A pornstar who goes by the name Stormy Daniels is suing United States President Donald Trump, Punch reports.
Daniels whose real name is Stephanie Clifford is seeking a court order to void a non-disclosure agreement between her and Trump.
Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti revealed this on his Twitter, writing:
Earlier today, we filed this complaint seeking a ct order voiding the alleged “hush” agreement between our client S. Clifford aka Stormy Daniels and Donald Trump. https://t.co/upa9u10MqR
— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) March 7, 2018
The agreement is void, they said, “because, among other things, Mr Trump never signed.”
Daniels had an intimate relationship with Trump from 2006 to 2007, the document also said, and had intended to make the affair public.
Trump, with help from his lawyer, Michael Cohen, however attempted to “silence Ms Clifford as part of an effort to avoid her telling the truth, thus helping to ensure he won the presidential election.”
An NDA was made, the document said, with the sum of $130,000 to be made as payment to Daniels.
Daniels and Trump were to sign the NDA under the pseudonyms Peggy Peterson and David Dennison, but while Daniels and Cohen did sign, the U.S. President never did, thus voiding the contract.
Cohen had also made public, the sum paid, which also suggested the non-disclosure agreement had been broken.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it will begin to distribute permanent voter’s cards (PVC) in May, Punch reports.
Godswill Obioma, the Ebonyi State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner revealed this in Abakaliki on Wednesday.
People who registered between 2018 and 2019 will receive their cards in the month of May, Obioma said.
Obioma also urge those who have not registered to receive their card to do so. He said:
“We have concluded arrangements for the distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards to their owners and the exercise begins by mid-May and will involve those who registered between 2017 and 2018.
We have begun early to plan for the 2019 elections and I want to assure you that we will do our best to eliminate factors that will compromise outcome, credibility and integrity of the elections.
Let me use the opportunity to urge officers who have not registered to register and those wishing to do card transfer to visit any INEC office for the update.”

World’s athletics body IAAF is asking that the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) return $150,000 paid to it by mistake, Guardianreports.
The body pays $15,000 annually to member federations, but for the year 2017, $150,000 was mistakenly paid to AFN.
IAAF accountants reportedly discovered the error and asked that the sum be returned, and therein lies the trouble: the money is nowhere to be found.
AFN Vice President, Olamide George, speaking to Guardian, said the board of the AFN has no knowledge of any sum received.
The sum was probably received by the past administration, he said, or by the AFN secretary who was installed by sports minister Solomon Dalung. He said:
I think the money came just when we were taking over from the past administration.
But the truth is that it is only the AFN secretary who knows how he received the IAAF money.
If the money was paid into AFN account, it could have gone through the Treasury Single Account (TSA). I am sure the secretary used his personal account to collect the money from IAAF, which I think is wrong.
The secretary was transferred from AFN before, but the sports minister (Solomon Dalung) brought him back. They should tell Nigerians what happened to the IAAF money.
I cannot be part of AFN board and all sorts of things are happening behind the scene. We must not fold our hands until IAAF sanctions Nigeria because of this issue.
The AFN Technical Director, Sunday Adeleye, also spoke with Guardian, saying the sum has not been paid into the AFN account. He said:
I can tell you categorically that since we came on board, no single money has been paid into the AFN account.
So, it will be difficult for me to speak on this IAAF $150,000 grants.

In a CNN report by Stephanie Busari and Torera Idowu, 5 brave Nigerian women have come forward to share how they, too, were sexually assaulted.
Brenda Uphopho, Eurel Nwafor, Chichi Ogbonnaya, Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi, and Omodasola Omibeku, all brave, all beautiful, share their #MeToo stories, unafraid.
Like is often said but rarely shared personally, Omibeku, Ogbonnaya, and Uphopho were raped when they were children.
Goes without saying that the rape was carried out by trusted people: a man who worked for the family, a respected man in church, a distant relative who stayed with the family.
Nwafor and Osowobi had their experience much later in life, one at her place of work, and the other while volunteering at a local election as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
Of course, for some of them, rape happened more than once. Uphopho shared that after the second time, she was afraid to tell anyone what had happened to her.
“I just felt if I was going to tell anybody … they would ask me … ‘What did you wear? What were you doing there? How did you end up alone with this person?” she said.
These are the things our women go through. This is the reality for a lot of Nigerian women.
