1 Tara Fela-Durotoye was born at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos on 6th March 1977 to John Ejegi Sagay, a commissioner at the Federal Civil Service, Nigeria and Felicia Omaghomi.
2 Her parents separated when she was eight months old; and being a polygamous home, she was brought up by her stepmother, Modupe Agnes Sagay.
3 She started her education at Command Children School, Victoria Island and proceeded to Nigeria Navy Secondary School, Ojo. In form 5, she was made the Sanitary and Welfare Prefect. She graduated from the Lagos State University, with a degree in Law.
4 She started House Of Tara as an undergraduate in the Faculty of Law, Lagos State University in 1998.
5 She launched the first bridal directory in 1999, set up international standard makeup studio, and established the first makeup school in 2004. She launched the Tara product line, comprising a range of professional tool kits (such as make-up boxes, brushes and purses) for make-up artists and a wide range of make-up products including eye shadows, eye liner, foundation, powders and lip gloss.
6 The House of Tara, her flagship business has under her supervision won a kit full of awards including but not limited to the Right Vision Movement Award Creativity & Productivity Makeover Outlet of the year 2006, The Africa SMME Award presented in South Africa, the Entrepreneur of the Year award 2007 and the Creative Business Award of the Year, Success Digest 2008.
7 In 2013, Tara was nominated as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and was also named one of Forbe’s ’20 Young Power African Women’.

US President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order placing a 90-day ban on people from 6 mainly Muslim nations. Iraq – which was covered in the previous seven-nation order – has been removed from the new one after agreeing additional visa vetting measures.

The directive, which includes a 120-day ban on all refugees, takes effect on 16 March. The previous order, which was blocked by a federal court, sparked confusion at airports and mass protests. But activists said they were planning to challenge the new ban, the Guardian reports.
Presented as a means to strengthen national security against terror threats, it was blocked by the courts and effectively remains on hold.

The new order seeks to address prior complaints by removing language that granted priority to religious minorities for refugee resettlement, which had been viewed as targeting Muslims. It states that Trump’s original directive “was not motivated by animus toward any religion”, a remark rejected instantly by refugee advocates and civil liberty groups, who said they planned to challenge the second order on similar grounds.

It also includes specific exemptions for lawful permanent residents, who had initially been covered by the previous order.
And it removes Iraq from the list of targeted states, and implements a more gradual roll-out, meaning the new travel ban will not come into full effect for another 10 days.
“Make no mistake,” White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters Monday in reference to the changes. “We lost the element of surprise back when the court enjoined this in the ninth circuit and we had to go back to the drawing board.”
The president quietly signed the order away from the presence of cameras or the press, a noteworthy changefrom the original travel ban’s rollout at the Department of Defense on 27 January.
The revised ban was instead announced by the heads of the agencies that will be tasked with overseeing its implementation. Addressing a limited pool of reporters on Monday, secretary of state Rex Tillerson, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary John Kelly, and attorney general Jeff Sessions dubbed the move critical to US national security.

There are some common mistakes that people of all income levels make which could be hurting their ability to manage their day-to-day finances and save for their longer term goals. Here are 7 money management mistakes we make presented by Erik Carter, financial contributor.

1. Having only a rough idea in your head of where your money goes. As they say, you can’t manage what you don’t measure. When I ask someone how much they’re spending, they usually list a few bills and other expenses off the top of their head. But once they actually start going through their bank and credit card bills, they’re almost always surprised to see where their money is really going. For this reason, you’ll want to do the same thing. One option is to go through at least 3 months worth of previous statements and record your expenses by category on an Excel spreadsheet. Another method is to use a site like Mint.com or Yodlee MoneyCenter to track your spending online for free. Both sites also have Apple and Android apps to help you manage your money on the go. Neither approach is necessarily better so just choose the one that you’re more likely to actually use.

2. Forgetting those non-monthly expenses . Some of the largest sources of credit card debt are holidays and vacations. You can easily turn them into monthly expenses by dividing the amount you typically spend each year by 12. You can then have those monthly amounts automatically set aside each month so the money will be there when you need it. While you won’t earn a whole lot at today’s interest rates, it still beats paying interest on credit card debt.

