Autopsy carried out on the body of late singer Ali Zainab Nielsen, popularly known as Alizee, has revealed that she died as a result of injuries suffered to the head, Punch reports.
Alizee and her daughter Petra Nielsen had been reported dead earlier in the month of April.
It had been alleged that her husband, Peter Nielsen, committed the murders, although he pleaded not-guilty in court.
Lawyers had claimed that Peter hit his wife’s head against the wall until she died, and then poisoned his daughter.
Her autopsy, released by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, at a press briefing, however showed that her death was as a result of head trauma.
Forensic experts were also said to have found bloodstains leading from the couple’s bedroom to their kitchen.
Bloodstains were also reportedly discovered on wash-hand basins, and a towel the suspect used after allegedly committing the murder.
The police said:
“The autospy report revealed that Mrs. Zainab Nielsen suffered trauma as a result of the impact on her head.
Secondly, the forensic experts revealed that there were bloodstains from the couple’s bedroom to the kitchen
Even though they were cleverly wiped from the floor, they were still able to detect the stains with the application of special chemical reagents.
In addition, bloodstains were also discovered on the wash hand basins and on the hand towel the suspect used in wiping his hands after the commission of the offence.”
Although it was cleverly cleaned up as well, the experts were able to discover that too.

MINNA—Former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (retd), has again urged Nigerians to ensure that only the younger generations were voted to power in the country. This came on a day former Military President also threw his weight behind the newly formed Northern Elders Forum, led by Alhaji Tanko Yakasai. Babangida, spoke at his country home, Minna, Niger State, when he received a delegation of YES Nigeria Movement, led by its convener, Ali Soyode.
He charged the delegation to seize the privilege offered by the next elections to serve their fatherland at a younger age. Babangida, who, had in a statement in February asked President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019, urged him to complete his first term and allow a new generation of leaders to take control of the mantle of leadership of the country. He had said: “In the fullness of our present realities, we need to cooperate with President Muhammadu Buhari to complete his term of office on May 29, 2019, and collectively prepare the way for new generation leaders to assume the mantle of leadership of the country.” The statement came on the heels of a similar statement issued by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, advising Buhari against re-contesting for the presidency in 2019. The former military leader, however, reiterated the need for the electorate to get their voting documentations in order to play their role in the governance of the country, just as he pledged to work with the movement in achieving its goals. “I want to commend the leadership of the movement for the great works it has achieved, especially in the areas of educating the electorate on their democratic and political rights and also supporting existing parties in identifying potential candidates for elective offices,” Babangida said In his remarks, convener of the movement, Soyode, said the aim of establishing the movement was borne out of his desire to see a better political and democratic system educating the electorate of their power to elect, call to accountability of the elected and having right people in government through the exercise of their votes. He maintained that the country was due for younger generations to lead and have the elders as the advisory council. New Northern Leaders Forum formed, visits IBB Meanwhile, Babangida has thrown his weight behind the newly formed Northern Elders group, led by Alhaji Tanko Yakasai. Receiving the new body at his Hill Top residence in Minna, yesterday, Babangida said he would continue to support any group with a template that will ensure the unity and stability of the country. He urged the new body to cut across all political parties, saying politicians knew what they needed and should be well educated in the agenda of the new body. He said: “Anything within the context of one Nigeria is noble and I will support and bless what you are doing but you should be fair in your dealings with Nigerians. Speaking earlier, Chairman of the NLSA, Tanko Yakasai, said the Assembly’s mission was aimed at promoting the cultural and political unity among all northerners. He said: “This Assembly is political but non-partisan. It is political in the sense that the doors are opened to all northerners, irrespective of their ethnicity, differences of religious and political belief or sectional background.”

Donald Trump launched into another furious Twitter tirade against James Comey on Sunday, hours before the broadcast of an extended interview with the fired former FBI director and with a memoir detailing his interactions with the US president soon to hit US bookstores, Guardian reports.
Excerpts of the interview with ABC News already have been aired, as have reviews of Comey’s memoir, “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership.”
The book, which is due out Tuesday, likens Trump to a dishonest, ego-driven mob boss and says he demanded Comey’s personal pledge of loyalty — a damning account that has infuriated the president at a moment of intensifying legal pressure on other fronts.
“I never asked Comey for Personal Loyalty. I hardly even knew this guy. Just another of his many lies. His ‘memos’ are self serving and FAKE!” Trump said in one of his latest tweets.
The president again called Comey, who has said he took detailed notes of his meetings with Trump, a “slime ball” and said he “stupidly” handled a probe into Trump’s 2016 election rival Hillary Clinton.
In another tweet, the president undertook a mini-review of Comey’s memoir: “The big questions in Comey’s badly reviewed book aren’t answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn’t they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe’s $700,000 & more?”
The jumble of references appeared to allude to unsubstantiated accusations Trump has previously made claiming Comey lied in Senate testimony last May in denying he had served as an anonymous news source.
“Look, it’s been very clear that James Comey is a self-admitted leaker. He lied to Congress,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said on ABC’s “This Week.”
The escalating feud comes with momentum gathering in a special federal probe into possible Trump campaign collusion with a Russian effort to sway the 2016 elections.
In the latest twist, the Justice Department revealed this week that Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, has been under “criminal investigation” for months in a separate probe led by the US attorney’s office in New York.
On Monday, federal investigators searched Cohen’s New York residence, office, hotel room, safety deposit boxes and cellphones. Materials seized could include evidence related to payoffs to two women who said they had sexual encounters with Trump.
Email probe
Trump and his aides have countered by attacking Comey’s handling of an investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state.
Comey, who was fired by Trump last year, acknowledged in the ABC interview that his belief that Clinton would be elected president “was a factor” in his decision to reopen the email probe 11 days before the US election, a development that Clinton blames for her surprise defeat.
“I don’t remember spelling it out, but it had to have been, that she’s going to be elected president and if I hide this from the American people, she’ll be illegitimate the moment she’s elected, the moment this comes out,” Comey said.
His comments echoed a quote from his memoir, in which he said it was “entirely possible” his concern over Clinton’s legitimacy “bore greater weight than it would have if the election appeared closer or if Donald Trump were ahead in all polls.”
“Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe,” Trump tweeted.
“In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going to win, and he wanted a job. Slimeball!” he wrote.
In another tweet he accused Comey of throwing former attorney general Loretta Lynch “under the bus,” an allusion to Comey having criticized Lynch in the memoir for suggesting that he refer to the Clinton probe as only a “matter,” rather than an investigation.
“Was she promised a Supreme Court seat, or AG, in order to lay off Hillary,” Trump asked.Clinton has previously said she believes Comey’s announcement played a part in her losing the presidency.
“After the Comey letter, my momentum was stopped,” she told NPR in late 2017.”My numbers dropped, and we were scrambling to try to put it back together, and we ran out of time.”
