The Ahmed Makarfi led PDP faction says the party convention will hold in spite of the Abuja high court injunction.

The party’s stance contained in a press release published by a member of the National Caretaker Committee For Publicity, Dayo Adeyeye.

The faction says the suspension of the convention by Justice Okon of the Abuja high court is an act of judicial recklessness. And it will go by the Interlocutory Order given by the Rivers State high court.

“The Order of Port Harcourt is clearly superior and earlier in time to the Interim Order given by Justice Okon Abang. In the light of the above, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a law abiding Party is obeying the Order of the Port Harcourt, Federal High Court until set aside by any competent Court of jurisdiction.” The statement reads.

The party says its Repeat National Convention will continue as scheduled on Wednesday 17th August 2016.