3. Spending more than you really need to. Once you know how much you’re spending and where your money is really going, think of ways to reduce some of those expenses. After all, regardless of how much you make, don’t forget that plenty of people are living on less so you can too. (There are even people who save as much as 75% of their income in order to retire in as little as 5 years.) Do you have subscriptions or memberships that you don’t really use? Have you comparison shopped for things like insurance policies, mortgages, cell phone plans, and groceries? Are the purchases you’re making for something you really need or just a status symbol? Can you think of lower cost ways of achieving the same result like bringing your own lunch and coffee instead of eating out and stopping at a coffee shop on the way to work each day? You may be surprised by how small changes can really add up over time.

4. Living paycheck to paycheck. That could be a big mistake, especially with the unemployment rate still high and people taking longer to find jobs. That’s why many financial experts are now recommending having 8-12 months of necessary living expenses rather than the traditional 3-6. If that sounds daunting, begin with a goal that’s feasible for you and build from there. You can build an emergency fund and save for retirement tax free at the same time. Just be sure to keep the money invested somewhere safe and accessible like a money market account or fund until you have adequate emergency savings elsewhere. At that point, you can invest in something more aggressive for retirement.

5. Thinking that you should never borrow from your retirement plan either. Like the last one, there certainly is some truth here. Most people think retirement plan loans are free since the interest just goes back into your account. However, there is a very real cost, which is the lost earnings in your account, and a very real risk, which is that any outstanding balance after 60 days of leaving your job could be considered a taxable distribution and subject to a 10% early withdrawal penalty. For those reasons, retirement plan loans should not be taken for frivolous purposes. If you use one to pay off high interest debt, make sure that it’s part of a long-term plan to stay debt free. The last thing you want is to run your credit card balance up after depleting your retirement savings.

6. Saving whatever is left at the end of the month. If you do that, don’t be surprised when there isn’t anything left to save. Instead, have your savings automatically set aside before you even have a chance to spend it. The easiest way to do that is in your employer’s retirement plan since it’s deducted right out of your paycheck.

7. Contributing just enough to your employer’s retirement plan to get the match. If it’s important to know how much to save for holidays and vacations, it’s even more important to know how to save for the ultimate holiday/vacation: your retirement. Contributing enough to get your employer’s match is a good start but that probably won’t be enough. To get an idea of how much you’ll need, take a look at your expenses and think about how each one of them might change in retirement to create a retirement budget . For example, your mortgage and other debts may be paid off but you could spend more on travel and health care. Then use a retirement calculator to see how much you need to save. If you can’t swing that much, see if your plan has a contribution rate escalator, which slowly increases your contribution rate over time until you hit your goal. After all, it’s a lot easier to save 1% more each year then to go from 6% to 15% all at once.

Vitamins and minerals are essential for the proper functioning of the body, making it necessary for life processes. The body needs daily amounts of vitamins and minerals, and foods are the best source for this purpose.
If your body does not receive a sufficient dose from food, you will notice certain signs of vitamin deficiency. In this regard, it is necessary to take certain vitamins and minerals, at the recommendations of your doctor, as medicinal supplements.

1. Chapped lips, a sign of vitamin A deficiency
Many of the signs of minerals and vitamin deficiency occur in the skin. Vitamins are those that help produce collagen, a protein present in connective tissue, but which is produced by your body in increasingly smaller amounts as we get older. Therefore, their deficiency may result in the emergence of some dark brown spots, dry skin, or wrinkles.
Among the “signals” of vitamin C, B12, B6, zinc, iron, folic acid, and essential fatty acids deficiency there could be listed eczemas and ulcerations which appear around the mouth area. Dry and chapped lips (especially in the corner of the mouth) are not only a sign of dehydration, but another sign of vitamins A, B2, B6, and folic acid deficiency in the body.
Another “consequence” of vitamin deficiency is reddened, irritated, and dry skin, requiring more intense hydration. Such disorders occur when the level of vitamins B, E, and zinc is low. Minerals and vitamin deficiency can also make wounds to heal more difficult.

2. Dandruff can be caused by vitamin B deficiency
Minerals and vitamin deficiency affects both the health and aspect of your hair. They are the ones that improve the blood circulation in the scalp, which in turn stimulates hair growth. Dry hair that tends to break easily and dandruff can be attributed to vitamins B2, B6, zinc, magnesium, and biotin deficiency.

