and Sierra Leone are examples of the gigantic status we once had.
Seeing another African country come play ‘Big Brother’ to Nigeria made me very sad. We must return to a place of respect. We may argue that the film is a work of fiction, but there are many truths in the story — one of them being that young girls are being abducted by terrorists across the northeast of Nigeria, and they need to be rescued. Only recently, a band of terrorists stormed another girls’ school in Dapchi, Yobe State. After days of confusing information, it is now confirmed that 110 girls are missing. Nigeria has once again been thrown into sorrow with many of us wishing that there was indeed a ‘Black Panther’ to help rescue the girls.
Here are my takeaways on Black Panther:
Institutions are important
Wakanda was portrayed as a technological giant, which ruled by great kings, supported by a council, and traditions are held in high esteem. But it was easy to see that most of the decisions are those of the king, which presents serious institutional problems. Institutional order in the dispensation of justice could have helped handle the betrayal of Wakanda by the king’s brother, which would have prevented the hatred of Wakanda which filled the heart of the nephew who was left behind. The succession system is also another example of institutional weakness in Wakanda. The young man from America came in and within days, destroyed the long standing institutions, even when he seemed to be trying to help Black people all over the world.
In one moment of folly, he decided to destroy the garden that guarantees powers to every other king of the future. Should there not have been a process whereby a council needs to approve the King’s orders before they are carried out? Institutions are better guarantors of good governance than kings or strong men/women.
Checks and balances are important in leadership. This is why democracy is important. As a Nigerian who has lived through many dictatorships, I would have liked Wakandans to adopt a new model, which gives them a say in who leads them, as well as includes checks and balances. This would at least insure the country against the rise of tyrants and demagogues.Killmonger’s liberation philosophy was terrible
The most successful tyrants always have simple philosophies, which on the surface appear good. We only see the deviousness of the plan after a second look. Many people would be drawn to the message of black liberation that the young American returnee preached, but closer scrutiny reveals that it wasn’t liberation he was preaching, but reverse oppression. When the oppressed becomes the oppressor, has justice really been done or are we just exchanging one evil for another?
Nigeria’s hope is Nigerians
One of Wakanda’s most valuable resources was mentioned in the film, but not shown — many Wakandans abroad providing intelligence to their country back home. There’s enough Nigerian talent abroad to turn our country into a technology and industry giant. The question then is how we can make the environment conducive for them to return and contribute to its growth and development.During my time in government, mining the ‘natural resource’ of Nigerians in the Diaspora was an important part of our strategy, bringing back Nigerians who had established themselves abroad to come home to work. Sadly, many of those people who came back have packed up and returned abroad. We are losing professionals in all sectors in their droves every month, at the fastest rate not seen since the 1980s.
We cannot build the Nigeria of our dreams without keeping our best people in the country and empowering them to work and build businesses. We cannot keep our people healthy when the best of our medical professionals are being forced to pack up and leave.

The United States Government has said Nigeria’s 2019 elections is a major priority focus for them, The Cable reports.
This was said by the US Department of State during a briefing on the first trip of Rex Tillerson, U.S. secretary of state, to Africa.
Tillerson is expected to visit Nigeria.
A peaceful and democratic transition is what is the most important, the U.S. government said.
“As we look at the 2019 elections, obviously Nigeria, though it’s not this year, that really is a major priority focus, because that’s going to be the third most populous country in the world by 2050.
It has really very complex political issues and ethnic, tribal and security issues.
And that’s an area that we really are focusing on; on how to do a peaceful and democratic transition.
But more important is how to hold governments accountable to the people.”
