Another Judge says Amaechi’s is behind his arrest by DSS

03:25

Justice Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court is blaming his arrest by the DSS on the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.

Guardian reports that Justice Ngwuta sent a letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed, explaining that Amaechi wanted him to set aside Ayo Fayose’s election. He also mentions how Amaechi tried to to intimidate him by making threats. And after the Court of Appeal ruled over the results of the River State governorship election, he alleges that, Amaechi made him speak to someone from the DSS while telling him (Ngwuta) that “Oga is not happy”- Oga being the President.

Amaechi’s media aide, David Iyofor, says he “did not and has never tried to lobby, induce or make the Hon. Justice Ngwuta to influence the outcome of any matter before the Supreme Court or any other court”.

This is the second of such allegations against Amaechi. A few days Justice John Inyang Okoro made a similar allegation against him.