3. Hair Loss and a Red, Scaly Rash (Especially on Your Face)
This can be a sign of biotin (vitamin B7) deficiency. Your body needs biotin for metabolizing fats, carbohydrates, and amino acids, but it’s most well-known for its role in strengthening your hair and nails. Egg yolks from organic, free-range eggs are one of the best sources of biotin.
The best way to consume eggs, provided they come from a high-quality source, is to not cook them at all, which is why my advanced nutrition plan recommends eating your eggs raw.
However, beware of consuming raw egg
whites without the yolks as raw egg whites contain avidin, which can bind to biotin and potentially lead to a deficiency.
If you cook the egg white, the avidin is not an issue. Likewise, if you consume the whole raw egg (both yolk and egg white) there is more than enough biotin in the yolk to compensate for the avidin binding. Wild-caught salmon, avocados, mushrooms, cauliflower, nuts, raspberries, and bananas also contain biotin.

4. Red or White Acne-Like Bumps (on Your Cheeks, Arms, Thighs, and Buttocks)
This can be a sign of deficiency in essential fatty acids like omega-3s, as well as vitamin A or vitamin D deficiency. Increase your intake of omega-3 fats by eating more sardines and anchovies (or wild-caught Alaskan salmon) or taking a krill oil supplement.
You can find vitamin A in foods like leafy green vegetables, carrots, sweet potatoes, and red bell peppers, while vitamin D is best obtained through safe sun exposure or use of a high-quality tanning bed.

5. Tingling, Prickling, and Numbness in Your Hands and Feet
This can also be a sign of B-vitamin deficiency (particularly folate, B6, and B12). The symptom is related to the deficiency’s effect on the peripheral nerves and may be combined with anxiety, depression, anemia, fatigue, and hormone imbalances.
Some good sources of B vitamins include spinach, asparagus, beets, organic free-range eggs and poultry, and grass-fed beef.

6. Muscle Cramps (in Your Toes, Calves, Backs of Legs, and Arches of Feet)
Muscle cramps may be a sign of deficiencies in magnesium, calcium, and potassium, especially if it happens frequently. Fix this by eating more almonds, hazelnuts, squash, dark leafy greens (kale, spinach, and dandelion), broccoli , and apples.

Early Life
Blossom was born on November 4, 1983 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He is a native of Otolo, Nnewi North in Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria. He attended Greater Tomorrow Primary School and Greater Tomorrow Comprehensive College both in Benin City, Edo State. For his tertiary education, Blossom opted to study Mass Communications at the Anambra State University of Science and Technology, where he spent a year. He completed his studies at the Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, Edo State after a brief stint at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology. While in BIU, he was President of the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOS) in the 2007/2008 session. Blossom was profiled on Africa Magic’s Nollywood show, Jara, as one of the top 5 actors to watch out for in 2013. He was number 4 on ace Nollywood director, Charles Novia’s, list of the best actors of 2013, In 2012, Chukwujekwu landed a role in Flower Girl which was his breakout movie. Released in 2013, it achieved critical and commercial success in Nigeria, Ghana, the United Kingdom and film festivals in the USA and Canada. Chukwujekwu’s next block buster feature film, Finding Mercy, was one of the most anticipated and successful movies of 2013. It was the closing film at the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF 2013). In 2014 Knocking on Heaven’s Door opened in cinemas nationwide. According to a report by New Telegraph, FBI Director James Comey has rejected President Donald Trump’s claim on Saturday that his predecessor, Barack Obama, tapped his phone, US media say.

