The Nigerian Federal government filed suits against some international oil companies over undeclared crude oil exports.

Filed on June 7, 2016, the defendants in the suit include Italy’s ENI, U.S. oil company Chevron and France’s Total.

The government is suing these companies for owing $12.7 billion in undeclared crude oil exports to the United States between 2011 and 2014,Reuters reports.

ENI says the claim against it totaling $160 million is baseless and it will contest it.
