Goodluck Jonathan says he has no affiliation with the Niger Delta Avengers. And says the stories are fabrications to smear his name.

This is according to a statement signed by his spokesman, Mr Ikechukwu Eze, Vanguard reports.

He says those against the former President are employing character assassination. And are reaching out to media houses with false claims.

“We obviously would have ignored the allegation, having responded recently to the exact same fabrication peddled by a shady militant group, but for the new dimension of bringing in the authorities, while hiding under the often-abused journalism latitude of quoting nebulous ‘sources” It reads.

This comes after the President refuted a similar allegation by a spokesperson for the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers.
