#PresidentialVisit: Naomi Campbell says Buhari invited her to Eko Atlantic City, Presidency disagrees
01:36The “meeting” between President Muhammadu Buhari and British supermodel Naomi Campbell at the Eko Atlantic City, Lagos has become a controversial situation. The presidency had shared photos of Buhari, Campbell, Bola Tinubu and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the Eko Atlantic City in Lagos saying that the president was on tour of the site.
This brought a stir on social media, with various Nigerians asking what Campbell’s mission at the site was.
The British model and actor also tweeted, with photos to go, that it “was a pleasure to be invited by His Excellency The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to the private launch of Eko Atlantic”
The presidency replied in a tweet by Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s personal assistant (New Media) said Buhari and Campbell “only met at the Eko Atlantic City” and that Campbell wasn’t invited by the president.
See his tweet below:
For the sake of clarity, President @MBuhari didn’t invite Ms. Naomi Campbell to any event during his 2-day visit to Lagos State. They only met at the Eko Atlantic City while Mr. President was touring the project, and she requested to take photos with him.

Naomi Campbell has since deleted the tweet where she said it was a pleasure to be invited by President Muhammadu Buhari to the “private launch of Eko Atlantic City.”, and published another where she said she only met Buhari at Eko Atlantic City, and that she’s in Nigeria for Arise Fashion Week 2018.