Comey reportedly asked the US justice department to reject the allegation Obama ordered a wiretap during last year’s election campaign.
He is said to have asked for the correction because it falsely insinuates that the FBI broke the law.
The development was reported by the New York Times and confirmed by NBC.
The justice department did not issue any immediate statement in response to Comey’s reported request.
US media quoted officials as saying that Comey believed there was no evidence to support Trump’s allegation.
The Republican president, who faces intense scrutiny over alleged Russian interference in support of his presidential bid, has offered no evidence to support his allegation that phones at Trump Tower were tapped last year.
The New York Times and NBC reports came as the White House called on Congress to investigate whether the Obama administration had abused its powers.
Both Congress and the FBI are currently investigating contacts between the Trump election campaign and Russian officials, after US intelligence agencies assessed that Russia had interfered with the election to help Trump win against his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said there had been “very troubling” reports “concerning potentially politically motivated investigations immediately ahead of the 2016 election”.
Representative Devin Nunes, the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement that his committee would “make inquiries into whether the government was conducting surveillance activities on any political party’s campaign officials or surrogates”.
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr, also a Republican, said in a statement that it would “follow the evidence where it leads, and we will continue to be guided by the intelligence and facts as we compile our findings”.
Comey has had a bumpy relationship with Trump.
In July last year, after he announced he would not recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton following his agency’s investigation into the handling of classified information on her private email server, he was roundly denounced by Trump.
“FBI Director said Crooked Hillary compromised our national security,” Trump tweeted at the time. “No charges. Wow! #RiggedSystem.”
Trump, who spent the weekend at his Florida resort, had called the alleged tapping “Nixon/Watergate”, referring to the notorious political scandal of 1972, which led to the downfall of President Richard Nixon.
He asked on Twitter whether it was legal for a “sitting president to be wire-tapping” and referred to the allegation as “a new low”.
Earlier Ben Rhodes, who was Obama’s Foreign Policy Adviser and speechwriter, wrote in a tweet: “No President can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you.”
A spokesman for Obama said Trump’s allegation charge was “simply false”.
The Director of National Intelligence at the time of the US election, James Clapper, has also denied there was any wire-tap on Trump or his election campaign team, reports the BBC.
Clapper told NBC that he knew of no court order to allow monitoring of Trump Tower in New York.
“There was no such wire-tap activity mounted against the president-elect at the time, as a candidate, or against his campaign,” Clapper said.

Without citing evidence, Donald Trump on Saturday accused Barack Obama of a Watergate-style “wire tapping” of his offices in New York before the US presidential election, a move critics dismissed as an attempt to deflect attention from investigations of his ties to Russia .

A spokesman for Obama said the accusation was “simply false”, the Guardian reports.
The unprecedented attack by a president on his predecessor, made in a series of early morning tweets, stoked speculation that Trump’s remarks were prompted by stories circulating in rightwing media , including one that claimed Obama is attempting a “silent coup” against Trump.
The president this week endured another avalanche of revelations about his associates’ contacts with Russia. Most damagingly it emerged that his attorney general, former Alabama senator Jeff Sessions, failed to tell senators about two meetings with the Russian ambassador to the US last year.
Last month the national security adviser, Michael Flynn, was forced to resign over conversations with the ambassador and misleading statements about them to the vice-president, Mike Pence.
Earlier this year US intelligence agencies reported that Russia interfered in the election to help Trump, who has repeatedly proven reluctant to publicly criticise Vladimir Putin.
On Saturday, the President launched a series of tweets that began at 5.35am . In one he wrote: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”
He followed up with a string of tweets in the next half-hour that claimed Obama had defied a court rejection to tap his office, and invited a “good lawyer” to make a case against the alleged process.
The President then compared the alleged surveillance of his communications to Watergate – the scandal in which a 1972 break-in at Democratic National Committee headquarters led to revelation of crime and cover-up at the highest level of government and, ultimately, the resignation of Richard Nixon.
“How low has President Obama gone to tapp [sic] my phones during the very sacred election process,” Trump tweeted. “This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”
Obama’s former deputy national security adviser, Ben Rhodes, tweeted back at Trump: “No president can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you.”

Later an Obama spokesman, Kevin Lewis, issued a statement that did not deny there was a wiretapping but did deny that Obama ordered one.
“A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice,” the statement said.

“As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any US citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false.”
No evidence was provided to substantiate the president’s claims that Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower, and it was not clear on what information Trump was basing his allegations.

A US official told the Guardian there was “no evidence to support that claim” of Obama ordering Trump to be wiretapped.
Just before last November’s election, the British former MP and novelist
Louise Mensch reported that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (Fisa) court had granted a warrant to enable the FBI to conduct surveillance of “US persons” in an investigation of possible contacts between Russian banks and the Trump Organization.
Two months later the BBC published an article backing up Mensch’s original story about the Fisa court warrant issued in October to allow the justice department to scrutinise transfers and communications between Trump associates and Russian banks. US intelligence agencies were investigating the link, it added.

The Guardian reported in January that the Fisa court had turned down an application, asking the FBI to narrow the terms of inquiry.
