Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III says herdsmen who carry arms and terrorize farmers are not Nigerians. And he labelled them terrorists.

This is according to the Sultan’s Eid el-Kabir message to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria.

“They are, therefore, terrorists and should be treated as such by the Nigerian security agencies.The Nigerian herdsmen are very peace-loving and law-abiding.”

The Sultan admits there are issues between the Fulani herdsmen and the farmers which they should resolve through dialogue.

He also touches on the need for peace among Nigerians saying “our diversity should be our strength and God has not made a mistake by creating us with diverse differences”.
