Starboy is on a roll. Nigerian artist, Wizkid will sign with Sony Music later today.

This is according to a tweetstorm by NOTJUSTOK co-founder, Ovie.

Sony is doubling down on what appears to be the next phase in pop culture- Afrobeats. The deal will be signed today and means WIzkid and Davido will be on the same platform.

Here’s how he puts it:

All things being equal, Wizkid will put pen to paper on a mega deal with Sony/RCA tomorrow (Tuesday). Everything is agreed in principle.

Universal made a strong play for Wizkid (a top exec travelled to London for talks months back), but Sony offered a much better "package".
